We deserve a compensation

First we had that awesome early access then we got long queues, and now finally the DF is down in a game that depends on instances.
Can we get some form of compensation, whether it is in game time or something from the mogstation, because this is just BS when this game is a sub based game coming out and saying "we are sorry for the inconvenience" each time in a game you pay for doesn't work.

Well, not trying to defend them, but if it's really a DDoS attack it's not 100% their fault all this stuff is happening.

This! I have no issues with login queues, as they have to balance the load somehow. BUT if oyu manage it through the queue and STILL have no working instancing, something is severely wrong and saying "sorry" doesnt cut it, as it is not early 2000 anymore

Fine if they are still getting DDoS'd its not their fault, but what their fault is that we are still being charged days we are paying for, if they make the days free then u'd understand, not paying for days u can't even play

Not sure how new you are to online gaming and expansion times, this is normal. It's out of their control and the ddos attacks are just trolls. People pay subscriptions, it's common sense that new content would flood the servers with old / current / returning players. Some things are out of their control do something else while waiting. Play a hand held, read up , and accept that everyone is dealing with this. Players even go afk just to avoid resigning in which in a way can do if they choose unless their connection is cut. They have even tried compensating players to move to other servers and the perks are pretty nice.

Based on what I am seeing in-game, there may be some residual impact of DDOS attacks, but the major thing is that we are seeing many more players returning than perhaps they expected. So over the course of the game since ARR we may have had as many as six million player accounts, at least 80% of which were legitimate players. But active player stats scraped from the Lodestone showed much lower numbers for players actively subscribed over the life of HW. With the returning players campaigns and the launch of StormBlood with Red mage *and* Samurai, the game appears to be attracting a fairly significant number of returning players , and new players.

I suspect that we are experiencing what is known as a very healthy player population that exceeds expectations.

Sorry to tell you Manuel but i'm not new at all to MMO's and played WoW for 11 years, in WoW launches it starts off worse than this, butttt it gets fixed in 2-3 days and sometimes they even re compensate the days you couldn't play, and another thing maybe I don't want to do anything else?
The game is a subscription game it shouldn't be having problems like this for 10 days now since early access started.

You fully agreed to the fact that access to the servers can be interrupted at any time when you accepted the ToS in order to play. SE is doing what they can to mitigate and fix issues. That fact that people are still using the DF and playing is more than indicative that SE isn't going to give people compensation for something like this.

Hmm I don't really think we do. Does the game run away from you? Nah.

True but a good company would still offer even the most insignificant thing for any inconvenience to their customers.

Yeah I played WoW and sorry they aren't fixed so fast I also asked one of my friends and he plays both. Seems they range about the same. Second I'm in Balmung, the most I've had to wait so far has been an hour tops. So experience can vary by server and if your logging in at peak times. Most of my friends and I play FFXI while we wait and sometimes don't even realize we are in. Time flies when your having fun. Things will go back to normal once people complete SB , or maxed out what they need to. Everyone pays, everyone is suffering how we deal with it is up to us.

Whether you agree or not that is your opinion, in my opinion we should be compensated with anything even if it is small just to show that they care for their customers.

Here is the deal. They are not going to give you or who ever you are representing compensation. If they didn't give you any compensation then when everyone was doing the Cango line for 4 days straight during early access they are not going to do it now. It's a take it or leave it kind of thing and I doubt there is anything close to a significant number you including that are going to leave this game for 1 day compensation.

The thing is, the game is available and you don't have to stop playing, you can do other things while waiting for DF, or waiting for the line of players attempting instanced battles to diminish. Friend of mine in my FC spent his time leveling, and side questing and never had a problem.

Read the ToS. You accepted the possibility of your play being disrupted when you signed up.

The ToS aren't absolute. This line where it says that we should expect some downtime during certain periods much be kept to a reasonable time frame. Besides, it's mostly refering as maintenance periods, not unavailability due to server capacity or poor engineering regarding bottlenecks.
Of course, nobody will go to court to clear that up, but it's expected to be good business practices to offer compensation to affected customers.

Whatever the case, it's up to SE to figure out if the disagreement is big enough to give a compensation or not. It lies within the realm of managing company image and reputation. If they think that the hit to their credibility won't be a big deal, then we won't get anything. On the other hand, if they want to reinforce their customer's trust, then we'll receive something.
But it's not as simple as saying "you agreed to the ToS, so you get nothing". That's not how it works.

They have given compensation in yhe past, when the game was literally unplayable. It currently is not.

Pretty much. I'll just go do something that doesn't need the duty finder.

Go level gathering and crafting classes. Don't sit here and tell me it's unplayable when you refuse to do something else in the game.

Not really. We've had periods of constant maintenance, not a single day has been refunded. It's up to them, and if you are playing right now you agreed to the ToS which says just that. They don't have to refund you in any way.

Why do people complain about the silliest of things. When we weren't able to use the DF last night, we were doing MSQs and other FC members we're leveling gatherer's and what not. There are lots of things to do in this game besides DF.

Emergency maintenance/scheduled maintenance, and isp issues are understandable, but when the service is interrupted by malicious attack and bad game design that's a little bit different. Remove the DDoS and you still have a bottleneck issue that broke the apparent "new and better" servers, that issue is something SE can own judgement for.

A ToS isn't a bible or official law, within that ToS it also states they don't give you refunds, I can attest to that being false, and it also states about using 3rd party software which half the population uses, and hardly ever receive any type of discipline.

This has nothing to do with refunds. Nobody is asking for a refund of their game or subscription time.
A compensation isn't the same thing as a refund.

And here is a reason why people shouldn't quote things when they don't understand.

1. No 3rd party criminal activity happened with my account.

2. SE double charged my account and had zero shipping or invoice number to provide my bank or myself about said second purchase.

3. SE refused to refund me until a written statement by my bank proved what they already knew to be true.

4. Which my bank obliged and sent off whatever official form and transaction log they have access to, which resulted in me waiting 3 days for a response that came back and told me I was refunded due to a technical issue within SEs billing system.

So, your white knight attempt failed, SE refunded me for something that wasn't criminal. Funny how you didn't even try to bring up parsers being a direct violation of the ToS and only tried to self validate yourself and SE with their awful policies.

Sure, there are definitely cases where they do, but in the end, as the ToS mentions, it will be determined by Square Enix.

Even if that isn't true, and it sounds suspicious enough imo (DDoS'd for 4 days without realising it?), we don't "deserve" compensation for any downtime regardless whose fault it is. You sign off on that.

Then you haven't attempted to log in during any normal hours of gameplay. A single D/C can give you a 3-4 hour long queue time.

It's not as simple to detect a DDoS attack, specially during a launch were heavy traffic was expected. Here's an interesting read about it.

But anyways, keep demanding compesation. In my case, I'm fine. After early access I've been able to play just fine. Save for yesterday where DF was down, but I had a lot more to do. Sorry if you're having any more issues.

Just level up a character on a new server to level 30 and get the 15 days free sub "compensation"
