Plz let us boost more then 1 job to 60. Id love to play a few diffrent jobs but I dont have the time to sink into leveling them. I already boosted an ast and got her fully geared and its a lot of fun. Would love to play some other jobs.

Same. I just want to boost MCH and NIN for the sake of completion so I don't have to level them again on my main; already done both on my alts.
You would not really completed anything if you just throw money at the game to do it. But that does seem to be gamers these days.Quote:
sake of completion
I think one is enough. ...more than enough actually.
they will be added in 4.1 or on a later time
Yes please SE, I want a limited ed digital copy with max lvl everything when I install and log in. Please SE...
where exactly is your problem? everyone should decide that for themselves wether they should buy a jump potion or not
there are people not enjoying farming POTD all the day long, you know?
i actually like it lvling and getting my jobs one by one to 70, and thats why i won't buy a jump potion - but there are other people with other opinions
everyone should decide for themselves how they'd like to enjoy the game.
i truly can't understand some peoples attidute nowadays on the forums
Lol stop over exaggerating. Boosting jobs to 60 is far from pay to win. Some of us are actually busy in real life and dont have time to lvl jobs from the beggining. I have a healer but i would love to have a dps and tank. I just dont have time to level both from the start. This change would have no negitive effect on the game either so I dont see why not.
How would you have time to level those then lol.
Hate to say it, but MMOs are typically designed to actually take time. Not saying that you shouldn't be playing, but it isn't something that you would normally just "pop on for a few matches" the way you would with a FPS/TPS.
Yeah...a lot more manageable...considering you need a TOTAL of 29.5million EXP to get from 1-60, then only 70.5million EXP to get from 60-70. You can EASILY grind out the 1-60 before the 60-70.
But, if you want to spend money on it(missing out on a LOT of good story...and some bad) that is up to you, but personally I don't see how the jump potions(unless you're learning ALL The mechanics that went into the fights, and being proactive in bettering yourself) being a benefit to the community as a whole.
i think there is a difference between just "pop up a few matches" and lvling all jobs to 70, you can't simpy compare that, since lvling job takes a long time
i think op's a midcore player, who cant play everyday and everynight, maybe after work? you can't tell him to stop playing, if he hasn't got the same time schedule as you
-what missing story? nobody spoke about storyquest jump potion -> thats a whole different story
-what mechanics? POTD sure has so many mechanics you are missing, hasn't it? potd is the most braindead way to lvl up, there wont be any mechanics missed
Or maybe a better way than asking for more on mogstation, would be to ask for higher exp scrolls, more exp buff gear, maybe even materia that increases exp, higher tier FC buffs, increase exp from dungeons and quests pre 60. You know the free s**t that should come as standard :P
Well iv played a lot of mmos and I really enjoy this one. I understand how they are generally a time sink but there should be an option for someone like me who had already leveled a job to 70, compleated the main story(without paying to skip it). Id love to try some other jobs but just dont have time to start from the beggining due to real life.
As for the xp thing. It takes way less time to level for 60 to 70 then 1 to 60. I already know the mechanics and I know how mmos work so the time to lvl from 60 to 70 is sufficient to allow me to get a good grasp on my abilities for my job. Granted I wont know every little tip and trick by the time I hit 70 but I would be in a good enough spot to not hinder my groups
I never said they shouldn't play.
And not sure if the jump potions skip all the class quests or not, and those DO have story in them, so yes, it is potential that there is skipping of story if it does skip them.
As for mechanics that are being missed. The number 1 that is ALWAYS messed up is the massive "stack on this person" circle. 9/10 I see the person with it run AWAY from the group who is then chasing them causing DPS to drop, stacks to fall off, and everyone getting frustrated, or running OUT of it when the person it's targeting gets close.
Sorry but jump potions are a mistake because its allowing even worse tanks, dps, and healers to jump up to where they do not know mechanics and drag down the rest of the group. Mechanics they would of learned over time leveling the class normally.
It also means that in the future classes will need to be simplified even more to take into account these people do not know how to play their classes. The same route that WoW went down.
