Concerns of Eureka future

Just got done an epic Paz fight, 9 people left in the instance, 6 level 20s a 13 and a 12 fighting Paz. 2 tanks, 3 healers (1 being the level 13). We were doing fine until adds. 2 tanks was not enough and we all realized that as an 8 man party 3 healers and 3 tanks is what was needed. Fighting the wraiths before was the hardest part.

This is my concern for the future as less and less people are doing Eureka newer people to Eureka will have a near impossible time getting the weapons.

My suggestion would be to eliminate the add phase or have 1 add when only x people are in the instance does anyone have other suggestions since I dont know how hard that would be to program?

They probably won't keep Anemos synced to level 20, or not forever if they do keep it synced initially. The combo of 5 more levels and the extra magicite from that, (even if sync reduces them as they are planning) should make it easier for small groups of players.

It's definitely a concern, yeah. Once the next tier comes out, Anamos will die off pretty fast, making it very hard to play catch up. They mentioned having plans to help people catch up but not what they are, so right now it's kind of a waiting game. I've still seen some full instnaces though, you may have gotten unlucky on that one.

My guess is that they will have it where you just go into old eureka, do a daily or weekly, and get anemos crystals and feathers. You wont get much, but can catch up for at least one relic in a bit.

They did say they were going to look into it to make it so that people can catch up to the new zones in Eureka. For now however fates difficulty are based on people in instance so they go down. For the most part the only reason High Levels even go into Pazuzu is to help or for the Crystals.

To be honest if Eureka doesn't get more interesting I would be happy to drop it, because as far as I have been (and I am level 17) It's pretty damn boring.
I am unsubbing next month because the game overall is just boring anyway.

Well try doing all relics and gear -.-; if your only 17 your pretty much going to be left behind regardless. If the game is boring taking a break is the best thing to do. Knowing most people who claim to unsubscribe are normally back the next patch update regardless. Eureka has a nice story, and leveling up is not that hard , took me about 3 days when it came out playing around 5 hours, on and off trough out the day. Took about two weeks to get all weps ( before update was made ), now just going in for gear out of boredom. -.-. It really depends on what type of player you are.

I think the easiest way for them to do that is to still give the Anemos Crystals for killing mobs, then throw the next tier crystal as the NM reward. That way you can still get Protean Crystals regularly, and still work towards the next tiered gear.

Not sure what they can do really for people that are joining late and are level 1...unless they leave the cap at 20(which likely isn't happening...I haven't read/watched the live letter stuff so don't know if it was included in there).

Your better of as a duo until lvl 10 and then Fate train. More XP that way than parties of 3+. With new nerf on xp it has become a joke. At 10 Fate trains work best and now res and healing for players under 17 are still in high demand. Many players are ignorant and want to come other jobs do to lacking healing or rdm, which is fine...however over all people don't understand that by being lower level in higher tier NM fates their more of a hindrance than a benefit. Example lvl 9 in Pazuzu -.- yeah your better of dead than having MP wasted on you if your DPS. Healers will be prioritized and welcome even if lower levels. Recommended lvl 19-20 otherwise. Tanks lvl 20 would be preferred.

From what Ive seen in Eureka in my short time.. Its that its not very "new eureka player friendly"

You have to grind up... then no one is doing that anymore as its all about the fate nm trains.. which a lowbie cannot do easily and expect exp.

So something needs to be around to encourage normal camps to fight at. (Think Dunes Parties, Yhoater Parties, etc)

Eureka is just quantity over quality. After some time of farming crystals its easy to feel a burn out because nothing is really fun in waiting at fate spots and killing mobs over and over again for muh points.
Alongside SQE should also invest in making Eureka more fun at least.

Since I hit 20 in there(sometime ago...I have some 21+ feathers still, and am only missing 7 of the weapons) I just enter Eureka once a day, trying not to burn myself out, for at least 2 hours, and shout that I'm looking for a party...then choose my class once I am in a party to what is needed. More often than not I'm on DRK because they don't have that role filled. But before that, I was a res mage - partly for the achievement, and partly because I could help by bringing people who could do damage back from beyond.

