Double healer balance.

WHM+SCH, works
WHM+ AST works
SCH+AST works
AST+AST works

So why is WHM+WHM or SCH+SCH so horribly balanced compared to the rest?

Also SCH is lacking tools when it comes to cross party healing, as using aetherflow stacks hurts to much, so I have to do so in always thinking, does saving this one person put my party in danger?

WHM+WHM, or SCH+SCH do not complement each other well like the other combinations because they lack too many tools the other combinations make up. PvP is not the same as PvP and outside high end raids I know it is non issue.

AST + AST isnt as good as WHM + SCH though. So really none of the healers are optimal in terms of doubling up.

its leagues better then whm + whm or SCH+SCH though. My friend really hates healing as a whm with another whm and trying to level other jobs to get around it ><

not here to derail, i agree, isnt this the same for tanks? {m seeing a common theme here between both roles.

I heal mainly, I would not know. I titled this healer balance because that is what I know. I find it hard to play to the point I really do not want to do it when paired with another sch, and my friend is even more drastic with double whm, going to DPS and refusing to play healer seeing it. We never seen tanks have such reactions by asking others to change job if they can, so on.

The only thing I know about tanks is PLD stun spam is op

I am main SCH and tbh I don't see a big problem healing with another SCH. And I don't understand why it should be such a big deal going with 2 WHM as well.
Double Regen and both can stay in CS for almost forever. ^^
Same goes for double Eos. Double HoTs, one Fairy healing pushed and there you go with 2 SCH in CS and double DoT power.

If your friend is that strict with WHMxWHM pairings, maybe it's just her own business and she is the main problem? :x Sorry, I don't want to be rude, but it seems to be a personal issue, not a community wide one. :/

But to say: I barely go with double heal in PVP anyways. As soon as they see me being SCH, other healers in my group switch to DPS anyways. o.o

I think cleric stance is disabled in pvp. Also I don't think 2 white mage regens stack in pvp.

single healer in pt, or a single healer for each pt, meaning 3 total for 24 people does not work and always in a loss

even with purify, if you are forced by 3-10 people chainstuning and binding you, you will die solo.

WHM is helpful when you need heavy aoe healing, I like to see a solo sch keep up with aoe binds and double caster lbs, though the magic defense ability does help, it is the follow up damage you need to out heal along with recovering everyone's hp 50-75%

WHM+WHM or SCH+SCH is too weak in pvp

PvP shouldn't be balanced around FL, 8v8, or duels. It would be like balancing league of legends around ARAM. This is a non-issue compared to all the other balancing issues.

3 healers, if they all used their alliance bars to cross-party heal, would be enough to keep everyone alive, especially if the non-healers are competent enough to hold their own weight and the extra dps from being down a healer is tangible.

But that's not usually how it is. There's probably gonna be healers who don't cross party heal (not my party not my problem). There's gonna be dps and tanks that pull less than 20k dmg the entire match. More to the point... the reason you have so few healers in the first place is most likely that nobody really cares about winning. I don't look at that as losing because of lack of heals, but rather due to a lack of anyone giving a crap.

The balance thing is the same in PvE too. Serious endgame raiding groups aren't going to take two healers of the same job, even ast-ast because as others mentioned its far from optimal. But frontlines isn't the equivalent of endgame raiding xD its more like alexander normal or whatever the 24m raid is called. /shrug, when I do go healer, I dont really give much consideration to what job the other healer is, because you dont really, for the most part need to double-team heal a single target. Just like how in alex normal you almost always have one or both healers in clerics

SCH in particular lacks CC, so even you should admit that is an issue. That is why having 2 of them hurts
WHM has little when it comes to instant bail out heals, that is why 2 of them hurts for large group pvp

SCH does not have enough tools to support that. If I am cross healing like that and use my aetherflow stacks, then someone rushes my party we are scewed, and it happened to me before. Dissipation only does so much to bail out.

That's always been the case with SCH more or less. Its gotten better than it used to be but yeah, SCH is an absolutely amazing healer... til it runs out of stacks. Its a legitimate balance issue that SCH just isn't as sustainable as AST or WHM (and certainly AST is just as much capable of going into overdrive as SCH). You do see a lot more benefit from a co-healer as sch, just because it allows you to take breaks (or at least slow down enough that you arent going into over-drive/burn-out mode). Anyways, Im not saying sch is bad, and not to play it (its my go-to healer, anyways xD), but yeah, you'll hear people put forward good arguments both sides for WHM vs AST as top dog healer, but sch is always going to come 3rd. And all this does transfer over to 4v4, which I agree should be given priority in terms of balance adjustments. Its really just something that SE needs to fix, imo
