Can we change infuriate back please?

Can we go back to allowing infuriate without having engaged a target please. I've already posted the bug and it was accepted as a bug but it still has not been fixed. I can't be the only one encountering this bug and its alot more common than I thought. I have a few pictures of it happening with different mobs, even ixion.

If you do hunts on warrior sometimes infuriate will not be usable the duration of the fight for whatever reason. I can't remember specifically if it happened while leveling but I'm sure it did. It has not happened in a duty or raid yet so It must have something to do with field engaging.

It's very annoying and I just don't understand why infuriate was made to only be used engaged anyway? Are raid groups really going to wait 2 minutes after every wipe for a war to get a 100 beast gauge before they go in? Probably not.

Anyone can understand that it's because they don't want us to start every fight with 100 gauge.

I guess its because they don't want Warriors to start raid fights with 150.

The opener for every war would be to do their best to be the first person in, infuriate, hope for enough time to do again, and then once more during the FC opener. Not saying it's practical, but likely in their minds.

There's no real reason for WAR to have Infuriate out of combat in dungeons/raids since Unchained costs 0 gauge now. It'd only give us a stronger opener, which we don't really need.

That said, the hunt thing does need to be fixed. I can't see a sweeping change like allowing Infuriate out of combat again being the solution though.

Honestly I think it has something to do with enemies having targets that are not in your party or alliance which they engaged first. This would explain why it happens in fates, hunts, and other peoples enemies that you are assisting only. It might happen with alliances but I haven't tested it in any of the 24man raids.

They just have to change whatever code is used to flag "in combat" state. It's a common thing in many MMOs to get wrong, if based on agro lists.

Ideally, you mix it up: You are in an enemy's agro bar OR have executed an action offensive action against a hostile target in the last 5 seconds, OR have been the target of an offensive action in the last 5 seconds. If any is true: you are "In Combat"

can war have clemency and medica
can war get regen
can war get 100% counter rate
can war have a shield
can war cast fire 4
can war get a boost on dmg

feel like i see more "can war get/have" than anything else and war doesn't need anything
the beast gauge penalty was there to help hold war in check on dmg, now you want to remove the infuriate in combat? Fixing the bug is one thing, but making a job overpowered in the process isn't a good idea

You'd be surprised lol. Maybe not during progression, but people waited for double balance pulls when they aim for faster kill time, can't see why they wouldn't wait for 2 minutes.

You are underestimating how serious and hardcore people are about being the #1 highest damage Warrior/raid party. Trust me on this - people will wait. At the very least, some Warriors will be asking for it.

And if they ARE able to start off with a full beast gauge, it would be overpowered. Not completely broken the way some people might think, but it would definitely give Warriors an unfair advantage over the other tanks.

The only way this change would be possible is if we made the beast gauge decay after a while. Maybe make it lose 50 points after 60 seconds? And I don't just mean out of combat, either.

But this would mean each point of the beast gauge that you earn would have a lifespan of 60 seconds. Older points get spent first, so like if you used Infuriate, waited a little, used Upheaval, and then did a Storm's Path combo, you should have 60 left, and after some time you would only lose 30 because those other 30 came from the Storm's Path which is more recent.

Or make the beast gauge fill up with a different type of rage, and make THAT expire after 60 seconds.

But honestly I think this problem is just mildly annoying and not worth complaining about.

For the most part, WAR players are asking for things they already had. That sort of request seems common among many jobs.

That happens because you are not in the agro list of the mob, yes it is a bug and need fixing, but until they fix it, just open the fight with a tomahawk and you are fine.

WTF did I just read. Take this bullshit elsewhere. I would be fine with the bug fix but being out since release and still not fixed. I do alot of hunts on my war, so it has its affect on me. How would you like it if one of your major skills was buggy for no reason. For literally a whole expansion infuriate was never an issue but now that its been changed there's no going back because its an issue, ya okay.

Not worth complaining about... what?!

Either revert or fix it already. Why is it not worth complaining about? A skill can't be used for a whole fight and its not worth complaining about? I love this, all the stuff people are complaining about on the forums and I complain about a buggy skill and this is the community response. I guess there's always that one person.