Again it depends what kind of gamer you are -.-;...

Example; I consider my self a casual semi hardcore. I focus on achievements and love relics. Endgame is nice for the story yet I would not really want to do it for every job. I have maybe if I'm lucky 5 hours to play. If a person has a goal ( doing all relics by the way ) I know it will extremely repetitive killing the fun ratio. So yeah First time around can be fun, however based on your style yes it will get boring. After a remake, two expansions, daily roulette, hunts, ect I would think people would understand that this game is repetitive and can have times were it may not be fun. Try doing all relics, from Zodiac ( before nerf )to Animas (in the process need 5 more by the way) to current....you think that was fun for me -.-. I only do things in between patches out of boredom or may 1hr a day now since I've completed just about everything I'm interested at the moment. On the other hand...

Casual players may have less time and may not really want to burn trough content right away either do to personal time, RL , ect. May not want to level up all jobs and really just do it with friends. So would be more fun, however too many spoiled players out there complain that it's not fair to them and in reality just want to be carried or want something for just logging in rather than putting effort.

Most RPG games specially online would be repetitive in one way or another. In a perfect world every run and game would be fun...back to reality yeah not for these types of games. Players will never be satisfied, maybe for a bit...yet once it's done ones everyone will start complaining in one way or another.

Come 5.0, if it stays relevant that long, Eureka will just be a distant memory anyway. It will go the way of everything finite in this game, it will die, but people will probably just do it just for the sake of glamour, since glamour is the real endgame anyway.

TBH they’ll probably make adjustments to the treasure boxes and dump all the good stuff to the point where you have too much.

They mentioned needing to fight specific mobs, I put my money on a return of the animus books for the next step, requiring a mixture of anemos and pagos enemies

That said the concern is real if Anemos will remain devoid of activities

Right now I just REALLY want to be able to help a low level farm mobs to get them high enough to benefit from the train. The best I can do is kart them around. I didn't realize how bad this was until trying to help my wife level when she was getting horrid exp from the bulk of the hunts, and completely unable to do more than revive and heal while looking out for angry mobs.

Only 9? That's surprising since I've only been seeing full instances since Eureka came out. The only time I've seen dwindling numbers is when the instance has closed itself to new arrivals to get ready for a reset since SE's system has instances not be permanent and constantly open. Whatever remaining fate mobs are left to spawn are usually taken down and then everyone leaves to hop into another instance.

I would like to add to this. Once I got what I wanted out of Eureka, I intentionally de-leveled just so I could help lower leveled players out. Maybe get a low lev party that ran close to the train where we could actually kill mobs that would give us exp. Aside from no one wanting to do that when they could just stand there and do nothing instead, I was only able to delevel to 10, not quite low enough to help out those just starting out but too low to be about to power then through things.

A Party Sync feature is desperately needed. As well as a buff to mob exp or some other method to discourage the NM train. I could be wrong but I dont think the NM train was what the devs intended for this content but until they actually speak up about it, we will never know.

You guys are aware what determines XP amounts beside level differences right?

Other groups of different levels if they hit mobs they screw up xp is one of the major factors. They think they are helping when in reality they only become a nuisance.

If you Duo XP chains are usually faster to lvl 10 and can get there in few hours, with new nerf you can hit lvl 20 if your in a decent NM train as a healer you can reach lvl 15 in maybe 2-3 full nm fate runs ( all nms available ) and 15-20 in about 5-9 full NM rotation runs.

It's also better to have no more than a 3 lvl difference between party members, the more difference there is the less crystal drops their will be. By lvl 15 pls gap does not really matter. Only problem is how many people go afk on the side -.-;

NOTE De-leveling is probably one of the worst things you can do. Your better of just helping them solo and heal on the side or be leader of NM train group and just have them join once fate pops. Hopefully they stay close by -.-.

lol, you just explained why i tried to de-level. Had i been able to go as low as 6 it would have been a little better but still, I shouldnt have to even consider doing that just to be on par with my friends and effectively help them out.

