Interested to see how it works. I really like the idea of having the interactive elements of most furniture available through the housing menu to prevent abuse, but I'm worried there's going to be some weird developer twist to make it overly complicated somehow when they aren't specific on what they've done. The placement thing will be a twelvesend too. So tired of having to do gap compensations after the original placement. Now we just need advanced placement options so we don't have to use the 'bugs' to get things where we want them and a blueprint system so we can save layouts.

Oh god yes please thank you. It has gotten to the point that I dreaded when new furnishings were interactable because I would have to remove some other interactable furniture if I wanted to use them without seeing them pop in and out of existence all the time.

Yea SE should really get it into their heads that people are intentionally using bugs because it gives them a feature they want. Maybe in 5.0 we'll see some of these bugs become actual features. I'm tired of using bugs. Some of them can be very temperamental so they're sometimes infuriating to do.

Seriously. It's my biggest housing pet-peeve whenever I get my walls perfectly lined up, leave the house, and come back to find that some little housing gremlin has shifted them just enough to see the seams.

Appears to be tabletop from what I'm seeing from the original submission. I'm not seeing part that would connect to a wall and the lalafell drawing has it appear to be resting on a counter surface of some kind.

I find it very interesting that Yosida said "We won't be adding any housing plots for awhile", rather than his usual "We don't have any plans to add more plots at this time". Maybe I'm being too hopeful but I'm still really praying for the Ishgard Housing people having been whispering about. Personally I feel like it's a long shot but it would be really nice!

They strongly implied there would be housing tied to Ishgard once the restoration of the Holy See is completed. They didn't state what type of housing it would be. It could be a ward. It could be apartments (possibly adding in size options they had mentioned as a possibility last spring). There's always hope it might be a new instanced housing system.

There's still going to be the problem of those who have been asking for Ishgard housing all having something different in mind as to what it would be like. Some want it to be in the Pillars. Some want it in snowy Coerthas. Some want something more like Sea of Clouds. Whatever SE delivers, there's going to be people upset that it wasn't what they personally wanted.

From my understanding, they mentioned rebuilding Ishgard but didn't mention anything that might imply housing. I didn't hear the main source so I'm not sure. Any info on that would be appreciated!

That said, I can't personally imagine any reason why you'd rebuild Ishgard, going back to the area of the second expansion in the fourth one, if not for housing. But my friend told me they may just be digging for content and want to breath life back into older areas. Still, I don't think it makes sense to go back to Ishgard otherwise but we shall see.

Well we don't need more housing plots, due to we need a change of system, in those owning multiple houses as it is, so can in a way relate to that what he write in the Q/A.

We need more housing items limits if anything to bet honest.
FC Room/Apartment: +25
Small House: +50
Medium House: +100/150
Large House: +200/300

And maybe all gardens no matter size of house +5.

During the fan fest when they announced rebuilding ishgard they also mentioned there could be additional housing in the expansion. It was a low key tease that we might get housing in ishgard after the reconstruction is done. Granted, there is a lot of implication there and nothing explicitly stated so its still a bit of a guess.

Roughly 30 minutes into the start of the keynote address (time stamp is going to vary depending on what video source you're using), they start talking about end game for DoH/DoL and the restoration of Ishgard.

Koji's translation of YoshiP's words: We've heard a lot from players around the world. "I want to see Aymeric again." "I want to go back to Ishgard." "I want to live in Ishgard" [Koji emphasizes that sentence]. But to do that the crafters and gatherers are going to have to unite to rebuild and restore.

Not sure how much heavier it can be implied without saying it directly.

Oh my god, wow. THANK YOU!!! I completely missed that part. Thank you so much for highlighting it for me; I didn't dare to dream when everyone was whispering about it but now I'm super pumped. <3 <3 <3 Can't wait to see what it looks like!

Wondering if Crafters/Gatherers will get a first glimpse at what it looks like. That would be pretty neat~

Given that it's tied behind crafting and gathering, I really doubt they'd be opening up traditional wards. People who didn't have max level crafters/gatherers would feel slighted when all the plots were scooped up before they could level up their classes and unlock the district. Though it is interesting that Koji said the crafters and gatherers of Eorzea would have to "unite" to restore Ishgard. It could be that Ishgard will change (and Ishgard housing will be unlocked) on based on combined server effort, and won't have separate world states for different players at different levels of progress like Doma does.

I don't think housing will be tied behind crafting and gathering, thats just the focus of the restoration events. What I'm expecting is the restoration to be phased over several patches just like doma did then once its done the housing will be patched in.
5.05 - First reconstruction phase.
5.10 - Second reconstruction phase.
5.15 - Third reconstruction phase.
5.20 - Final reconstruction phase and housing being finished (according to lore but no housing mechanics)
5.21 - Housing available for purchase.

The reconstruction will just be the story/lore behind housing being released but won't be a mechanical barrier or restriction to getting a house.

Will housing item limit be increased? For me i need more outside stuff

They said they're working on it but it won't be before 5.0. They didn't say by how much.

They didn't specify indoor/outdoor.

Doman Enclave restoration is tied to where you are with turn ins and such. Like with the Ixal, Moogles, and Namazu beast tribes. It will probably be more like Idyllshire or Revenant's Toll where it's automatically updated in the patches. Though I really like the idea of combined server effort unlocking it (possibly allowing some servers to unlock everything before others), though since they keep everything the exact same on all servers, I doubt that will be the case. More likely it will just progress with patches.

I just hope they take into account that mansions are like 4 times bigger than cottages, but currently only get double the item allowance. Makes it really hard to fill in space and put in little details.
