This mog is an Archer it can target you and dps with ranged attack, sometimes you'll see a Red (purple) target on you, this means "eagle eye shot" is imminent. This ws can one shot you easily and do near 2k damage, the best way to avoid it is to use Decoy asap (you have 6 sec), you can also run far away from him, but it's difficult cause of his range. Sometimes it will use "chameleon" to reset the hate. Even if you hold the hate on it, he rarely follows you, he just moves everywhere on the map.

This one is the BRD mog, he can cast a song on another moogle and it changes into "rage mode" and becomes a BIG MOG. The player who has the hate on the Brd mog will be attack by the BIG MOG while he's in "rage mode" (near 30sec).It's not dangerous to hold the hate on the BRD mog, he rarely attacks you and doesn't have strengh and power; the only difficulty is to avoid and run away from the BIG MOG. After the 30sec of "rage mode" the mog will get the hate back on a new target, and it's easy for the tank to get it at this time , so be patient.
While a moogle is a BIG MOG , he has invulnerability.
A BIG MOG can be "Bind" ; the effect disapears when the mog changes size.
A BIG MOG can't use WS. Each big moogle uses only auto attack but hits really hard (1k dmg), and 1.5k dmg for the king so make sure to run far away.

This THF mog can use :
1/ AoE drain MP on a large circle area. It's really important to avoid this attack cause it absorbs more than 400-700mp each time.
2/ It can use a piercing WS which petrifies the target during 10sec. A player with "stoneskin" can' be petrified.This mog is one of the most dangerous in the arena, and he can easily drain your PT out of mp, and it's extremely dangerous for the tank to be petrified. The entire PT must stay far away from this mog. Like WHM or Archer mog , he rarely follows his main target. It's pretty easy to avoid or kite this mog.

Pom Flare- AoE magic 1500 dmg in a really big circle area (casting time 4-5 sec). The best way is to stay far away from this mog, his cast can be interrupted with a lot of dps (crit hit) or using shield bash attack with GLD. This mog is the main target for all dps , you must kill it asap as it's one of the most dangerous moogles, "stoneskin" will help you absorb a lot of dmg from his flare.

