I recently got PLD to 60 and geared up. I went into A9 and I was drained of just about all of my TP at the 50% mark. I've heard that PLD's had issues with TP but I didn't think it would be this bad. Anything I can do to make sure I don't run out this early?
Advice for managing TP for PLD?

Sorry no. If there is no one to help you, then your only option is to keep goring blade up because it's your highest damage by far, and cast a SS/Clemency or two. It sucks. Especially with the SS dump most of us have right now

In that particular fight, save tp by not attack when Full Metal Faust is out.
Until Faust's body gets consumed, Refurbisher will have a massive vulnerability down. -

Clemency and SS are our only "TP regen" skills atm unless you just want to sit there and AFK while waiting TP ticks.

It's only a problem when your total dps is low. Ending the fight as soon as possible is the best way to not even care about your TP. But that's ofc not something you can control all the time.

What a lot of people are saying about pushing higher dps to clear content faster is nonsense as well. Firstly, most of the time you'll be running in DF. Expecting DF-Pick up Groups to push phases is lunacy. Secondly, you ran out of Tp in A9 at ~ 50% of the fight (which is pretty common from what I've seen in that fight so far). That means that the dps would have to clear the content at double the speed just for you to still have enough Tp to keep attacking. Assuming your clear was anywhere near the standard clear time for that fight, then that is an incredibly unrealistic expectation. With current gear levels, it's doubtful that your dime-store DF Dps would even be capable of pushing those kind of numbers. AS a Pld, you are also almost incapable of doing anything about pushing Dps, because you have no way of buffing your party's dps other than running in Sword Oath, which really won't be enough to speed things up enough to matter. In fact, you'll eventually hurt you party dps just by running out of TP and being unable to sustain your attack.
Unfortunately, SE seems to think that this state of affairs is completely fine, which is why they've allowed this problem to repeat itself something like three or four times since the original ARR content. If they keep to their traditions, then they'll just patch us again with yet another Tp reduction somewhere in our rotation to hold us over until the next set of gear puts us over on Skill Speed again, and the cycle will continue. The only way to avoid it is to wash your hands of it. You're better off playing as War or Drk, neither of which suffer the same Tp drawbacks, nor do they have to rely so heavily on other jobs and party performance just to stay afloat. -

A11 normal, A12 normal, and Sophia Extreme for example have enough times where you need to move or the boss jumps that TP should never be an issue no matter what tank you are. In Xelphatol/Gubal also the DPS requirements aren't so high that you'll have TP issues unless both your DPS disconnect at the start of a boss fight.Quote:

Dark Knight has attacks that uses MP instead of TP, Warrior can switch to Deliverance and use Equilibrium... the other two tanks have ways around flatlining TP that Paladin doesn't have. Maybe they'll give Paladin an MP aoe attack and kill two of my biggest gripes with it at the moment, but until then, I guess Paladins just have to cope.

My only advice to you in terms of regular content is lean on flash more, dont burn through your RoH combo.
Normally what I like to do whenever I start running low on TP in a Savage boss fight, is I'll put Goring Blade and Fracture up, go into shield oath then stand there and use Clemency on the party or flash with my remaining MP until i'm at about 500 ish, then go back to sword oath and keep beating on the boss

Do you use Shield Lob to pull? If so you can walk straight up to the boss and it wont trigger him. So thats a nice 120tp saver there.

11-26-2016, 08:08 PMFernosaurAfter Refurbisher does Scrapline during FM Faust, he has no cleaves and no other AoE moves, so the MT should go help bringing Faust down, since hitting Refurbisher is a waste of time. As Ilan said, if you're doing Savage it's very likely that you'll have at least a BRD or MCH, so asking for Army's Paeon, for a Spire from AST, or for Goad from a NIN should free you of TP problems. Another point in favor of having the MT go beat up FM Faust is that your healers' AoE healing will most definitely reach you (super Whispering Dawn+Asylum can help both healers DPS Faust without worrying about the tanks too much).Quote:
