An 8 for more action and still no chat
Too early to say. Games are trash right now, so if I am rating on game play it's 1/10 because of how many people are just throwing and how bad so many players are.
4.
Some things I thought were neat but at the same time there's way too many things I don't like.
Edit: Like an above poster said, it is a bit too early to tell though as people are grinding for their job exp and (I personally) haven't had the opportunity to try out most of the jobs to see how they play out with this new system. But from what I've heard, it's pretty mixed.
Melees are still a cannon fodder in 72s and even easier to kill now that ranged don't have range penalty. DRK with ranged holmgang on 10 second cooldown is completelly broken. The best change for dps is probably you don't have to wait 2 minutes for every burst, you can burst anytime till you run out of TP.
Need to try all job changes before any final conclusion.
10/10 Dark knight OP. 7/10 for everyone else. They're all just fodder in comparison
I think it has potential but as everyone said, it's pretty mixed. Some classes are pretty fun and more fun to play than even their pve counterparts but some are totally screwed. Perhaps not in terms of how strong they are (that's true as well but I'll cover that later) but some are just really boring to play. Square had the potential to make some really interesting moves like DRK's deathgrip but some moves function the same as pve basically just more simplified to save space. I
I've only played shatter as I pvped so far just for exp but range are REALLY strong. No penalties to range and casting can't be interrupted with attacks anymore means they just nuke you and melee are back to being fodder. BLM mage in particular, as I played that the most, seems really strong. Foul's potency is way too high as anyone who is about 50% hp is basically dead.
I'd probably give the system a 7/10 so far. This revamp was very needed but they need to take a look at classes again.
I wouldn't mind a few more abilities. Maybe 7/10. I'm having a good time in the chaos and I feel like all three healers flow better, but who knows how that will change in a month.
Before SB, I liked using Blunt Arrow or Blast Shot on BLMs and watching them angrily target me.
Post-SB, I like spamming Broil on BLMs and watching them angrily target me.
Bout 7/10 as well. Agreeing with previous reasons of dust needs to settle a bit more and some tweaks need to be made maybe a few skills added. Seems like theres too little CC left to take advantage of the counters we were given for it.
I played BRD and it was very fun in FL but it was total chaos due to it being Shatter.. Anyways, gameplay is fast and BRD is fluid. I've only experienced 5 matches total so still have to do more testing.
I think everyone dies a little too quick for my taste but the gameplay is fun. And it would be really great if we could have at least one more Additional Action. I also dislike the forced exp. Would like a toggle for that.
I rate 7/10
I'd say 5/10... I honestly didn't like most of the changes as I was used to like PvP how it was before, and even though I understand it was too hard to kill healers before, but I think the skill kit for SCH for example is just too limited. I was feeling useless most of the time. Also not having a fairy around feels really weird. I found myself spamming Lustrate all the time because I only have single target heals. RDM is broken af, like whenever a RDM targets someone the person deis in two seconds, it's just ridiculous, and I guess people have discovered that because parties are teeming with RDMs. Overall I just feel like PvP is very unbalanced at the moment and a little bit to limited. Isn't as fun as before to me. Also, I didn't really understand why we still have ranks if we don't get to spend points anymore on skills o.o Is it only for the ranked matches?
5/10 for now. Not terrible, but not great. Not having a gap closer on NIN anymore really, really hurts. No that weird teleport useless skill that we have is still useless except for fleeing terribly and doesn't count as a gap closer. I feel like I spend most of my time throwing my knives instead of stabbing potato's with them. Muscle memory is my biggest enemy.. I keep going to hit skills that aren't there anymore ><; Mudra's especially.
3
they completely nerf all class, especially ninja
no more hide on whim
no more assasination at base
no more run faster
no more free jump from cliff
no more guerilla tactic
These changes seem well made for Feast, and I'm generally having a good time with it in that mode. But I'm not sure how well these changes fit in with the Frontlines mode.
Thus far, I'm enjoying the changes (Bear in mind I've ONLY played as the three healers in 4v4 feast, no other mode.) Matches are quicker, and FINALLY it's not all down to the healer. Healer's lack of utility has made the game more dependent on the dps, which relieves a lot of stress.
I'd say 8/10, but again, I haven't tried frontlines -- and I can imagine the lack of AOE heals to be quite detrimental.
Melee dps 72 shatter, as of now, feels like 3/10
Can't do crap but hit ice, and an occasional stray. Unless you got a deathwish, or the other teams sucks.
With the combo of fetter ward and purify, melee could jump in the throng of enemies before, but now you have to sacrifice self-heal and/or sprint in order to do so.
But I'm used to getting cc from hell and that's apparently not a thing anymore, so I guess some mental adjustment is in order. You probably want different skills depending on 24/72 and if you have healer in pty.
6/10. Nin's entire utilities kit (stealth, bind, heavy) is locked behind Three-mudra and ninki, making engaging ranged dps harder now. And the fact that w/o (enough ninki), you can't do jack except assassinate, silence and "auto". The on demand stealth is nice, but can we have that w/o the 5 second of not-getting-hit? Keep the 5 second delay, but drop the not-getting-hit.
