"Native Resolution 4K will be given priority than Direct X 12 support."
Buried in HERE somewhere.

Are there any comments by developers of FFXIV stating the differences between Dx11 and Dx12 applied to the game?
Going from DX 9 to DX11 was a must.
Revamping again to go to DX12 isn't really needed most current Video cards can push 60+ FPS at 1440p, max settings next gen video cards will be even better.
I will take a HD Graphics patch before DX12
The game is already going to be taking a fairly sizeable hit to the playerbase between:
- Dropping console
- Cutting DX9
- Increasing base system reqs
The last thing we need is to cut out anyone who doesn't have a current generation graphics card and Win10 64-bit or equivalent.
i'd rather they optimise the DX11 client even more before giving us DX12 because there are still people with crashing issues on dx11 if you head over to the tech support forum and i personally know a few people who occasionally crash and usually they play on DX11 + borderless windowed when it happens
i hope stormblood gives better optimisation for windows 10 64bit and dx11 (given that they're upping the sysreqs and stuff)
yeah possibly it could be just their end but let's just give them the benefit of the doubt. because those people say they didn't do anything prior and this 3.xx patch caused the crashing suddenly or this new driver made things unstable and they had to rollback. it could also be both their computer and SE's new code to the client. you rarely see the PS4 people complaining (most of their complaints are network related like patching issues) about crashes because all ps4's are mostly built the same way so it's easier to make things stable for that machine while two pcs will never function the same way even if it had similar parts
I STILL can't minimize the dx11 client when I'm on fullscreen.
Don't know if this affects everyone or just me but it's super annoying, I wish they fixed that before worrying about higher end machines.
I highly doubt DX9 will be dropped for FF14 anyways.
SE can still maintain DX9, DX11, and DX12 without giving up anything and the only difference between them would be just mostly better and brighter particle effects due to the graphic style of FF14.
heck look art warframe with its abiltiy to support DX9, DX11, and DX12. A good amount still player using DX9 because it runs more smoother, graphics is slightly similar to DX11 and DX12, and it has less blinding effects flying on the screen to make playing the game less painful on the eyes.
Getting Vulkun or DX12 would be a boon to both newer and older gpu setups in the PC space. Low level API would certainly help AMD GCN and Vega architecture as well as give some noisy to Nvidia but of course Nvidia wants to sell bee cards and Square is on the take so I doubt we see DX12/Vulkun before the winged monkeys come flying out of Trump's pants.
Though it would be nice to pair my 960 for Phyicx with my Fury Nitro but hey maybe Blizzard will do it....They normally adopt be a technology.
How was it a must exactly? Going back and forth between DX9 and DX11, I see very little graphical improvement for a massive fps loss.
The terrain tessellation, especially, is so wonky it looks better when off... Are we at least going to be seeing improvements to that, as far as we know?
DX12 would help CPU-demanding situations such as Kugane with maximum of NPCs shown! So if we have more than 4 cores we could use them to stop that bottleneck.
I don't think so, maybe in another expansion.
i dont hope so. bcs sli is not working in dx12.
