The trailer was hype as hell.
The armors, the mounts, the weapons.
When and How? :3
Looks rad af
I love the mage outfits and the flying horse! Well..I got all the Youkai stuff so..bring it on SE lol
edit: apparently it comes from PVP and Gold Saucer? That is what gamerscape said, they translated it on twitter.
The new mounts (2 of them) will come from tba achievements.
You'll be able to dye the armor you get through PvP, but not the set you buy from Gold Saucer.
You'll be able to get the equipment through PvP or Gold Saucer!!

Also really hopeful that the little transformation is actually somehow included, and not just something they threw together for the trailer.
Me like a lot.
Those mounts are amazing, seriously can't wait to ride on those mounts :O! Love this collab much more then the Youkai Watch XD.
As long as this isn't as much as ahorrific boring grind as Yokai was.
I think this event is probably the 2nd most annoying to look at. Why this, and not anything Square Enix related or even video-game media related? I don't know what the !&#@ Garo is, how would I know until some guy mentioned it? And didn't we already have a power rangers esque event already? Oh, not to mention, we already have lion heads and panther masks. They're already in PvP. The only thing remotely new is the mounts but only barely since they're horses with new effects. Now, I'm glad they tied this in with PvP, but if they made it for the one goddamn mode that would take the absolute longest to accumulate points (4v4) I'm gonna lose it because they haven't learned they're lesson about tedious BS. Anyways, looking forward to them not messing this up -_-
The armor looks interesting and nice to see we can grab it from Gold Saucer if we choose, but still makes me wonder where is our half of the PSO2 collaboration event?
GARO is an adult tokusatsu series that airs in Japan past midnight.
Tokusatsu are stuff like Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, etc, to name the more known ones.
GARO is a tokusatsu whose target audience were adults, (hence airing past midnight).
It's actually a pretty entertaining series.
Also, I somehow kinda remember that Square was one of the sponsors/publisher for GARO Tokusatsu series as well, but don't quote me on this statement cause it's been a while since I watched it, and I might be wrong, and I probably am wrong.
Ga.. ro..? Never heard of it.
-googles-
Oh. Anime? Never seen it. Nice armours and mounts. Is the anime any good, worth watching?
There are two anime, though the majority of the series' are actually live-action dramas.
As to the animes, I've only seen the first, which I greatly enjoyed. Interesting characters, engrossing story, and had one of the best choreographed fight scenes I've ever seen in anime.
The "live action dramas" of GARO (which isn't actually 'live action drama', there's a term for these kinds of shows - Tokusatsu) have actually been running for a lot longer than the anime of GARO, which, again I say, is a pretty entertaining series.
Though the anime is quite good too, I've only watched the first one(anime) that came out.
I
NEED
THIS!!!
Seriously, Garo is one of my favorite toku series, and I'm so hyped they took the armor designs of the Makai Knights appearing in the first 2 season. I *so* want to cosplay Kouga!
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, THIS IS GARO! THE BEST MODERN TOKUSATSU IN JAPAN!
Who cares about the anime, when we've got the ORIGINAL Kouga-era armor! Garo, Zero, Dan, and Kiba, all right here for us! They even get their own versions of Gouten! Anyone who has even the slightest idea of what Garo is would be crying tears of joy at the sight of this crossover event!
While I'm happy for those who know this specific series; this is the first time I've literally face-palmed watching a teaser trailer. What happened to cross overs being from other FFs in the series? It was stretching it a bit going into other SE works, then really went off the deep end with yokai; now it feels like they're just going with whoever can throw the most money at them to get advertised in a game. Some of the stuff looks cool as stand-alone (not knowing where it came from etc), so its not like I'm griping about the 'goodies' in general, but the aspect of where its coming from just feels entirely off for a FF game.
I think the armor looks gaudy and I find Japanese theatrics a bit anointing to look at. Its always the same thing and once you've seen 1 over exaggerated pose you've seen them all.
Call me when theres a Nier/Drakengard crossover with Yoko Taro's direction involved.
Great, so they can mention this in the next Live Letter that we all watch, direct us to his previous works and let it be settled at that. His influence alone in the next 24 man should give enough 'spark' of interest to his work if players find it that interesting. I'm sure you could pull a huge deal of random things from previous works of all the employees at SE (temp or not), doesn't mean it should be shoved into a setting it doesn't relate to. I still stand by my previous comment.
We've been asking over and over for an XV crossover, and they do an obscure crossover most people havent heard of? Oh, well at least the stuff is awesome. Never mind that I have no idea on what it even is lol.
Not even a direct comparison. I never played a Ogre game before a couple years ago, not really a fan of it. Yet I can still see the connection due to both being fantasy 'sword & sorcery' type games, with styles being largely similar in armor design. That fits as 'a bit of a stretch' category for me, not 'some random thing they pulled from T.V.' category. Not to mention the comparison falls flat even in your own wording, that gear was just dungeon gear. Neatly placed quietly in said dungeons for people relate and pull from if they wanted it. It didn't need a huge trailer, or event, for it to fit in.
Edit: Anyways, I'm heading to bed now. If you like this series, then seriously, I'm glad for you. It just really doesn't fit though for the FF series fandom and doesn't give the same broad hype that another FF internal cross event would've given.

I have a need of that black horse they showed..do not care much for the armor but that horse.
So they can make these horses fly, but not the old 2.X primal horses? DansGame
Does anyone know the name of the theme they use?
those armor and those mounts looks insane
I saw the anime a while ago and loved it. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully it's not FATE spam/PVP/MGP farming. I'd rather fight the actual demons in some sort of special instance/dungeon.
The explosion at the start of the trailer scared my birds so bad my Budgie Esti took off and flew into a wall. ಠ_ಠ
The actual content looks meh. Tokusatsu was never my cup of tea but if it gives people new goals to work towards and enjoy that's all that matters.
