They said no new race before 5.0 if i remember well. so i guess more custom :)
Ohhhh, okay. I didn't hear about that. Hoping for more customization then!
Hopefully some more realistic muscle definition would be nice.
Already had confirmed that there would be no new race in the 4.0 So I guess, they are going to put more customization options.
Now the question, what kind of options will or will be more of the same? (Only in greater quantity?)
Are we really doing this again?

(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻HORN CUSTOMIZATION OR RIOT(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
There's no new race planned for 4.0 and so a lot of people are hoping for that to mean that - along with PS3 support being dropped - we're going to get additional customisation options instead for the existing races. Something that has been heavily requested and is sorely needed.
"...hoping for that to mean that..." <-- Key phrase there.
I hope we get more customization options. *-* My biggest gripe about this game was the huge lack of character customization options in comparison to other games; most of which DON'T require a subscription fee, if completely free to play. Idk about anyone else, but if I'm paying to play a game, I want my character to be as uniquely me as possible. >.>
And then it will just transform into critiquing whatever options they do or don't add. (After all, no matter what they add, there will be people disappointed that it wasn't something else.)
Personally, I'm hoping for some more catlike Miqo'te options. Perhaps with a third clan for each of the existing races (the catlike ones being the third Miqo'te clan).
I'd be open to a third clan/tribe/whatever for existing races and all. Starchaser Miqo'te, don't have Clans or Tribes but Houses, are refined and sophisticated compared to their tribal and clannish cousins, tend to focus on magic and scholarly pursuits, etc...
What do you mean by more catlike options? They seem fairly catlike as is without devolving into Beast Tribe territory.
If they had more custom. , hope they will offer a fantasia :)
* if they add
Sry cant change my post on mobile version :3
Off-topic, but if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page there's an option to view the full site. I had to click it like twice for whatever reason but it worked and I can edit my posts on the phone now. Idk why I didn't know this until like three and a half hours ago. Mind was blown. \o/
I love my character as is but I'd gladly welcome more customization. The existing races could use it. One I am really hoping for is ability to change horns on the au ra.
The ability to use more then one face paint...etc.
Hopefully we get more character customization.
I wish a viera race would have been introduced in 4.0. Maybe viera will be included in 5.0.
Do we really need bunny-girls in addition to cat-girls? Maybe just additional ear types for mi'qote, so they could be from the bunny tribe if they wanted?
I would honestly be fine with SE just making a third clan of Miqo'te having longer ears and permanently short tails (matching the rabbit look) and making them vastly different like Highlanders are with Midlanders. At least then it's just one new clan and not a new race with two clans. That's as far as I would go for a compromise.
And SE won't butcher the Viera people apparently love so much for some reason, since it won't be a Viera, but still kinda new within a current race.
Bulge Slider. Just saying @_@.
Well, I've never played XI, so I don't know things like how they move and such, but from a Google image search, they seem to at least have options for some somewhat more catlike facial markings on the forehead and cheeks, which I'd like, but it's not much and the ones not using those options don't seem any more catlike than the Miqo'te here.
I would like to see Miqo'te with:
- facial / body markings in a tabby pattern (possibly Siamese seal point or calico options as well)
- carnivore teeth
- claws (nothing dramatic that would change the shape of our hands, but something like what Claws of the Beast or the Ehcatl Wristgloves offer, so more like pointed fingernails)
- possibly a hint of fur if it could be done subtly enough to stay out of beast tribe territory
- more catlike use of the ears and tail in emotes. (Lashing your tail back and forth, for instance, belongs with /furious, not /happy. And why don't our ears perk forward or swivel around during /lookout and /alert respectively?)
(I guess full Ronso style cat people would be too beast tribe for this game. Too bad about that. Ronso are cool.)
Thing about the Mithra was the facial markings were tied to the hairstyles, meaning you couldn't mix and match. Everyone pretty much played the white spiky haired one as well. One thing I like about being elezen, so many people play tails on XIV I get to feel like a unique special snowflake. However, I do agree that all the races need more customization options.
Yeah XI didn't have a lot of options. Height was decided by either picking small, medium, or large. Each race had 8 face options, and each face had two different hair colors. For example, my elvaan could have either black or silver hair. It was VERY common to run into your twin in XI. In that regard XIV is way ahead in the customization game, buuut having more options is never a bad thing. Personally, I'd like to see the wildwood's earring clamps be made available to duskwights.
All I ask is a slightly bigger butt for my femroe. My character's behind is not proportional to the rest of her body.
Well, XI was on PS2, so the lack of options really wasn't that surprising. My comment about Mithras was under the assumption you'd have the same customization capacity with them as you do with the current races, or more. More bestial looking, more cat-like nose-mouth designs, sharper teeth (Moon Keepers have sharp canines, very hard to see though), light/thin fur, more exaggerated use of the ears/tails, etc.
The biggest gripe I have about Miqo'te customization is the fangs being exclusive to the Moon Keepers. I love the way those look, but I can't stand the eyes on them. I suppose that was the trade off between the two clans, the Seekers got the feral eyes, the Keepers got the teeth. I would've preferred it if either clan could have either style of eyes or fangs, and have the difference be elsewhere, like ear shape or much greater variation in skin tones.
I'm going to laugh so hard if 4.0 brings no new customisation and no new race.
Well they all but have confirmed no race for 4.0 so... get the laughing out I guess?
Wait, "Return to Ivalice" and there are no Vieras?!
Sacrilege!
They've stated that while they contemplated Viera at one point, that ultimately the way the feet are would make them difficult to really handle in-game from a development point of view. I doubt we ever see them, and I kind of wish they'd never even hinted at them, since it's generally whipped the fanbase into a frenzy and it's unlikely to be sated at this point. (They also have two "beast-like" race options in-game currently, and I doubt they're in any rush to add a third anytime soon).
We may get something for 5.0! I doubt it'll be Viera though.
Well, uhm... you mean like this?

You know... Ivalice and Red Mage fits perfectly fine to them!

I think the thing with the feet as more to do with the fact that existing armor would need to be modified specifically to accommodate the Viera, and Yoshi said something about that being just too much work. :| That particular piece of armor is just modeled that way anyhow and alters the feet of any character that wears it to match. So I think that's different? Idk, I'm not a programmer/game designer. ;;;;
As for that race/clan graphic though, I'd actually have to jump on the mixed race train. It would be really cool to see mixed race options, plus it could answer some long-running questions about how mixed race pairings and offspring work in the game world.
Personally, I would be ok with a viera race that have normal human feet if digitigrade feet were out of the question.
