Do you think that SE should implement a system that can automatically kick the person that DC's in an instance after a certain amount of time passed if the party doesn't kick them/if they don't get back on soon? In case if a 24 man boss battle takes a while due to circumstances (too many deaths/raises), someone "accidentally" opening a chest before a kick can be initiated, they refuse to kick the them for any reason (not letting anyone join in progress and whatnot), or they fake DC.

No. The system works as is. The bigger issue is people imediately kicking someone when they d/c. If anything, you should have to wait atleast 5 mins before you can kick them.

There is already auto kick after 10 minutes of inactivity. Though it applies to someone who is online, not offline. They can just make the same rule apply to offline people.

Yes, people shouldn't be able kick someone after 10 sec after d/c. People have proven to me they can't handle it so there should be a few rules.
1. you can't kick someone before 5 minutes expires on d/c, and it would be no different how you can't kick/ vote abandon till a time has passed.
2. have it auto kick at 5 minutes because making a vote kick counts to your 4 hour quota and that is also messed up it does that.
3. There should be someway of being able kick someone who is really harassing people, pulling/not lotting stuff to block being kicked. -

I'd be more interested in the system letting ME "kick out" myself (not from party) if I get disconnected. As it is, the system takes a pointless amount of time to log me out, so that I can go back in.
Real disconnections would be a lot less painful for everyone if logging into an account would automatically "ping" the computer from which it was connected, and if it doesn't respond (as would happen after a disconnection), then log it out immediately logging in the player.
Sometimes I have to wait two, three minutes to get back on, and I can imagine the frustration of others if that happens twice or thrice.
Some of these "convenient" disconnections are possibly such extended log-out processes, too. I couldn't log in for well over five minutes once, before I just quit trying. The servers for FFXIV suck, and them apparently being perpetually attacked doesn't help. -

It's really annoying when I get DC'd in the middle of the dungeon, try to log back in, and get the "your character is still logged in please wait a few minutes" message. I think 5 minutes before having the server boot the player from the party (or letting the party kick the player) is pretty fair.Quote:

The flaw with auto kicking for offline is that it potentially gives everyone a workaround for avoiding the penalty for leaving a full party. Anything that's done also needs to take that into account.

People zoom into next boss = can't kick
So sometimes we end up with person offline the whole instance because we can never kick them which to me is stupid. -

Well with the current state of servers I give ppl the benefit of the doubt because nothing sucks more then waiting 20mins for something get in d/c than get kicked while you try to hurry up and log back in lol especially on PS4 you have to go through what seems like the slowest launcher ever....
