I've been thinking about how Raubahn lost his arm and I'm wondering if Cid will ever build a magitek styled one for him. Granted, we haven't seen anything like that in the world yet but it could be cool. I wonder if Raubahn would even accept it if presented to him.

The less we see of him the better, as far as I'm concerned. We don't need him becoming the 'Barret' of FF14...and it's not like his lack of an arm impedes his ability to fight. We could have had an interesting story about his arrogance and lack of subtlety resulting in meaningful, lasting consequences. Instead he's basically unfettered by having lost an arm and he's still an amazing fighter. Yawn.

He might still be in much the same story role as before - he’s still the head of a city-state, just a different one, but presumably considered equal to the previously-established alliance members. Meanwhile perhaps Nanamo will be the primary representative of her own country now, instead of being an “extra” at all the leaders’ meetings.

Hardly a few months had passed - if that - in the game's universe between him having his arm cut off and him showing up to fight in the tournament between Ishgard and the other Eorzean City States. He put up a fight without breaking a sweat (losing to the WoL because that's the fate of any who go up against the WoL). He then takes part in the battle to reclaim Ala Mhigo, effortlessly swinging his sword around to cut down soldiers.Citation:

We didn't see a struggle. We didn't see his 'disability' serve as a meaningful, long term consequence of his recklessness. Which is particularly grating when you consider that the only lasting consequence of ARR's ending was Teledji's death, which given that he was an antagonist isn't a terribly surprising conclusion. -

For those who missed the connection, Raubahn lost the arm that he always carried Nanamo on. He lost his arm in the events surrounding Nanamo's "death".
He lost nanamo and the arm he used to lift her up and support her. It was the start of Nanamo realising she relied on him too much and the start of her development into a leader into her own right. -

What did he do with his second sword that he can't wield any more? He gifted it to Pipin, who is now serving Nanamo in his place. He may have been released from that position, but his oath remains unbroken. :) -

Hopefully Ala Mhigo is given the same treatment as it wouldn't sit well with me if it maintained prominence after Stormblood when there's so many other new areas to explore and older areas - such as Gridania - that haven't been given a fraction of the attention the likes of Ala Mhigo and Ul'dah have received.

While I agree Raubahn got plenty of spotlight compared to the other leaders, I really wish he had a more important role in Stormblood and led the people rather than Lyse. I get why Lyse was chosen - she is pretty, easy to draw, aesthetically pleasing, easier to make merch and fan art of but Raubahn's been fighting for Ala Mhigo since 1.0 times. Ilberd pushed his buttons and seeing them clash in SB in similar manner as Lyse and Fordola did would been far more interesting to me than what we got. I felt Ala Mhigo's plot very flat with little to no attachment to the characters there. (beyond interested where Fordola will go)
I see they retired Raubahn, but I felt like they prepared him for a big moment only to steal it and hand it to someone else then kinda push him aside cause they didn't know what to do with him and thought killing him would've been too much. Given all this, yeah I'm done with the character. I suppose he will be like Estinien and just show every once in a while. -

Raubahn I'm actually pretty attached to, but he's had plenty of time in the spotlight, and 4.1 feels like a very satisfying conclusion to his storyline; all that's really left for him to do is settle in and keep Lyse from accidentally destroying Ala Mhigo.Citation:

Agreed; Fordola is the one real bright spot in the expansion for me; I'm really hoping she's being built up to fill Lyse's slot on the Scions' roster, maybe as a duo with Arenvald. We could certainly use more combat-capable Echo users, so the WoL doesn't have to do everything themself (even if they do in the end since they're the PC, it would be nice to have the narrative illusion that others are picking up some of the slack).Citation:

I'm working on a new alt and about the reason why I haven't story-potioned her is so I can interact with him and see all the dialog I kept missing because I thought he was irrelevant like the rest of the minor scions.