My initial impressions are melee feels bad. 2/10 Ranged is fun 7/10 (probably because melee is so bad) and healers are meh 5/10. 4.0 pvp is not living up to my high hopes. I love that button bloat is gone but not sure how I feel about the buttons they did give us.
Have done few matches and pvp not feel bad at all. It take little time to get used not having that much buttons but it is kinda fun after all. Maybe 8/10? Players can not kill you anymore in 2 sec and healers not have million aoe heals and hots anymore.
I was maining healer in PvP and these changes are just depressing. Was they hard to kill? ofcourse they was since without them your party is prety much dead without them unless you are coordinated enough. They were alos not as broken as some have said since even parties with 3 healers in feast could get murdered. But now you just feel like a liability since you can't prepare for incoming burst damadge, single target or aoe.
It's no longer PvP, to me ~ I feel its complete trash. They need to change the name to PvE Exp Farm. I'm only speaking to Frontlines, I don't do the Feast arenas.
I miss all of the skills that made it difficult to kill a player, and vice versa.
But, it's definitely more friendly for people that don't like PvP, people who have issues with their hand(s), or those who are low on talent.
PvP was the main reason I played this game. Guess I'll have to stop skipping MSQ CSs now. Of course, I'll still PvP, I do love large (72) scale PvP arenas.
If you do enjoy the new PvP, and not just the PvE Exp, I'm glad for you! Maybe they could replicate Frontlines with all skills in a separate instance and see how that plays out. Although, I guess a lot of those skills got removed? so never mind!
-∞/10
1/10. only good change was making pvp accessible at lvl 30. its a pve playground now and people are asking to throw games and afking for these bloated exp gains.
Prefer it. More time spent on positioning, getting out CS/mana burning and less time rotating multiple cds.
Can't make any real game-changing plays now though.
Probably a very low 3/10, but it does depend on the job you're playing.
I've played 5k+ Feast matches and 1.5k Frontlines and have to say this new system is much inferior to the old system. It's dumbed down, repetitive and outright boring.
3/10 It feels really weird as a Healer. Its even worse when most of the players just run in 1v5ing and dying. I also hate how we have 11 abilities its way to little.. You also get to take 2 abilities most being meh..
3/10
less buttons is cool and all but you guys made it dumb
should've left the cc skills/spells alone, also give back purify and sprint
Love it. The most fun Summoner has ever been in pvp. Playing the class was a drag in the old system because you constantly had to manage everything. This is fine in PVE as we already know the fight and can manage accordingly. Pvp however is unpredictable. Since practically all of Summoners bursty skills are locked behind stacks we basically had one shot to maybe kill one person, and if they had a healer we just used all our burst and were extremely vunerable to getting ganked with little resistance. No dps should be entirely helpless. The new system makes it so that we always have a chance to defend ourselves.
Been playing primarily as a DRk so my opinion so far is a broken 10/10
That being said I've really enjoyed the mobility of RDM and SAM in frontlines. Overall it feels like a lot of fun. Probably will shine in the next frontline match. No idea for feast since I only play 8v8
5/10
I lowered it after I read they nuked ninja. Only reason I wanted to level ninja was to invis... was always jealous of that.
Brd is fun.
Sam was eh, not a fan of running around getting nuked from a distance
Whm is my main... and although it's simple, I often feel like I'm not doing enough. My benson and protect feel underwhelming, and my assize feels like a joke.
I basically try and mass heal up one dude and then the enemy gets smart and hits 2-3 people at once... and there's not much I can do.
I can't rate it yet tbh but definitely not balanced. War doesn't have anything good no cc, no support and no cds even warrior burst is terrible 4 fell cleaves + upheavel is weak and slow. Since casts can't be interrupt by damage it's even worse. I get all this "less skills" etc but tanks should be tanky everything a war can do right now is turning on tank stance which needs a heal to trigger and maybe 1 low selfheal (when u decide to pick it up). Meanwhile classes like DRK are now strong as hell. If you don't have bolt you are at such a disadvantage that the only option u have is 1 skill (from a tank point of view). So yea alot of unbalance atm feels like they saw DRK being bad and made it op while giving warriors nothing fell cleave spam seems good on paper but it isn't.
I don't know about others but I'm loving NIN in (Shatter). It's completely different from pre-4.0 NIN in PvP, but on (Shatter) it's so fun charging up your Ninki on Ice and then stealthing and bursting down a squishing range DPS. NIN at first was a 6/10 for me but as I've gotten used to it, it's a 10/10 for me in (Shatter).
This is actually my main gripe with this new pvp system, there is just no tools left to do these awesome game changer moves and going guerilla troll is out of question nowdays even if you play as a tank... but then again i kinda knew my playstyle would die when 4.0 hits but i still wished i would be wrong, sadly i wasnt.
Some serious balancing needs to be taking in consideration before the next season begin and seriously hope SE is monitoring feast games and looking at suggestions and feedback so we do not have weird OP jobs that are just played over and over during rank season.
For WHM I just spam Cure, Cure II on everyone in Alliance that needs it and then use stoneskin like crazy as I get lillies on party members. I save Assize as MP refresh when I have 3 lillies, and use other GCD as they come up on allies that take damage like tanks, melee. I've been in fights that have lasted minutes and no one on our alliance has died when I'm maybe 1 of 3-4 healers.
