Unable to Complete Version Check [30410][30607][10009][19900][12157]

When i start up my launcher i get "Unable to Complete Version Check [30410][30607][10009][19900][12157]" as an error message after i login in and then it boots me back to the login screen. i have no idea how to fix this and ive tried uninstall/reinstall.

- Frequency at which disconnect occurs

I play on pc, and ive played before, last time i logged on was probly earlier this month. The error im getting is a pop up on the launcher after inputting my password to login. It gives me the "Unable to Complete Version Check [30410][30607][10009][19900][12157]" and i press ok, and it throws me back to the login screen. I also run my ffxiv through steam, my OS is windows 7, my connection is wired, and this issue has only recently started occurring whenever i try to login on the launcher, ive also never dealt with this issue before. I have uninstalled/reinstalled and the same issue occurs.

Ive also tried as of today, Flushing my dns cache, changing the boot .ver file last digit to 0 from 1. Im just waiting on someone to come home to unlock to the room with the router and restart that and see if that works either.

Restarted my router, still no changes

I had similar problem and sadly changing user profile on your computer is the only known way to fix that problem... meaning I had to create another user profile on my computer just to update the game files... they need to fix that so customers don't have this problem in the future...

I tried that, no luck :(

I apologize that you are still having this issue. I would like to offer some suggestions.

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on Internet Explorer. Other times it occurs when an application that is running in the background is causing interference, such as Anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, etc.

Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.

Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
[SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
Please RESTART your PC now.


Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:

54992 through 54994,
55006 through 55007,
55021 through 55040

Find your specific router's brand and model number from the 'List of Routers' and you will be provided a step-by-step guide on how to access these port settings.
Otherwise, your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.


If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting them and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on
these ports.

Yes. Regardless of what browser you use in daily life, XIV's launcher borrows settings from Internet Explorer.

The internet explorer option didnt work so im gonna try port forwarding my router

Well, the person who has the router in their room doesnt think its the router and doesnt want to try port forwarding it. Any other ideas?

It sounds like you've tried everything we would normally suggest (except port forwarding, but you may have your hands tied with that). It may seem like a hassle, but can you try to update the game using a different connection? Maybe use a wireless hotspot or go to a friend's house? This will indicate whether the issue comes from the connection or the device.

I was able to get help with the person on port forwarding the router. Still no change, the error still persists.

So said person let me use their pc to download ffxiv and see if i can log in on, and it worked, it was able to start patching. I also reinstalled my nvidia drivers to see if that would help but that didnt fix my issue. At least i was able to fix out its device based

I put my ffxiv on another hard drive, and its still not working. Could steam be causing an issue? I dont know what to try doing at this point.

I tried seeing if i could update today and still no luck either.

This is really frustrating since the update is out and i cant even play the game Q_Q

I would really also want to avoid having to format my pc if i can, i have a lot of stuff thats on my hard drive and i want to avoid redownloading it if i can

Can you post your PC specs? The easiest way to do it is to use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, which you should already have if you have DirectX installed.

Press the Windows Key (usually bottom left, between Ctrl and Alt on the keyboard) and R at the same time
type in dxdiag
click OK
You should see a screen like this:

Click "Save All Information" and accept the default location (Documents folder).
Go to the location you saved the file and look for dxdiag.txt
Open dxdiag, copy all the information in it, and paste it here in a forum post

You can get around the forum 1000 character limit by editing posts. So you can make a placeholder post with some gibberish, edit it, paste the dxdiag results in, and save the edit. If it's a hardware/driver issue specific to your machine, knowing the parts involved will help troubleshoot. :)

I know that feel, I just wanted to play and the game wont even let me download shit. I mean I usually have trouble when a new patch comes but this is probably the worst yet.

Whats gonna happen to my house if i cant log on? wont i lose it?

Edit: Also we just switched isps 2 days ago and its still giving the same error.

I just noticed that in my windows, the folders for ffxiv(both in documents and steam), the properties options are set to read only, and when i uncheck and hit apply, i reopen the properties and see that its still checked as read only. Could this be causing my issue?

I don't think it is. I really think SE need to fix this issue with the patch because its getting ridiculous. If they keep suggesting for us to do shit that we shouldn't have to cuz its not our fault its not working properly I will seriously have a massive go at them.
