Selling land

Hi i have a small plot i do not need in omega but can't give it up as i lose 3m it be nice of we can sell land back to the game for maby 60% of the land price

If you let the plot auto-demolish, you will get back 80% of the price you paid for the plot. That being said, it would be nice if people could get a little something back for “selling back” their land to the game rather than being forced to either lose it all, or wait out the 45-day timer for 80%.

if you think about this and we can get support it will stop house flipping aka selling

House selling is likely already solved, unless people somehow crack the random timer that's now placed on all houses that are relinquished/reclaimed. Or if sellers can convince rubes to buy plots despite the fact that they can't guarantee they'll actually be able to purchase them.

For your initial point, there should absolutely be an option to immediately relinquish your plot and get the same amount of gil back that you would if the house was reclaimed. Not having that option just means that some houses will only be available 45 days later than they could be.

Selling isnt solved since we get nothing back when we release the plot. I really wished SE had implemented a system for this. Flipping would never happend then.

You can no longer flip houses unless you're selling to someone that doesn't understand the way the new timers work. The seller can in no way guarantee that the buyer will actually be able to purchase the plot the relinquish, since it won't be available for sale until a random timer finishes.

I think that, even if you could sell back properties to the game, people would have still flipped houses. Just out of pure greed. House flippers never sell the plot for what they paid, but for double or triple the price to make profit off of them.

You should just give it up 3M is nothing in this game, you can make that inless than a day if you focus on money.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't house flipping still work since relocaters don't have to wait on the timer? Maybe not for new buyers but for people relocating it still works?

Try to read past the title. He's talking about selling a house back to the server, not a player. I.e.- instead of waiting 45 days for the auto demo, you get the 80% back as soon as you relinquish. Actually, he even said he would take 60%.

this is not about selling to players its about selling back to the game or getting some money back from the land price so them that want to give up there plot do not lose all the money in no way do i support house flipping

You also forgot that relocation isn't blocked by the RNG timer. Super easy for people with a house to relocate to "dream home" locations.

People are selling it higher now for FC + House atm via reddit. Shows what kind of hell Square Enix unleashed.

anyone that Sells a house out side of the game is Scum and i have no love for house flippers this post has gotten off topic ok this is about making it so we dont have wait 45 days for 80% money back aka Selling Back to the game its self that's all i ask is for Sq to think about this is it more fare on us players and to maby stop flippers as well

as i said this post is not about house to player selling its about getting some money back when you give up you'r land say you want to change server but you have a house and you can not move as you own that house instead of waiting 45 says to get 80% of land back make it so we can give up the plot and get some thing back READ THE POST NEXT TIME

As far as I am aware it is completely against the rules to try to sell plots.

The reason for this is that once you relinquish ownership of the plot of land, it is not yours to sell any more. You can not sell something that you do not own, and someone else could legally buy the land plot before your 'customer' has the opportunity to buy the plot.

This thread isn't about selling the land to another player, but back to the game for a portion of the gil you paid for it. Say you want to transfer servers, but you have a 19 million gil Medium plot. You either wait 45 days to transfer so your plot can auto-demolish and you receive 80% of your 19 million back, or you demolish it outright to transfer sooner and get back 0%. The OP is asking for a way to sell your plot back to the game, not to another individual.

Typically you never actually paid for the plot anyway. All you really did was pay someone to relinquish there hold on it. So you could then buy it from the system.

But in a controversial view I've always said they should have had a legitimate exchange system since day 1.
I.e if I don't want/need my house anynore I could directly transfer ownership to one of my tenants and let them take over it. Especially if they've helped decorate it.
along with allowing tenants to reset the demo timer if I'm away for a couple of months and there using the house everyday it shouldn't get repossessedas the plot is still being used daily.

There are many things wrong with housing but the fact players sold, exchanged and swapped plots is not one of them.

Especially when a lot of people would ideally like a house near there friends or fcs instead of being scattered all over the place. A legitimate exchange system would have been great.

To get back on track, yes I'd like to see at least some of the money given back (we do get 30% of the minimum value for relocation). As others have said if you let it auto demo you get 80% back or something of the sorts. Why not give an option to speed up that auto demolition to within 24 hours or so just in case you change ur mind. Totally helps the community get new owners back in faster and avoids the hassle of owners having to wait 45 days.

Bump all so how the hell is some off the other post making complaints more better then this one all i am trying to do is better the dam game by getting support so we do not have to wait the 45 days to get 80% back

Not sure I understand? Flipping happened because people were greedy not because it was a person who bought a house and got bored with it. Flipping is when someone deliberately buys a house in order to sell it for a huge markup on the original price, for example selling a small that cost less than 5mil for 100mil.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, you're suggesting that allowing people to get gil from SE for selling their house back would prevent people from selling their plot to other players. However, even if SE implements this (which I agree they should) it would not give enough gil back to satisfy flippers who are trying to make exorbitant amounts of gil in one go.

I personally don't think it was an issue if someone was selling their house to another player after they decided they couldn't or didn't want to keep it, provided they sold it for a reasonable price. For example, my friend's large house was about 45mil and someone offered him 100mil to buy it. He considered it but rejected the offer because he actually loves his house. When considering that 45mil of that cost is simply refunding him for the price he paid on the plot and the remaining amount is the actual gain... he isn't gaining all that much. Especially considering he owns plot 30 in Shirogane. However, buying a house with the intent to sell it for profit is the real issue and this suggestion wouldn't fix that at all.

Don't get me wrong though. I think this is a great suggestion and should be implemented.

Selling homes with FCs attached to it, or just selling outright to a person looking to relocate to a more desirable plot are still a thing! Just take a look! This is why people looking to relocate their house should be put behind the same RNG timer.

RMTs will use absolutely anything to their advantage that's the hollowest argument out there. We need gil sinks though, beyond the shadow of a doubt. Housing used to be the biggest gil sink this game had and it's slowly but surely become less of one over time now...not so much. There are lots of little gil sinks out there but nothing as big as housing. That's worrisome. So every time I see a topic advocating more ways to get your money back from your house I wince just a little bit. Sure, I'd enjoy getting a nice rebate if I demoed my house because I was moving servers or something but ultimately the health of the economy is more valuable than the health of my wallet. I can always make more gil, no matter how long it takes me.

He's not wanting to sell his plot to a player; he's asking for a mechanism other than waiting 45 days to relinquish a plot he doesn't want or need and getting gil back from the game, the same as with the auto-demolish timer. He's not asking to breach ToS and what he's proposing frees up unwanted plots to folks who DO want one.
