where am I going to put all the pieces?
it's pretty insane to give us so many pieces on a limited time item and not letting us store it on an armoire

The questreward for the 24 man raid doesnt go in it either. -_-
For the Garo event, if I want to get all the armor and keep it: I would have to rent a new retainer? Is this the purpose?
This is dumb SE, please fix this.
Thing is, from everything we've seen, Garo is a Collab, not an event. If the Collab had a duration to it then putting them into armoire would be justified however this appears to be content that is here to stay so that's the reason why you can't store it.
I think there was either a mistake in translation, they changed their minds or people assumed it was an "event" witha secondary option to obtain the gear for those who didn't want to do PVP. But considering that these pieces are what appear to be the best pvp gear you can obtain as of now, it seems more likely that this content is just a lot of busy work to keep those who want achivements to stay busy til 4.0. Lastly, if you look at the Battle-Wolve's Den Achievement list, the achievement to obtain the mounts is listed under that and not hidden/under the seasonal list which further suggest that this is content that is staying in the game.
Previous event items have been immediately storable in the Armoire for a while now, since before the expansion I think.
given their recent track record (Fanfest and event items like the maid/butler sets) with items that should be never being added to the Armoire, I don't expect to see the Garo items being changed.
Which is utterly ridiculous since if you wanted to collect all the sets including accessories and both versions of the four gender-locked (WHY) sets, there are 99 items total.
That's because the Yokai Watch collaboration event was only around for a limited amount of time, and nearly all of the recently allowed armoire items have been things that aren't always obtainable.
There's no indication that the GARO gear is going away, therefore the gear can be obtained at any time.
Well, like it was said in other thread by Ibi: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post3997995
"The period in which you can do it will be longer than the Yokai Watch collaboration.."
It'd help if SE would come and clear the situation.
I knew this would be badly handled as soon as the details of the event were teased. I had no idea it would be this badly handled. All these items that will either consume 66% of a retainer's inventory or almost all of my character's. Really?
Well the achievements aren't in the Seasonal Event tab, and the MGP vendor for this isn't in the game. So most likely the PvP elements of the GARO event will be in the game for good while the Gold Saucer event will be limited time only. But yeah, a dev clarification would help a lot. Also that's not an offical translation so it could be mistaken.
It's stuff like this which makes me wonder if they listen at all, inventory space is a major issue (thankfully they're addressing) but where do they expect us to put all this.
They don't, according to YoshiP, he'd like us to just throw stuff away to make room. Seriously, this whole inventory space bit would be solved if they'd just take a page from wow and add a damn glamour catalog that records all the appearances of items we've attained thus far. Of all the things to copy from wow, THIS, would be the one to copy... instead of garrisons.... *shudder*
Of course they won't do this since they'd lose out on retainer fees ;P
I'm hoping they change this
Since its the new i235 pvp gear...think thats here to stay. As such, assuming its the accomplishments thats here for just a limited time (the 60 wins being able to be completed in 1 day alone from just spamming 8 vs 8) Not seeing the problem unless ya just WANT all the gear. Thought the event was/is going well.
You get a title from having all the gear though so it's obviously being encouraged. Admittedly if they would clarify how permanent this is it would make throwing it all away less depressing :)
It's not just a collab stuff but also a "real" stuff (in opposition to other event's ones which were here only for glam) so I doubt we'll be abble to stock them in the armoir :/
I haven't started on the sets yet, but my gf has already collected a couple and wants them all. I think she might break and buy herself a third retainer 'cause she hasn't had much luck cutting down on her glamors. It is definitely a bit strange that they can't be stored considering how many items there are. Yo-kai had a lot less with it just being weapons.
Yokai watch was an event with an end date, Garo is maybe ingame forever (not an collab event, but a collab content).
It is part of the 3.5 patch note, and not announced as an event.
Therefor a player have time to toss not needed parts away and farm them later again.
Is a fair point..but still was hoping it would be storable.
Was there even a need to separate the gears by gender? Can't it just change the model based on the gender equip? Pretty sure we already have something similar in the game.
It's a ploy to make us buy more retainers.
