To me, MCH right now feels more like a Gunner than a Machinist. Remember in the live letters and interviews leading up to HW, they made it seem like MCH would have all these turrets and attachments, but in the end we got 2 turrets and 1 attachment (which was always on). I'd like to see less emphasis of the gun outside of your main combo, Richochet/Gauss round and more emphasis on grenades, bombs, tasers, etc.
It would be super cool if MCH got a new resource 80+ called Synthesis Gauge. Maybe in the MCH quests, there is an effort to reverse-engineer some of Omega's technology and in doing so, MCH with enough stored aether, passively gained from attacking, they can generate weapons in thin air. Maybe a big ass Drill that pummels through the enemy, and even a giant circular chainsaw that they spin around with, dealing AoE damage around them. They could even make those attacks combo into eachother, like Red Mage's melee combo, and have it end with a finisher (Air Anchor?).
I mean if SMN can attune themselves to Bahamut's aether and call down Ahk Morns and Demi-Bahamut...then as a MCH I want to be able to summon "Peripheral Synthesis" and have floating mechanical weapons and drills/saws/fists to attack my enemy. Hell, they could make the Level 80 capstone skill have MCH press a button on a device and a "King" turret comes up behind them and fires an Omega-style Delta Attack.
