The previous ones have all dropped end of April, but I believe they said may.

In May, we're also planning to release a brand new benchmark that will allow you to create Viera and Hrothgar characters, so please be sure to look forward to that as well!
Think it's typically 6-8 weeks before launch.
I hope it is soon it seems like its taking forever lol
Yeh I know haha its horrible I am like a kid waiting for a new toy lol :D
awww nooooo :( I hope it does work for you!
We didn't get new races last expansion so it's not surprising that the benchmark would be released later this year.
I'm not buying until I have the benchmark.
From the Paris Q&A.Quote:
Q: Will the graphics requirements go up with this expansion?
A: We did it last time, so this time we won't. However, dropping DirectX 9 and 32-bit support is already huge in itself. This frees us from the 2gb memory cap and makes debugging easier. We researched standard PC specs around the world and I think the game experience was improved as a result of that, but right now, you don't have to worry about it at all. On the other hand, when we hold these fan fests, I feel that people are really hoping for graphical improvements. But it's hard. Changing an MMO's graphics engine has upsides and downsides. If there's a chance that we'll lose a lot of players at once, then there's also a chance we won't make money, so we can't treat it like a standalone game. We don't have any concrete plans yet, but we continue to observe the market.

My laptop was able to handle the Stormblood benchmark. (Results: Slightly Low) So. It might be able to handle the Shadowbringers benchmark. ...Hopefully...
Benchmark allways came with a big announcment, so expect it with the LL on May 24th.
The benchmark will be later because the actual Expansion is being released later than the last ones. I am sure the last two benchmarks where released before the big live letter though and that included the release of the last new race the Aura. I guess we will know soon enough :)
There will be a minimum amount of minimum system req. adjustment. As they said, the game dropping the Dx9 and the 32 bit system, those alone needs more resources for the computers(or new computer if u playing a 32 bit, Dx9 only system, like netbook or older laptops). I say the minimum RAM amount will be around 4-5Gb for the game(for the system u need more to run, thats obvious). The cpu and the vga will be almost the same.
I wonder if we will get the benchmark this evening with the live letter! If not I think it will be the end of the month and also when the press NDA is lifted.
If no benchmark later then I think we should riot :D
I hope we do, I’m dying over here to create my Viera and Hrothgar!
I would have liked more than a month to get my PC up to snuff....
I have no interest in the genders that will be released on 5.0 but I want the benchmark for the trailer and to see the missing gender icons and what they do with them
Stormblood benchmark dropped at the end of the actions live letter. I am hoping it drops tonight.
Because of my low level I can't create my own topic which is really stupid considering new players will have lots of questions.
Anyway, I do not mean to hijack this topic but I'm curious how the expansions compare to the base game. Zones, graphics and whatnot....just curious how the game changes from what I'm playing now to the later stuff.
If anyone could answer that it would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.
Hi,
I dont think expansion zones are that different to the base game (so far HW/SB). It's still a big empty zone with story to follow and then bye bye that zone. It's one of my main gripes with the FFXIV. World and those areas hold very little meaning and it's not like you search the secrets of them like you do in many other games.
Then again it's Final Fantasy style. You follow the story rather than explore and admire the zone you are in :D
