The problem is, rather, that anyone outside GR, FR or UK is lumped into the "American" category and thrown to the US Lodestone page.
Please fix this already SE.
Yeah, they should fix that I don't see the price in CHF. WE ARE SOMETHING!
...dang, Steam does the same thing anyway.
It seems I was lumped into the american catergory... damn work proxy, even that link doesnt work!!
Thanks for the img though, my cockles are warmed.
Euro in so much debt.!
I have noticed that a browser language of English maps to the US (dollars and Pacific times). I have to set mine to English-UK/GB to get pounds sterling and GMT times.
I like how I'm Canadian and I get the European prices. But I use the currency converter which takes approximately 8 seconds so oh well.
the price should stay at $ and nothing more imo, most use currency
Makes no sense to keep the price in dollars for Japan / EU since they officially support these places. In fact, it would be as weird as if they billed americans in Yens.
Now, for everywhere else, I do agree it should be dollars only, and as far as I know that's how it goes. At least for me it's in dollars.
Hello everyone,
I am really sorry to hear that some of you have issues when trying to access the English (UK) version of the Lodestone. I have forwarded this issue to make sure that all countries listed under the "Europe" region on the Square Enix Account management website display the UK version of the Lodestone, so announcements related to billing will be displayed in EUR or GBP, timezone will also be set to GMT by default.
Thank you again for reporting this issue to us!
Well basically it can happen that you have to change your Router-Setting to make the updater work. It takes just a couple seconds to change the language and has really nothing to do with Customerservice imo. But as you see, they heard you and it will get fixed.
Using a Swedish browser, both Firefox and IE, has done nothing for me the past year. My times on Lodestone continue to be in PST, even though I changed my time zone to GMT, and of course, the billing page is in dollars and not in euro.
i hereby declare everyone in here honorary Americans:)
It's not the SE that is at fault here, but your browser settings. Go to your browser options and set your preferred display language to English (UK) instead of English (US). Reload lodestone and you get the UK/EU version.
For Chrome that would be options -> under the hood -> language and spell-checking options
Maybe... just maybe... because SE was smart enough to code their page to get you the info that applies in your region? And the only way they can see which region you are from is .... your preferred website language?
My preferred display language is my first language, which isn't English, nor any other language found outside Europe. Yet using that as the default language results in the Lodestone loading the US version.
It's SE's fault and I should not need to do anything to create a workaround.
Again, my preferred website language has nothing to do with the United States, nor the North American region.Quote:

What is your point tho? Stepping into a conversation, putting in a useless comment to defend someone? Are you in love with him? Even if i dont agree with Betelgeuzah in this point, he is usually a person which can speak for himself. Read what i said, learn to understand my opinion, read between the lines and maybe you will get it.
Even if your preferred language is not english, browsers start out with your primary language on top of the list followed by English(US), which leads you to the US page instead of the UK one. If you don't want to change your browser settings then you have no reason to complain about it to SE. The webpage is working as intended.
So, perhaps, SE could make it so my primary language leads me to the page closest to it, which in this case would be the UK Lodestone? Is this too much asked? No.
Expecting me to change any settings when I have done nothing to deserve it is entirely unreasonable. My browser is in European language, and as such I should be taken to the European website.
If they expect me to pay for the service they need to deliver with said service. Not make the customer do all the work for them while their systems don't function properly.
It's merely just another of the reasons to take my money elsewhere. SE isn't going to laugh, that's for damn sure.Quote:
Who is going to laugh and tell you to set up your browser properly -> what I and others told you already.
correct, having the honorary status that i have bestowed upon you all does not grant you legal immigration. It is a superficial title that you can tell all your friends about.
