I feel like there's too many suggestions floating around. Not that player feedback is bad, it's just that there's no way they can accommodate all of us. All I'm seeing on the forums lately is suggestions of things that you think the developers should do. Then If people don't get what they want, they whine about it forever. I'm definitely supportive of fan content, but we need to let the developers make the next expansions how they would make them. That's how new, original, and solid content is usually made. I find it hard to believe that the developers can sustain themselves on fan suggestions alone. They need to be inspired for themselves.
We need to let the devs be devs.

I agree that the Dev team should focus on their vision of the game, but at the same time gather all the feedback from the forums as much they can. Something a developer comes up with, might not work very well with their player base. If the players are vocal enough about it and present the devs with their constructive suggestions and perspective on it, the team can change a feature to match the wishes of its player base (while not losing sight of their original goals).
That's why i always ask people to continue giving feedback about the game, no matter if they think a feature/content is good or not and how they would like to see it differently. It will eventually be send to the Dev team through our Community Reps. They will filter out the ridiculous request from the good ones though. -

Think about where AST would be right now if we didn't "whine" about it.
They felt that AST and MCH was perfectly fine. If we didn't give our input they would be in 3.4 horrifically underpowered.
When topics like this show up, that essentially tells everyone who gives feedback on the game to shut up, it really bothers me. -

I don't mind the aesthetic posts (except the Viera thing, by the twelve let that rest) which the devs can easily ignore or posts about job balance issues and such the only posts I cannot stand are the ones that pop up on everything about nerfs or things that take time. It's an mmo we need at least a couple optional long term goals that are not going to be squashed by the next update and a lil challenge is fun...
I will direct you to the thread about that optional Sophia ex fight being too hard. You know that thing so so many can do with their toes while eating dinner and watching Netflix. I mean, I just, I don't... come the heck on.
What I will get on the devs about, and have called them out on many posts about various topics, is when they say "look at this cool thing we are going to do!" and then never ever mention it again. So annoying. -

Perhaps you didn't consider that after making so many suggestion posts, along with other members of this community, I thought about things a little. I'm allowed to slow down on suggestions if I feel a reason to. Maybe instead of making fun of me, and trying to get petty due to the things that I post, you could ignore it and move on. We're all allowed to have our own opinions, and lately I feel that there are TOO MANY suggestions.
I would also like to add that the way people are negatively linking my topics is petty, and sad. You shouldn't pressure people just because you think their opinion is odd, or doesn't align with you. Yeah, its easy to make fun of me, because I want our characters bodies to have a little more realism i.e muscle sliders, and more obvious nipples, but its also stooping quite low. You made those posts knowing that it would be easy for people to make fun of me for those opinions.
Lastly, I never did say that people couldn't make suggestions, all I was trying to do was portray another point of view. I really want people to consider that the game developers have to be inspired with their work, and so it might be good for the game if we let some of our wants go. That's ALL. I wasn't saying anyone HAD TO do a certain thing, but instead you try to incite a flame war with me.
I am tired of it. Absolutely tired of it. People here LOVE to make enemies with me when my opinions suddenly don't line up to others. Instead of just taking a step back and thinking, "I don't agree with them, whatever." people get offended over every word. Last time I checked, Final Fantasy XIV was an MMO, and there were millions of players.
There has to be many more thoughts, and minds. So when you don't agree with someone, do your self a favor, and LET IT GO. Constantly getting flustered, and playing witch hunt-like games is not only highly unproductive, but it also shuns people out of the community. -

This forum is crazy and everything, but I'm sure the Devs pick out the good and not so good idea's.
You know, without all of us trying to come together and make this game better than this is, especially in 1.0 and thanks to Legacy players and some others...
This game would of been gone and dead, shut down and never to be revived since the moment all servers were closed.
But don't be sitting here saying "We need them to do this and that." Okay, meanwhile they encourage us to come on here and give idea's or feedback and everything else.
If I could praise one thing about this game, the devs honestly TRY to listen to us for the most part, or try to chime in and take suggestions into consideration.
Without us as a whole community, this game wouldn't be where it is today.
So I actually thank the devs for listening to us some of the time so we can all make this game good and last a long time.
So the more suggestions the better.
Minus the Cash Shop ones because I honestly think people are picking nerves at that point...but anyways yea. -