Repetition is the benchmark for everyone MMO, and game to some extent. The developers can only produce so much at a given time no matter their funding. That being said, Eureka severely lacks in creativity and innovation. We aren't even offered some form of objective to break up the monotony. You have literally two options: grind trash mobs which highlights the absolute worst aspects of XIV's combat system or essentially afk until a NM spawns. One can argue Eureka isn't for everyone but when one of the most popular pieces of gear is locked behind participating, it's rather apparent the intent is for everyone to partake. And Eureka, despite having a decent foundation, is poorly designed in its current inception.

A significant problem is the aforementioned trash mob grind. XIV is at its best when employing mechanics the player is expected to execute while maintaining damage, healing or enmity. As trash mobs have little beyond auto attacks, this forces the player to do nothing except press 1-2-3 and inevitably win. Put simply, XIV's combat isn't good on its own but flows well through mechanical variance. Less mobs in general but actual mechanics would be a huge stepping forward for Eureka, if they intend to keep this grind.

-.- yeah friendships are nice, however there is a difference in being nice and lacking common sense. Just like FFXI you could of probably power level them up from side lines I got a friend healing them and they solo to 10 in about an 1hr -.-

The other part was to see if I could even get enough people together to play eureka "properly" but after 3 days of trying, I couldnt even get a light party to stay. They all preferred to go and afk in the NM train instead. Also wanted to see if i lost my tele, lost my mount, and lost my magia points. Nope, it all stayed. but yeah, i'm just a idiot, thanks for pointing that out for me ;)

Not sure if I agree. Kind of funny when trash mobs wipe parties in older content and newer with so call auto attacks. IF you compare patch notes there has been several changes since v1.0. Same foundation, but from what I can tell it's more of a perspective. Seriously though, players think they know their jobs when in reality can't even grasp the simple 101's. Yes they may be trash mobs, but I just think is more of players who are the jokes. They can't follow simple mechanics, can't follow marked mobs, and then blame mentors , tanks, or healers. Eureka proofs that they can't even sneak around and just follow aimlessly a train with the expectation people will carry them. Eureka demonstrates how much players lack common sense, can't tank properly, can't avoid aoes from fate mobs, can't even sneak past mobs who are pretty much blind, and even fail to understand the simple rule that DPS jobs who are not within a certain level of fate difficulty are just a hindrance rather than a benefit. From all of these post the one thing that it mainly comes down to is that people hate what they don't fully understand, or are used to it and get burned out.

True some things could be improved, however suggestions are more helpful than negative comments. Alternative resolutions from a player is better than seeing useless post of " I hate it so I quit" as many people have seen in forums. SE has a lot oto learn maybe having Yoshi get all weps and armor might help him see a better picture :P

I think this is the very crux of the game more sothan the lack of innovation. You hit the nail with this phrase on the problem that imho is at the very core of everything.
Ppl still do ultimate even with all the weapons because the find the fight fun even though they wiped on it countlessly that they should be sick of it, yet they still do it because they find it fun.
Can't say the same for mobs in the open

There is one low-level Eureka FATE boss fight I am somewhat concerned about. The Sabotender boss has 100,000 Needles. It would have been fine as a DPS-check like interrupt similar to The Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard)'s second boss. Unfortunately for parties with less than 4 people, the move in Eureka is a stack mechanic to split the damage between party members.

I'm level 17 now and in my short but intense time with Eureka I gained an appreciation for the cooperation aspect in this harsh environment. I really feel like it's made in a way that encourages high level players to take care of low level players. Lots of resurrecting, escorting people with 2 seat mounts which you get extremely late, helping people to get from A to B without teleports etc etc and once you reach a high level you can give the same back to low level players. I hope the naturally decreasing playerbase won't destroy this relationship.

As if they haven’t thought of this beforehand....

I do believe the next addition to Eureka will be a different zone so those currently at max level will be going there. So yes i could see some concern that players would have, i guess we will need to see.
They should really make it easier for solo or duo players as example to get more exp