Anyways, sorry for this comment. I know it hurts alot of peeps. Back to topic, I totally feel 1 potion per account is good enough. SE could in another way create Exp potions that double or triple exp gain from all quests/duty roulettes that maybe last for 1-3 days or most a week. I think this way will help a lot of casuals. Admittedly doing potd from 60-70 is a real grind when at 69-70 you need to do floor 51-100x3.
No, the first part is definitely true. Leveling AST lately has been painful because of people not knowing how to play their jobs, and it inevitably turns out they used a jump potion. I mean, it's convenient for you, but keep in mind that, unless you're willing to put the time in to learn how to properly play the job, skills you would have picked up in the normal leveling process, it's probably inconvenient for the people who are queued with you.
Most people that are in defense of jump potions are more pissy then the one against it, and can we stop using "I have job and a life" good for you so do most other people that play this game also.
You get an armoury bonus to EXP. You can get a bunch of items that boost your EXP below certain levels. Everyone else leveled their classes without potions, why should someone be able to buy everything to 60 without trying?
I'm all for someone getting one class boosted to catch up, since there's a butt load of quests, I disagree with anyone getting more than one class boosted.
I was against these in the first place. True to form, people are now asking to be able to buy more than one. Surprise.
No.
The gear that boosts your exp isnt really all that helpful. Once you start getting up in levels the stats on them are so low the amount of time it takes to kill a mob negates the xp bonus. You could wear them in a dungeon but then your group has to carry you through the entire thing while your useless.
Maybe if they gate the 60 job boost behind compleating the main story questline or say something that proves they know the mechanics of not only this game but mmos in general.
This, if they could also pass a basic personality test that stops them from going mental when you try and help them, that'd be cool too.
It sucks waiting 30 mins on a dps to have a run fall apart because the tanks arguing with the healer about who pays who's sub because neither of them know how to play the game properly.
If you're one of the people that have taken time to look at the basics of how the game works in group play and are open to learning: I'm sorry but you're the vast minority.

We have now 4.01, not 4.1
I wouldn't mind being able to buy more as long as the additional jumps are locked somehow. Maybe design it so that you need to have a character who already has the job at 60+ before you can buy it, limiting it to leveling alts up.
This way, you have your one potion that can be used regardless of what jobs you already have leveled and thus can be used to catch up to friends. Then you have the additional ones for leveling alts (or making alts to level a job via MSQ then paying money to get that job on your main leveled up which shouldn't be an issue since you would have done the 1-60 work this time around).
The you are extremely lucky. I have had many pleasant DF runs but also quite a few that left a sour taste in my mouth. Yesterday morning I tried to help a friend clear Royal Menagerie and we sent the entire hour wiping because the tanks 1. Didn't want to wait for mechanic explanations (didn't even want to wait for Protect--literally charged head first into the fight each time the barrier dropped), and 2. After we explained mechanics, died 5 out of the 6 pulls we managed between dying and bickering to Tidal Wave, the very first mechanic.
Bad players will be bad, potion or no potion. But my experience with jump potion users (I have been with a few) is that they didn't bother to take the time to read any of the basics of their job they just jumped to 60 (and all of them were tanks, too). Of course, this is true for non-potion users as well, so it's not just a potion-user epidemic. Personally, I don't mind seeing the use for them on alts, but for new characters, it kind of defeats the purpose of the game: pay to play the game, and then pay for a potion to...not play half of the game (the leveling aspect of it)?. I know people want to get to end game to play with friends, but if they had good friends, said friends would still do leveling content with them regardless of their own max level, and still make the entire experience (not just the end game aspect of it) enjoyable.
Not everyone uses PotD. I would only use it to finish off a level if I was close enough that running 10 floors would push me over that edge. Otherwise, I avoided it 99% of the time(used it to get 2 weapons - one of which went to Kinna level) unless it was something just to hang out with friends, in which case I went on a maxed level class to farm tomes(may not be the best, but a good speed run will net you a decent amount - 340 for doing 51-100)
Did you ever ask the people who did a great job if they used a jump potion...not enough data, pretty one sided if you ask me
You may be okay with tedious redundancy, but I'm not. I no longer play my alts. I want to merge everything onto one character. If I want to pay money for that to save time, it's my own damn business. I know how to play those classes already.
Guess it doesn't matter, anyway, 4.1 is unlocking it to begin with, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ guess you'll have to deal with it.