I'll try it, but I would think using any action on the mob would put you on the aggro list.

Yes, not worth complaining about. Remember last week when you weren't able to open up fights with Unchained because you needed 20 points on your beast gauge? Or when you lost half of your current beast gauge whenever you changed stances?

Lemme ask you this - if you had to choose between fixing this glitch, or having the stance swap penalty back, which one would you pick?

Yeah, ideally we should be able to have both of them, but we don't. The difference is that one of those affects the playstyle of Warriors in every single aspect. Yours is just at the start of SOME fights.

And honestly? I actually don't even know where the hell you're coming from. Whenever I do hunts, my Infuriate is only down until I'm able to come up close and start hitting it. By the time I land Maim, it's definitely up. You're losing like 1-3 seconds. While doing hunts. Hunts.

So yeah, not worth complaining about. Especially when we have a skill that LITERALLY does nothing 99% of the time (100% of the time in raids and boss fights).

I mean, I guess on second thought it's not like... that important to me, it's just more of a "Yeah but why?" thing. The CD makes it too awkward to setup every single fight and if we're worried about what happens after a long pull, well... you can just immediately use it when you start the next fight. I dunno I guess I just don't see the purpose- I don't get the playstyle they're trying to nudge me toward with it.

It's pretty damn annoying honestly, but I guess I can see why they don't allow it.

War isn't op now...not even close. If you have all 3 leveled, you should know that pld is leagues ahead of the the other two, still. I don't have drk yet, but I do have the other two up and it is certainly true.

Back on topic, I feel the bigger issue is this causes us to be locked out of onslaught at weird times, a skill we feel like we should be able to use a little more freely.

I know I worded the thread more in regards to my opinion but people like Eydis and Bluexbird are completely missing the point here. THERE IS A GLITCH/BUG/PROBLEM/WHATEVER you want to call it with infuriate currently when it comes to fates but mostly hunts that can happen randomly cause I've yet to find the specific cause. I do hunts on my warrior 99% of the time cause its my favorite class. I don't care if you have all 3 leveled or never experience the problem. I GET IT FAIRLY FREQUENTLY and its my favorite class. This isn't a matter of making warrior OP, even though its NOT anyways. I just can't be the only one experiencing this problem, I can't see how my computer/skillbar/or something client side could cause this issue. Since some of you clearly don't understand the issue here's some pictures:

As you can clearly see.. I am on the hate list... mid rotation, with beast gauge.... and infuriate IS NOT HIGHLIGHTED and cannot be used! It stays this way the WHOLE fight! Maybe its not a big issue to you cause your not playing war often or whatever but this happens to me somewhat frequently. I'm going to start asking other wars if they encounter this problem. I'm not "crying", I just want a fix and simply reverting the skill back to non engage use would fix it the easiest way.

For hunts there can be so many people who generate aggro before you that you then don't fit onto the enemy's aggro table and never meet the condition to use infuriate. I know it sucks.

edit: like in the party list, you don't have a number like 2, 3, 4 of where you rank in aggro, you can't use the skill

You're not on the enmity list. Check your party list and look at the enmity bars under the job icons. Your enmity is so low that it doesn't register. It's a memory limitation that will probably never be fixed. The solution is to use Defiance because hunts are completely based on enmity generated, not dps done.

So that's what's causing it. Thank you. This is literally all I needed, I'll try starting the fight with some unchained and BBs if I'm not maintanking to get on the enmity list. Thank you for some actual helpful responses.

Maybe I haven't noticed this glitch because whenever I do hunts, I always try being the main tank. I know this is gonna sound silly, but I like the idea of knowing everyone else doing the hunt is seeing that the very big monster is focused on me. :p

So during hunts, as soon as someone pulls, I use Onslaught to get in there and go ham with Butcher's Block, so perhaps that's why I was always on the enmity list and never had problems with Infuriate.

And aren't hunts/fates rewards determined by aggro generated anyway? You'd want to being doing as much threat as possible on hunts to ensure you get max credit.