They are part of a business and this business needs cash flow, otherwise FFXIV would have been a free game. Since FFXIV needs cash, it needs customer and we the customer have stuff that want or expect from the game. If the developers ignore the players, then they will not know what we, the players like and dislike. SE has people that will filter the good suggestions from the ones where people are trolling.
Feedback is important, we should give it (I wish developers brought back the ingame polls from the BETA) and developers need it or else the game will never improve. -

@Damian: I know that people in this forum can sometimes be quite aggressive and attack people for the smallest things but I dont really see this in this thread. People have the right to point out if someone behaves to the contrary and it its kinda surprising if one reads through the list of threads you created in the last few weeks. You create a thread asking if people complain too much but at the same time you create more than one threat complaining about something (and imo complaining is not something bad as long as its done in a civil way.)
You more than once attacked other people for their opinion but when other people disagree with you (there is a difference to disagreeing or attacking someone) you write like you are bullied? People can change their opinion but you also have to be prepared to say why you changed and be ready to get criticized for it. Just remember that any post you do in this forum can be tracked back and one should always try to post in a way that wont give others the means to criticize you. Maybe its sometimes good to just look at oneself and think if maybe its not only the fault of other people but that maybe my own behavior isn't really helping the situation.
There are a lot of threads in this forum and I often wish that we would create more mega threads (like the one for glamour) instead of making one thread for each single glamour. But that does not mean that these threads dont have a reason to exist. (Especially in case of the exclusive stuff..Yoshida did say that we should post our opinion on that so why should people stop?) I do dislike threads that are simply there for trolling or as a bait thread as a reaction to another one.
I agree that devs should be able to have their own vision of things but I disagree that we should not be able to criticize it. We are paying them money and thus we have a right to say if we dislike it, at the same time they have the right to ignore it. (But with the consequences that they might lose some customers) If you create something you sometimes get blind to other ideas or to the faults in it because you only see the good sides of your idea..yet as humans the devs are not without mistakes. I am not sure if the diadem would exist like it does now if a portion of the customer base would have been able to test it beforehand. Even if they have a vision, its kinda useless if barely anyone likes it (see 1.0) because in the end they are still a company that needs money..and if you do enough things that will scare your customer away or that is not fun for a lot of your players than you might have been able to create the game you want, but at the same time it wont live long..
So in the end a balance is needed. You cant always just do everything that your customers want because it might not be good for the whole game or for the whole players or is just too costly but at the same time you cant just go around and ignore everything that your customers want. Especially in a market like the MMO.
If you think that there are too many suggestions than this is your opinion and if you believe it than you probably should hold yourself to this too but you cant decide for the whole playerbase if they can create a thread or not. If someone believes that their fun would grow bigger if they have children that follow them around than its in their right to create a thread about it. And its also in the right for the rest of the writers to say why it might not be a good idea or maybe even get lots of people that like it too. SE has their own workers that will then decide if something is worth bringing it towards the devs.
If you dont like a discussion or find it not necessary than just ignore it. If only people answer it that truly care about it than either you will have a long thread that is full of argument for and against it but shows that there is some kind of need to discuss it or you have a thread that will fall of the first pages really fast because there is no interest. But sadly lots of people just post GIFs or one-liners that are completely off topic and with that keeping the thread way longer alive than it should.
That are just my two cents. I fear that you will take this just as another personal attack..but its not meant as one..(but creating such a topic means that you might have lots of people that disagree with you, but not because its you but because they dislike the topic which could mean that one of their argument is showing that it does not make sense by using older examples of your post. If someone only comes into a thread because it has your name on it and attack you without truly reading the topic than yes that would be bullying but I did not get the feeling that this happened here.)
