Am I the only one who doesn't like AST's Lord of Crowns and other change?

I play AST as my primary healer since it came out, it is very fun and good support.
But the new skill Lord of Crowns look like it's useless because the potency is very low at single target.
I think it would be better to change to AOE regeneration or single damage with higher potency(500+ would be good :p), so it can take effect to the boss with 2% hp left, when there are only tank and healer left in the extreme trial, either random stack-able buff is fine.

The Lady of Crowns is acceptable for me.

Another thing is Earthly star, I wold love it if it can deliver healing wave for both 2times (after Earthly/Giant Dominance end), but effect fade out after execute Stellar Detonation.

Hope some developer teams would read this post.

Lord of Crowns is a potency of 300, which is double the strength of Energy Drain (150) and the equivalent of SMN's Fester if used while two DoTs are on the target (300, max strength of effect). It's pretty decent, really.

Earthly Star, by default, is already a more powerful version of Indomitability even if you pop it immediately (540 pot ES vs 400 pot indom and 300 heal pot on Assize). Given it shares the same cooldown as Assize (which is double that of indom), making it a double pulse would be incredibly overpowered, and its potency would need to be drastically halved to compensate. I'm not sure people would like that.

300 is 50 higher than Stone IV so... don't really know why you are complaining.

Earthly Star is a very strong AoE heal. Again don't know why you are complaining.

Seems rather strange to complain that something is weak about an AST, since it is easily the best healer right. They should buff AST to curb even further ahead?

For the topic question yeah most probably just a "yes..."

Just because AST might be the flavor of the month for healers right now doesn't mean it doesn't have problems, though ours are generally design, and I think that's what she is saying. The DESIGN of the abilities may feel off.

I think Lord/Lady are fine, I'd favor a slight potency reduction on Earthly Star, but I can't really weigh in much beyond that because I can't effing log in to level up and GET the new abilities to play with.

Well yeah maybe it's not 100% perfect (nothing is "perfect" if you search long enough there will always be things which can be improved) but Asts are by far the last cls which should complain atm .___.

Honestly this doesnt sound like "design" more like a wishful thinking of even more overbuffing... : /

So, now I can see it's really overpower.

I really like Earthly Star. I do think the heal might be a bit too strong, though. As is, I can essentially full-heal the party after big hits solo. I was using it a lot in Sasano earlier. Pre-cast Earthly, then wait for enemy AoE, precast Helios into Giant Dominance detonation. As for Lord/Lady, I haven't quite made it there yet, but I can't say I'm that excited for those cards. Lord, especially, since it's just extra damage and I don't care much for that, especially since it sounds like we can't choose which of the two cards we get. So basically if you're DPSing and you pull Lady, it's useless. If you need a heal and you pull Lord, it's useless. Not a fan of that system.

It's not really useless, since AFAIK once you convert an arcana into Lord or Lady it sticks there for whenever you want to use it, meaning it doesn't have a timer that makes it expire. At least there's nothing that suggests so in the tooltip, so if you pull a Lady you just pulled a free Lustrate which you can store, which is an effect that is much better than having to waste a Draw cooldown in nothing.

Minor Arcana are basically a way to efficiently get rid of cards you don't want to use, transforming them into free DPS or healing, neither of which consume a GCD or MP, making this addition the final perfecting point and cherry on top for the Arcana system.

Earthly Star, similarly, fills in the only hole in AST's tool kit, which was burst AoE healing. AST is literally perfect now in terms of weaknesses: the job has none.

Ast has nothing to complain about.

And I love Astrologian, but just, shhh.
300 potency for a dps card is more than malefic III so it's definitly enough.

Earthly Star is an incridibly good heal for a 1 min CD so no.

Though i suppose minor arcana was probably just intended as a glorified card dump, anyhow.

Fishing for a balance or arrow, but keep getting spires/ewers/spears/boles? Minor arcana so it can be a little less useless! I wish they'd adjust the RNG of it so you'd get the lord more in the open world and the lady more in duties. The damage from the lord is negligible in a duty, and the healing from the lady is not needed out in the world.

Lord of crowns is an attack card... its stronger than malefic III... lol its out strongest single hit attack.

It's the highest single target DPS spell any healer has in the game, period.
It's completely free, OGCD and is obtained by using cards you don't want to use anyway.

How in the world is this a bad thing?

Honestly, and I know this is a tad bit unfair, but I roll my eyes every an AST complains about something feeling too weak, when they're the strongest healer in the game by far...

300 potency oGCD attack is NOT weak. It doesn't matter how you try to spin it. It is never useless.

A 500 potency oGCD heal on top of what you already have is a bit unnecessary but its not useless. If you get it out in the world just use it to open up your minor arcana.

AST is far and away the best healer right now, and with Minor arcana and Earthly Star they have little to no weakness. Everything they have is useful, and even a Spear card has a use now.

AST already had all the special god abilities. These are just filling small holes in their toolkits that pretty much cover all of AST's bases.

Missing what though? More utility? Less RNG? All you clearly want is to make them better, which would in turn make AST better. AST doesn't need buffs, and having an ability that feels like it's "missing something" is hardly worth complaining about.

I don't think anyone claims it to be the best thing ever, but it's completely free, obtained from a card you would have tossed anyway, and even with RNG, it's a free instant heal, or a free nuke. There's is literally no downsides to this, much like the rest of ASTs kit. Absolutely no downsides, I'd actually argue that AST is flawless as a healer.

You claimed Lord is negligible in duties which is akin to saying it's weak. If it's negligible then Malefic III and Stone IV are negligible. They aren't but you don't seem to look at the kit as a whole, instead just looking at these minor Arcana as something that should be more, even if they are already good as they are. They don't need to do more, because AST already does everything a healer needs and then some. No one is claiming they are GOD like.

My only issue with these these abilities is that the ability really doesn't play nice with level sync.

I'm pretty much using it in place of my old 3.x card click macro/undraw now. I absolutely don't hold onto either lord or lady and both will get burned pretty quickly, well within the 30 seconds it takes for me to pull another card. But when I get synced down to 65 or lower, it flat out doesn't work so I have to keep a second hotkey handy for undraw.

The only solution that comes to mind is to use that protect macro for malefic/malefic II that used to do the rounds here. Clunky though, it goes against the streamlining ethic Stormblood bought and the fact that it didn't get bought up by the testing team further shows that SE really don't have a handle on healer gameplay =/

Its a free card to burn if you pull a wrong card and has no idea what to do with it, they give you a free extra "to do list" not replacing your core skill or such. If you dont like it you can always ignore the skill

I have since acquired the skill and have discovered that it's like holding cards. So I retract my comment about it being useless. Though I hardly ever actually get rid of cards, since I can just Redraw if I get a card that I can't use at that time.

Actually, the only thing AST misses now is an AoE attack at lv 50...

SE could switch Gravity and Combust II, But we would have a trait lv issue...