He can use a simple attack ws with his staff but it doesn't do a lot of damage. Each time you kill a mog, the King will learn assume all of his abilities, with more potency. When a player (who isn't tank) has the hate on the king he "must" run and kite , his auto attack is really strong. He often uses a move which resets the hate and chooses a new target in the arena, you must keep an eye on it, this king is a pain for all players. While the king is not dead, all player must take care for each tp move. The king moogle can't be "bind" or "stun".
4/Sequence of this fight:
Phases of this fight :
Phase 1 :
The PLD mog will wait for you at the east of the arena each other mog will pop one by one 40-50 s after you engage the PLD.
Memento Phase:
If you kill all the moogles or take too much time to kill them all (like 5min and 30sec), all the moogles "gather together" in the middle of the map and summon the King moogle, and he will use Moogle Memento.
Like the fight versus ifrit (and the nails) the astral flow (memento) has a power equal to the number of moogles you killed during the phase 1 : If you kill all the mooglse before memento, the memento will hit you with low power (400-500dmg). If you don't kill 1 or 2 mogs , you must use "sentinel" and dmg will be absorbed (800-2200dmg). If more than 2 mogs survive, only GLD with full hp and full buff (shield stoneskin sentinel rampart) can resist it's like (4000 - 9999dmg).
Before Memento when moogles are down all the players must regroup and cast some buffs, with proper timing.
It's also really important : all players must use "chameleon" to reset his hate from all mogs , thanks to that the tank can easily hold the hate on a lot of mogs during phase 2. CNJ use shroud of saints if necessary.
Phase 2 :
Once the memento's over, all the mogs will attack their main target.
At this time, dps must avoid mogs if they get hate on them, and dps their main target (make an order). For the GLD tank , you must do the best you can during the 2 first min. MAR + KING + ARC are your main targets, you must keep the hate on them, dont waste time to trying to hold the hate on all others moogles like BLM or THF if it's first on your kill order. If you use a THM on your setup it's really important to wait for the 1st wardrum of the tank before "Bind-ga" all the arena.
5/ Strategies:
a) Differents setup can be used : The most popular setup is 1 GLD, 2 CONJ, & 5 ARCH it's a really powerfull strategy for new players, or inexperienced players, you can easily clear the fight if you can avoid all flares/mognesias from the king and thf.
When you get more experience, one archer can hold the hate on the BRD, thx to that he removes all BIG MOGs on the arena , and he can continue to dps while he's far from the fatest mog.
We also use a "bind" order with all our archers, we only focus the GLD mog , and he's "bind" all the time he's not on our tank. If you can bind it with the "combo ws" instead of use shadowbind as simple ws, the time of "bind" is x2. (near 30sec).
Most skilled players will use a really safe strategy , but you need really good organization , the setup is 2 GLD , 2 CONJ , 4 ARCH.
Even if you lose 1 dps , you can "straight tank" all the moogles thanks to the 2 GLD , and the fight is faster.
The main GLD, gets King + PLD , and the second tank gets MAR + ARC , on the opposite side of the map. Both get 1 healer , and straight tank with "sanguine rite" , you must save your sentinel in case one of your Mog is BIG and attacks you (yeah it's possible even if the BRD doesn't have hate on you) cause you will have too much hate with this strategy.
Stoneskin is really helpful, you can also cast on you sacred prism + cure for maximum hate. Use decoy if you see a Target on you, the melee attack doesn't reset it and you will avoid the "eagle eye shot".
An other setup often used is THM method (1 GLD, 2 CONJ, 4 ARCH, 1 THM) during phase 1 you can easily kill the PLD mog who has a low resistance vs magic attack , on phase 2 the THM can "Bind-ga" all the mogs. This strategy really works , but you need a skilled and experienced THM.
b) Strategies by Phase :
Phase 1/
What you must do :
- if you have enough DPS, kill them all
- if you can't kill all mogs , store tp on PLD mog , let the GLD build hate on it , and just kill all the others.
Memento Phase/
Before MEMENTO "regroup" :
- 1 CONJ cast Sacred prism + stoneskin,
- 1 CONJ use Curaga if necessary and cast protect.
- 1 GLD cast "rampart" and cast sangine rite on him if no other player Sacred Prism's it.
- 1 ARC cast swiftsong.
- 1 ARC can use stoneskin + sacred prism after the memento.
All players must use "sentinel" if it's necessary , the main GLD can use Flash + Sacred prism + cure after that , and he can build max hate.
Phase 2/
Archers must dps their main target asap, they dont need to cure themselves at start as they will receive an extra cure and stoneskin after the memento. The team must keep a maximum concentration for these 2min especially, it's time to kill the 2 first moogles. Mage must run far away from BLM and THF and have a close watch on them.
c) Kill order - Phase 2 :
Each PT have their strategy with the kill order; there's no "best order", make sure to choose something strategic with your team.
This is our order with the "simple setup" 5 ARC 1 GLD 2 CONJ:

The goal of this strategy is to kill the 2 most dangerous moogles at start in less than 3min(BLM then THF). After that we switch to the BRD who often casts his ws to enable "rage mode" because BIG MOGs can be an issue with your kill order (If BRD casts his ws on the THF at start , dont waste time on the dps, switch target and kill BRD instead), you will switch again to the THF when the BRD is down) . Once those 3 mogs are down , the fight starts to be easy mode ! ; as long as the King is avoided you can't wipe. No one other moogle can wipe the PT, cause they don't use powerful ws. Even if the archer one shots a player, you just need to simple raise him.
So remember that if you want to kill fast and give a simple strategy for your party :
- 1 dps your main target in the kill order.
- 2 avoid King's AoE.
Moogles can use some ws and create some death combo so try to avoid these:
- bard + thf (petrification + BIG MOG),
- thf + gld ( petrification + dps gld),
- thf + arc ( petrification + dps archer, you can't use "decoy" while you are petrified)
Tank tips and dangers:
- The main danger is the petrification from the Thf or the king moogle. Your healers must keep you alive until the effect wears off.
- Kiting is a good solution, but for max hate you must sometimes stop to straight tank 10 sec, make sure to use all your skill , and save your sentinel for straight tanking 4 or 5 moogles, it can be really dangerous. Never use this strategy if the king is a BIG MOG.
- A good kiter must stop at each extremity of the map!!! You must stop to wait for moogles to catch up to you.
If you never stop running, they will be far away, and sometimes too far away, so they will cross the battlefield to catch you , and they can use AoE in the middle of the map ! You'll mpk your PT !!!
Experienced players is the best way to clear this fight, regardless of the setup, as long as you avoid the right mogs and everyone dps the right target, you can do it.

