Dear SE, NOBODY asked for under wear changes, just race unlocking Hempen sets.

Since I don't see anyone making a topic about this to bring awareness to the devs, then I'll do so.

Devs, the title really speaks for itself. Nobody asked for under wear garment changes when you remove a piece of gear on Torso/Bottoms/Feet. We asked, for Hempen sets to be race unlocked for all races to wear.

For example,

1. A Miqote female to be able to wear Hyur Highlander female's Hempen set
2. A Hyur Midlander female able to wear an AuRa's Hempen set.
3. See the pattern?

That is all. There is *no way* you could possibly screw this one up.

Took them how long to figure out "queue with your chocobo out" didn't mean we wanted to do dungeons with the chocobo?

I mean, underwear changes would be cool too, but I have been wanting to use the miqo'te hempen camise on my hyur midlander for years. Q__Q

May not be their fault. Might be the translators don't understand the request and so it's not communicated properly.

Well there was at least one thread (maybe couple more) that was titled something like "i want to wear other peoples underwear" that was really about the hempen set, so I could see where the confusion came from.

I would actually love an underwear slot. It's more realistic, but making all underwear sets available for all races should be first.

You're right of course. It bugs me when people respond to legitimate feedback with the equivalent of "everything is perfect and cannot ever be improved and if you think otherwise, you're stupid/ungrateful/childish."

That bothers me, especially because there are times when that's actually happening and claiming it in other cases comes off as trolling.

1.0 actually had two undergarment slots. They were removed going in to 2.0 and really they didn't ever do much. There was a (very slight) upgraded set of undergarments people could wear in the mid 20s but they didn't look any different.

This. If you think we have gear bloat now, imagine one earring per ear, two undergarments, and I think one bracelet per arm as well. Imagine having to balance an armoury chest for that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they mention expanding the armory chest anyway? Not that I would want to grind for two earrings and two bracelets...

That being said, FFXIV's glamour game would surpass what you could do in Dragon's Dogma if we still had underclothes/underwear as an equipment slot.

Have to use diagrams for SE JP to understand(gg lost in translation/translation issue)

I would be happy with just the ability to dye what we have. I'm so sick of flashing my white knickers lol

I think the problem was Yoshi not understanding, either not understanding the question or not understanding the gear that was being discussed.

It sounds like he thinks the hempen gear is the naked underwear model. It did go in the underwear slot in 1.0 and I don't think the underwear slot was ever able to be empty, so maybe he thinks those gears became the naked model for each race. He talks about how it'd be a very difficult thing to do turning them into an item for ID1, and you'd be wearing underwear over your underwear, but they are already that.

yeah some stuff seems to get lost in translation, for example alot o the difficulty questions immediately seem to get chucked into "raids" when I feel like the intention is just to ask them to raise the lowest overall difficulty settings XD

Sometimes in order to remain non confrontational i feel they over reach XD For example the lvl 15 quest against the Ascian where you get poisoned by the demon on alpha was great, as it introduced the necessity to use items into the mix, but come release they just went with making the encounter relatively faceroll. Also the removal of "side paths" on tam tara. (though this one I could see them wanting to change due to their 20 mins and your done philosophy, which i do not mind but those 20 mins should at the very least require a grp to have a pulse for said 20 minutes :P)

The hempen gear is(was) underwear, I didn't start any confusion by calling it that. :p

Hopefully they check this thread and are able to forward it to the debs properly^^

IMO they are playing dumb because in order to happen all models must be addapted to their respective races and they really don't want to do it because for them new stuff take precesdence over old stuff, also looks like eastern countries don't mind that much exclusive stuff for each race to the point that how hamped sets work is the norm.

Can I ask the point for this? I mean, unless naked no one is going to notice your underwear with any of the current aviable gear and I doubt they will add multiple models of the same slot that happen to show underwear just to accommodate any possible combo.

I think that question got lost in translation

I think they got the underwear you see when you take all of your gear off, which is tied into the charicter base models, with the hemp gear which is a body and leg slot items (and relic's of 1.0 when we had an underwear slot)

You seem to have forgotten that we pay monthly to play this game, and as a result, have every right to make requests and have complaints about it.

Why are people so fixated on underwear? What is it with people who want to run their character around in their underwear, which as far as I can see is the only time these pieces of clothing will ever be seen?

Frankly it's a huge non-issue as far as I can see, I don't see why SE bothered to make any changes to it, this 'feature' adds nothing whatsoever to the game.

The idea was never about wearing underwear(underwear is just included). The request is for the Hempen Undershirt/Camise and Hempen Underpants/Pantallettes styles to be available to everyone regardless of race. So for example, you as a Lalafell male would be able to wear the Hyur male tank-top.

I wouldn't mind new underwear and lingerine, but yeah, unlock the hampen sets would be nice.

People gotta understand that you have to use clear words and phrases so they can translate easier. Bogging down your question with big, pointless words just adds confusion, talking in a circle will add confusion, and using unclear phrasing will add confusion

I'm not sure how the question was asked, but it should have been asked as "Could clothing items like the hempen undershirt and hempen shorts not have racially locked appearances?"

The Hempen equipment are glamour gear that are meant to resemble loungewear/lingerie/undergarments of various kinds. There's only one set for each gender, but depending on race they have wildly different looks. Some of those looks are not very underwear-like at all, and would provide some marvelous glamour opportunities - if only those looks could be applied to other races. For example, the Elezen female Hempen Camise look resembles a tube top with long, detached sleeves. That look would go great with a lot of outfits - but currently, only Elezen females can use it.

This thread is not talking about the smallclothes that appear on your character when your character is not equipped with any gear - however Yoshi P apparently thinks that IS what folks are talking about. If that is the case, it is a misinterpretation on his part that folks would like to see corrected.

But those are (1.0) underwears, and people want the devs to change them ^^

I don't know, but was in the question included what underwear was mean, or was just underwear mentioned?

Just ask the devs: "Is it possible to split up the race specific gear models of the 1.0 hempen underwears from the shared gear item to give each model it's own gear item like it was during 1.0 (example: Miquo'te Halftop and Elezeen Bodice)?"

Where was this where they stated that they thought it was about underwear changes?

Also in case someone reading this that does not know:

the hempen underwear WAS the underwear of 1.0, it was not gear back then

In the Q&A it was asked if they plan to remove racial restrictions for haircuts and hempen sets. The haircuts part of the question got a normal answer like "we don't want to give all the haircuts to everybody", but then when talking about the hempen gear Yoshi was talking about ID0 and ID1 and how ID0 was the character's "skin" and couldn't be changed and ID1 is normal gear, which sounds like he thought the question was about the underwear appearance of a naked character and didn't make any sense as a response about hempen gear.

I agree with you to a point. However those that claim this is a way to ask for more content are dressing up a fairly simple statement. Want to make sure SE understands your desire? Don't mince words and say What you want. "I want to wear the underwear of the other races regardless of my own race/gender!" I mean if you want it you should say it clearly right?

They may have misunderstood the details of the request but imo Yoshi seemed fairly curt in his replies, weather it was gear options, character creation expansion, pet control options, ect... By and far it seemed like the over blown sense of entitlement may be wearing on him and the dev team. However i could be completely wrong, it's not like there's a new dozen request threads everyday...

I think the question was mistranslated. I, too, have wanted to wear the pretty Auri camise on my Hyur. However I have a feeling it's not something they will unlock.

But still, they misunderstood the question. People weren't asking about underwear; they were asking about the hempen sets.
