Squall Outfit Rank 14 vet reward (1440 days)

So today got the Squall outfit, I like the top don't really see myself using the other pieces though.

Although if you dye it with Metallic dye it kind of looks like a pimp suit, which I lol'ed at.

Oddly enough, I always thought that Squall's outfit looked rather bad on him, but it looks rather nice on a female Mi'quote. Seems to be a lot more flattering than on the male frame, in my opinion.

yeah seen a few with it does look better on a girl then does on a guy more so when said guy was a roe

What happened to the shoes?

Looks pretty nice. Too bad I'm a looooooooong way from getting it. Ugh why did I quit back in ARR. switching to wow for a bit was dumb.

I think it has a lot to do with that frill around the neck and shoulders. Since males tend to have higher, larger shoulders that frill is just making them seem even bigger and looks ridiculous:

On a female frame, with smaller and slightly lower shoulders, the effect is not quite as dramatic and serves more as a flourish.

That part of the body piece.

I'm pretty sure these costumes are based in some part on the Dissidia versions, unless someone has a FFVIII screen to compare with.

That's also the FFVIII one , Dissidia includes original ones and alternate.

Not really. The original one doesnt have those details on the shirt, nor that big V-neck. No extra clothing on the right side and no wings/feathers on the hips. And two crossed belts. The VR outfit is one of the Dissidia ones.

I don't really like the Dissidia version (this one)
I much prefer the original which had a longer Griever necklace, shorter V-neck on the shirt and no hip feathers/fluff. Heck I even prefer the Kingdom Hearts version, but this one is not terrible, and I wasn't going to use it really so, who cares I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Now Rinoa's coat would be really nice or Selphie's dress or some SeeD uniforms *o*

Haven't seen anyone wearing it least not on balmung, plus everyone else has given their opinion about what they think about the outfit you are the only negative post here. But w/e is is the forums i think you are expecting too much.

I have had the outfit on an alt for a bit now, but in pure white, also looks very nice in that color.

Its not toooooo bad of an outfit, would have preferred a full crop jacket with no frilly stuff at the waist and not always with a stiff tail of material ...but its not too bad :)

I personally want the outfit, but I only recently reach 1020 days on the veteran count... Still missing 420 days.

It's one of the few outfits I would've been ready to pay money for if they had put it in the mog station's store...

I do however wish it was the design from FF8 rather than Dissidia, but the differences aren't all that big.

Wish I could get that outfit. Alas, some 800+ days to go I think.

The outfit looks good on both frames, but personally, I'll be using it on a Roegadyn where that v-neck is going to come in very handy! Have about 300 days to go to get it yet.

I really don't like that bit of cloth on the right hip.

Another "Veteran" reward outfit I will never put on my chars <-<

I'm a Rank 13 veteran, so I should be getting it in the next pay cycle, which is around July. My one gripe would be those feathers hanging off the hip. What's that all about?

It looks good, I think. I'm not sure I'd use the whole thing but many sets have specific pieces that end up working very well when combined with other pieces of gear.

The top piece really most likely the only piece I will use and was having hard time finding other pieces that I thought went well with it until I tried it with my whm glamour which I think turned out well.

Not trying to be a jerk, you asked so I assumed you actually wanted to know.

Personally I quite like the set, and will probably use at least the top; I always felt it was kinda weird that they gave Squall a half-skirt in Dissidia like he was a proper ranged gunner rather than a warrior with occasional bullets, but it's a style I like and don't see a lot of as a healer, so I'll take what I can get.

I just wish the shirt and fur would stay white when dyed rather than turning grayish like in the screen OP posted...that's going to seriously limit it's utility for me, since that weird semi-matching the main dye color gray is impossible to match unless you just dye everything the same color (which usually looks bad, especially with bright colors.)

I have it and like it alot, my only complaint is that the belt buckle for the pants is actually part of the body piece.