Kill order is more of a what your party is good at kinda thing.
Also, going all melee DD works too. Bringing a lot of mages also works too. Really tired of this "Arc onry" stuff people shove down everyone's throats. -

Idk how it works on other servers but I take mine as example ^^ If you have a LS, you'll have no problem completing moogle fight (needs only 2-3 bind class) but you'll need to watch carefully BLM aoe to avoid them. But yes pgls works fine plus GLA is really weak to magic so it can help a lot on him (I think it's fist of fire the best not sure).
If you want to do this fight on pick up pt, you will maybe have a lot of trouble finding a pt who accept pgls simply because it's easier for unexperimented player to go as archer (no need to watch a lot for mobs aoe and easier to do combos since moogles keeps moving ><)
Edit: Just saw the post before me about pgl burn pt. I was talking of a regular pt here and not about stacking plgs (no clue about this pgl strat ^^) -

1.) Might be handy to know the special moves by their name so you can see it in the battle log and know to prep accordingly:
Mognesia - thief moogle's MP Drain
Maxi Moogle - Bard song that blimps the moogles
Moogle-go-round - marauder moogle's spinning aoe attack
Whisker Bash - gladiator moogle's pacification attack
Moogle Eye Shot - archer moogle's eagle eye shot attack
2.) Reallllly surprised that you guys put Furryfoot so low on your priority list for kill order. As his cures generally give back 2k+ hp, we aim to kill him right after Pomburner because the longer the moogles are left alive, the more dangerous they are, and the more mp and arrows are used up. -

In my ls we are doing the same kill order since start (not necessairly this strat but this kill order) We found that whm doesnt cure so much and when we kill him too fast, the king comes a lot more in the middle of the room to heal others and sometimes pom-flare before he returns on tank. Plus, to save mps and dps, we found much better to kill thf in 2nd since he drains 700+ mp, stands almost always in the middle of the room (hard to avoid) and petrifies one of our DDs. The Brd is also a pain when he maxi-moogle ^^ and hits 1k hp.. dds can't always notice they have a big moogle before he hit themQuote:

Your guide is well designed, but what does it bring to the table that hasn't already been discussed to death? There are already several guides floating around that cover this fight with the cookie cutter setup. Show me a video of you tackling it with a mix of different DDs and now you have my interest.
This really is for everyone to be honest. I hear a lot of talk about "oh we did it two Marauders" or "we did it without Archers" but I have yet to see any videos. Show me your stuff folks! -

I would like to note, as a CNJ, that having both conjurers nuke during phase 1 is very helpful. Simply have both CNJ go into Cleric Stance and nuke on phase one. The more moogles you get down in the beginning, the weaker Memento will be. Of course, these CNJ must also pay attention to health (that is their first priority), but nuking helps too. Saving time also means you're less likely to run out of it should you get unlucky on phase 2 and have to waste your time raising/recovering.
Don't forget to turn Cleric Stance OFF before phase 2. I usually do it during the 6th moogle (there are 7 little ones in total) so I don't forget to later on. Have one CNJ use Sanguine Rite and another CNJ use Stoneskin on the group before Memento is cast. This should make the start of phase 2 go very smoothly. Once the 7th small moogle is down, everyone should gather together on one side so that these buffs will hit everyone. You'll have between 5-10 seconds to pull this off before Memento hits you.
If you, at any point, have more than 2 up at a time during phase 1, you probably won't be able to kill them all before phase 2. So, keep an eye out for when all of the moogles spawn for Memento, stoneskin everyone, and pray you don't die. -
