    Adjustments to the FATE Challenge Log in Patch 5.0

    The FATE category in the challenge log will be revised in Patch 5.0 and the following objectives will be removed:

    * Fated to Wander
    * Embrace Your Fate

    As such, we recommend that players fulfill the requirements for these objectives before the maintenance for Patch 5.0 begins.
    The honest question is quite frankly, why?

    Is it to punish players who took the easy way out and did low level fates for easy exp? Because that's no different time wise than doing at level fates.

    Just wondering how this change makes the game BETTER. Because that should always be the end goal of any change.

    But in typical SE fashion, they won't tell us the reasoning behind the change. We have to guess and speculate.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Its almost certainly due to the Fate changes we are getting for the SHB area.

    The Fate log (as well as the dungeon log) don't really help much once you hit 51, there rewards stay static once it hits 50. So not much of a change there.

    1-50 already has had its exp gains in other areas greatly increased from what they were in ARR and thats before accounting for those with the Road to 60 (which will probably soon enough be 70) buff. This change won't affect them much.

    This is actually incorrect.

    The challenge log rewards for FATEs/Dungeons scale up to one level below the previous expansion's level cap. The FATE ones give 15% of a character's level, the dungeon ones give 10%/15%. At lvl 60+, those logs will give 388,800/583,200 exp (since the exp to go from 59 to 60 is 3,888,000)

    The release of 5.0 will likely see them scaling up to lvl 69.

    We don't know yet, because we don't know about the actual change that's happening to that section of the challenge log.
    Considering the FATE category only has those two objectives, it's pretty obvious that there's gonna be new objectives added to the category.

    You straight up made a post about something we have no idea about..
    They will probably improve and adjust the FATEs categories but theres no reason for them to tell you RIGHT NOW how and why..
    They will probably include some of the currency we need to buy stuff from the FATE Vendor at the First etc.

    Isnt it enough they warned people not to waste their time doing fates for "cheatting"[/s] exp points when 5.0 maint is over? xD

    It was really 1mill xp a week for doing 10 fates regardless of level. A free mill xp is still a free mill. I hope they replace these with better challenges for the log in 5.0