That's still not an excuse to give people so many items to get, give us an incentive to actually get everything, and not have a good place to store it, especially since they already know most people have critical inventory issues.
I mean, is there something about the armoire that makes it so hard for us to store items in there?
You don't really need that Animal Skin or Jellyfish Cnida in your inventory. Throw it away.
Now, do you have all sets of i205 PvP gear in your inventory too? How about i70, i100, i110 and i180?
No? And i235 is no different. There's no reason to keep them all because they are going nowhere.
it's been confirmed the event lasts 6 months
Considering it's the highest iLvl PvP gear in the game at the moment, they can't very well remove it from the game until they at least release the next tier (presumably in the expansion).
I have a feeling the GARO gear is here to stay on a permanent basis. I have been wrong before but I can't see them removing a tier of ilvl gear without releasing something to replace it.
You know what's over 6 months and after the release of 4.0? Infinity.
For the armoire issue, it's the same problem we've had with PVP glamour since it was introduced. I've got a dozen sets sitting on my retainers. It would be amazing if we could put all PVP gear in the amoire.
That said, at least this issue isn't quite as bad as it used to be. With Wolf Mark rewards increased, gear costs decreased and PVP queue times actually reasonable (for the time being), I'll feel a lot more comfortable tossing out old sets, knowing that it won't take me months to earn them back.
As the materia slots don't actually work in any meaningful way now (only active in PVP... except disabled in PVP) would anyone mind if they were removed in exchange for armoire storage?
I don't mind normal PVP gear being unstorable since it's easy to buy back but here they are actively encouraging people to get a complete set for achievements and titles and they split some nigh-identical pieces into separate sets. Normally I only buy a few sets for my main jobs so the storage problem isn't so bad.
I think they troll us. Ok, they never told it is permanemt but they never told it is temporary too. They never announce ending time, that it crazy for collabo "event" that they must plan already. "It will last even after the release of 4.0" can mean it will be always in game too. I think they make us think it limited and must farm it quickly soon as possible before it gone. If they plan it to temporary event, it should can put in armoire from start same as yokai and other event. No reason for make it can't put in armoire when they told us all event gear can put in armoire immidiatly without waiting fo patch.
So I see they've said nothing still...lol I'm running out of space for all this stuff.
This many unique/limited time armour sets and no way to store them short of buying more retainers... ridiculous. It's becoming apparent that SE's solution is to get us to buy more space.
SE needs a glamour system like WOW or Diablo. Or alternatively let us store sets in the armoire if we have collected the full set. #annoyed
Hello, everyone~
We'd like to give you an update as we've been receiving a lot of requests globally for this.
As this is a long-term event, we want to ensure players have ample time to collect, as well as repurchase these items again.
For this reason, there are currently no plans to make it so players can store these items in the armoire.
However, we do understand the request and want to make these items available after the collaborative event has concluded, so we're currently looking into making these items available via the Calamity Salvager.
We're planning to implement this so players will be able to repurchase the Garo-related weapon, head, body, hands, legs, and feet equipment once they have obtained the achievement for obtaining the full gear set of the respective job.
With that said, since the belt and accessories are not part of the requirement for the achievement, you will not be able to repurchase them from the Calamity Salvager.
Again, thank you for your feedback and we hope you enjoy the Garo collaboration for the rest of its duration!
Thank you. :)
So as it currently stands in 3.51 the ring, bracelet, earrings, and choker are all glamorable. Since we won't be able to buy them again, does that mean that I need to spend 4 (20) inventory slots just in case I ever want to glamor them again? (I had originally thought that they were roll locked, they aren't)
If the devs really have no intention of letting us use the armoire for the:
65 armor pieces
13 weapons
20 accessories
7 belts
105 separate pieces of garo gear in total
(^that's more than half a retainer atm)
Yes I'm ocd, yes I did count/get both sets of gender pieces, yes I did get the 7 belts. No matter how long this temporary event is, its still temporary (ocd).
Could you at least make it so that the people who earned the title of "Makai Master" have access to buying all 105 pieces in the future? I will leave the matter of currently requiring all combat jobs to be at 60 to get said achievement to someone else.
I've actually had to discard some items after getting the title for that job. I have NO room. And neither do my retainers.
