I saw this chimerical monstrosity on a different forum. I haven't done Diadem yet but given the fact that someone out there has this weapon means that the content isn't that hard.

Meh. Won't matter once Stormblood comes out in 3 months.
Neither will any Stormblood items matter when the next expansion comes out. Nor will anything of that expansion matter when the next one will come out. Nor will any of the items from that expansion matter when the next one comes out. And one day, earth will cease to exist so everything is for Alphinaught.
Hey you never know, they could make Stormblood ilvl cap i290 on release xD
Not that hard but you have be ultra lucky to get a weapon.
Only one person in the entire 72 man gets one if you manage to clear a special fight that has a chance of occurring once per session. The weapon you get is random too.
So the person who got that essentially won the cactpot.
Jesus 280?...Curious how they compare to Anima, if anyone gets Machinist and Monk please post it.

Let me just say, my Culinarian is enjoying this new patch, Table Salt in droves! :D
What is it with that Cane? People keep linking the cane, only the cane, I came to the forums and I see the cane. It's like this is the only one i280 weapon that has ever dropped in the whole game, and you'd have to be lucky enough to be a whm yourself to use it.
Don't care about the weps, is new Diadem actually FUN??? Any reports on that?
What I mean is ever since I log in I've read people relentlessly complaining about how their efforts went to waste and how the filthy casuals will steal their jobs now, like they were handing out free i280 weapons for your job as soon as you logged in. Yet everyone keeps linking the same weapon, like that was the only one that dropped in the whole server.
It's almost like they were really rare or something. Incredible, right?
But we must love FATEs, we've been doing them since ARR. We wouldn't be getting more FATEs if they weren't successful.

If your not DoH/DoL hope you enjoy FATES...you'll be doing a lot of em...
Done it once so far, and I really enjoyed it. Its impressive what some structure has done for it. My instance messed up the special fight but was still fun just to watch the chaos :P I mean ff 11 fanbois are prolly gonna crucify me but it has like a faster paced sea/sky feel to it to me.
I quite like the aspect of looking for treasures. They feel more rewarding than fates, especially if your party has had a few dropouts and harder mobs take long to kill.

The fate part is not amazing nor annoying, it's just farming mobs of various difficulties. PvE in a nutshell. The timer seems a bit short but that could be because we were missing people. I liked how there are caves to explore with chests and monsters. Only the entrance shows on the map and the rest you have to look through yourself.
The mega event (where weapons drop) is interesting but I'm not sure I like the idea that it's so easy to make it unwinnable. People let an add through and it wiped the whole raid, and then the mobs proceeded to dogpile and cleave anyone who entered the room until the timer ran out.
The part I liked the most was doing the main 3-part quest objective. It's probably the fastest way to farm 265 gear because it only takes like 10-15 minutes for 10 lockboxes. The rewards are personal. This is what I got:

SB is out in 3 months. Enjoy what you've got left from HW.
In my opinion? No. Granted, I have only run it once and want more personal experience before saying anything too definitive. But the general gist from watching on Twitch is...
- You have three objectives revolving around killing certain mobs, using key items on them or targeting fates
- Afterwards, you aimlessly farm fates in the hopes of unlocking Emergency Missions
- EM spawn a super boss that is supposedly scaled at EX Primal levels
Beyond the above, you get gear, materia and whatnot.
I love FATES, if there are people to help do them or they happen to be clearable solo.
I wish their rewards were a bit better, though.
I don't know why people are all bent out of shape, I have two animas and I think this is a fun way to gear my alts. Granted fun is subjective. If I happened to land the 1.333 chance to get a better weapon than my anima, then great! if not, I still have my anima, so no big deal. Plus, my dol/doh will still benefit from the return of diadem. Gather trips anyone?
Important question. Does battling these Fates/monsters in the new Diadem give relic light?
If Hunts = headache then Diadem 2.0 = full blown aneurysm.
We had 6min left when a NM spawned, we got to it, got it to 5% when another team arrived & reset it. We were booted whilst they fought on. Can't see who resets as they lose enmity immediately so no names shown to report. FATEs have 2-3min timers & either die so quickly that even in a party who were the only ones there you might get silver. Other FATES have mobs that can one-shot tanks in their cooldowns & whilst taking out all melee at the same time. Oh, that's not telegraphed BTW, that's their auto-attack!
It should be fun but it is trollable to the maximum extent possible. Expect to get people who do NOTHING except wait for the NM that seems to spawn every 50 minutes. Watch them RAGE if the Emergency Mission doesn't pop (I've not seen it) so they can't get the i280.
TLDR Mix Hunts with Yokai & sprinkle on old Diadem.
