Considering the last time we were at a similar spot in regards to tome weapons and extreme Primals, the safe bet would be 260
lol it better be higher than 260....considering shire is 260
It probably won't be 260 until 3.5
Well, that's why it won't be higher :P
They did the same in the 210->230 step.
We will then in 3.5 or something get a new step that ups it to 270. And it's gonna be loooooong and painful. Maybe in 3.55 a last step for 275. I fully expect the one tomorrow to be more lenient.
I'd go with 265.
I think it will be 265, because the arr relic weapon the previous step to last was 125
Oh wait a minute, the Alexander weapons are 270 right now? Or was it 275?
Ye they were, however keep in mind that the relic weapon in 2.x (arr) was actually useful. Since they started late in 3.0 they are mostly glamour or for people that don't raid/craft/don't want to farm tomes (weekly lockouts that is). I would love to see the relic become more valuable but I won't hold my breath. Maybe in 4.0 but even then I doubt it, therefore I think tonight, we might be disappointed and get an update that yields ilvl 255 for now.
My bet if for a 260 ilvl and will not be hard to get.
The upgrade for 270 (and maybe 275) in 3.5 will be a pain! @_@
Should be 265, 5 items below savage so the top raiders get rewarded more and 5 item levels above shire 260 weapons.
Hope that the final step dont reach i275, raiders are supposed to have the best gear :3
being relic takes longer time to do I don't agree with raider weapon being higher. You can get that with a decent group. Now if they made it to have to raided weapon to make it even or higher that should be good.
Relic should always be the best weapon period they hold legendary names... The amount of work put into it is highest achievement compare to Raid weapons any day.
Easy step to upgrade to 260,like 5 items 1800 stones or a weekly run of something.
Next step is a grind leaving the weapon at 270
We getting those 2 steps on this patch.
That's my prediction.
I expect an i260 Relic quest this patch. Then an i275 Relic quest in either 3.5 or 3.55. I only expect those two upgrades, TBH - I do not expect some intermediary step somewhere.
I'd guess 260-265 for this patch and then ending at 275 in 3.5 most likely.
just to be different. i'm going to say 250.
I don't think they'd want to obsolete Sophia drops this quick into a patch.
The anima weapon progression, if I recall, has been:
170->180->200->210->230->240
It alternates between 10 and 20 iLvl jumps, and the next step in the pattern is a 20. Zo we should get i260 tomorrow, i270 for 3.5, and likely i275 from 3.55 if we go off of the Zodiac progression.

My friend here would like to say hello.
Agreed. :D <3
Ever since 2.0, Relics always received the same ilevel as the best savage raid weapons:
i115 High Allagan (T9) -> i115 Relic upgrade (3 months later)
i135 Dreadwyrm (T13) -> i135 Relic upgrade (3 months later)
i210 Gordian (A4S) -> i210 Relic Upgrade (3 months later)
However, raiders complained that weapons dropped from savage should be higher ilevel than relic weapons since far more skill is involved (and sometimes even takes way more time.) There was very little incentive to raid; especially with the story no longer tied to savage difficulty. And thus we received the previous raid tier:
i245 Midan (A8S) -> i240 Relic Upgrade (3 months later)
i275 Alexandrian (A12S) -> i270 Relic Upgrade (3 months later)
As far as this patch is concerned, Sophia Weapons become obsolete in 7 more days. Clearing A12 Normal seven weeks in a row gives you the seven Alex Gears you need to buy your Micro Tomestone. Which let's you purchase your i260 weapon for 1,000 Scripture. Considering how easy it is to obtain this i260 Weapon, there's no reason the Relic won't be i260.
270 or 65 at the very least, any lower and they really aren't worth it, as being similar to shire weapons make them not worth the bother. Not to mention you can upgrade shire weapons. but as people have said the pattern does seem they usually match the highest raid weapons, so i'll assume that is where they will be.
Raiders are the only ones that actually need the weapons, as 255 weapons are more then enough for any other content, but relics are a serious grind fest, and people aren't going to be motivated much (unless they just really want something to do) if the ilvl isn't up to par with a much easier to get, buyable weapon. (everyone will have a shire weapon in the next 2 weeks due to reaching 7 gears)
As a raider who beat A12S first week... I hate this idea that the relic weapon is so irrelevant, I wanted it to be a nice boon to progression. I really want to see something new with Relic's in 4.x, because in 3.x they have been terribly irrelevant for Raiders and Non-Raiders, this isn't good, this isn't what a relic is suppose to be.
Nope. Close, but you have an extra step in there.
I170->i200->i210->i230->i240
To get i170 you had to hand in a Zeta or do the FATE grind.
To get i200 you had to run ten dungeons.
To get i210 you had to collect a bunch of stuff and hand in for four pieces to hand in to Gerolt.
To get i230 you had to hand in 5 Aether Oils (CT weekly, or 1800 lower tomestones).
To get i240 you had to do the Sand/Umbrite grinds.
Additionally, ARR Relic went i80, i90 (+1 or Zenith), i100 (atma), i100 (animus - no ilevel increase), i110 (novus), i115 (nexus), i125 (zodiac), i135 (zeta).
Anima upgrade is 260 at-best, it'll probably be a short upgrade like the 230 was to reward those who got the 240 step done.
The new PoTD weapons are i255. However Sophia i255 weapons are still a good investment and to gear your alt jobs, or to get into Savage at-least. Plus seeing how many out there still have last tier's i240 or worse, less. Can't say it'll be outdated considering most of the normal population doesn't even have beyond 240.
It is true we raiders don't "need" the anima considering every A10S clear weekly is another shire tome weapon for the raid. Then clearing A11S regularly for the Gobdip to upgrade the Shire weapon to 270. So the anima step is just a glamour at-best or "better" sub-stats until you get the tome/gobdip upgrade.
Its nice though for Healers still. You get your Accuracy without needing to overmeld, forcing you to hold onto green i250 pieces, when eventually you should be at least 260 from shire + raids. :O
I only use my sophia weapon in expert since ACC doesn't matter there.
Yeah, I'll probably get two weeks worth of use out of the 260 anima upgrade at-best. Until it's my turn for an A11S gobdip or I'll likely just spend the pages for it for the Shire 270 upgrade. Or we just kill A12S this coming month and then it's whatever I can get by with lol. Higher Weapon Damage still is the best upgrade over any substat for healers, then ACC cap. I do like right side VIT V melds for progression, so I agree the anima does help, it's not a need but certainly it gives more options for healers with raid progression too.
I do need to remove some of the 120 ACC off my SCH anima though, as I'm sure most were planning on this tier being much higher than A8S. Plus I plan on keeping all three healers at cap.
