RIP Diadem.
The anima step is now what it should have been from the very beginning.
Nerfed to oblivion.
Well looks like I'll be able to complete this anima step in a day now, instead of weeks.
Well, I was expecting either the costs to be halved or the number of turn-ins to be halved, but certainly not this. Still, bringing it down to 10 days of the ARR beast tribes (excluding the Ixal) and 80k GC seals is something I can't complain about.

Ugh..can't wait for the servers to come up so I can finish this step and move onto the current step!
If changing a relic step is a whole patch... I'm gonna be looking for a new game.
Dat 210 Anima nerf.
While I do appreciate the removed lockout on the gears and reducing it from 7 to 4 for the tome the lore price is still the same so even if you do farm for dem tomes you still need 2.3 weeks for the lores.
That's true. Plus clearing Deep Dungeon several times gives other useful rewards.
I feel like there is going to be some other use / story for anima weapons. Like with Zodiac weapons, we could exchange them to skip an anima weapon step.
Now I'm working on my 2nd anima weapon and this nerf just made things a whole lot easier.
Already started saving up umbrite too. It should be done before I know it.
Still don't have my relic but at this rate yeah. Can probably get two of them. I never did get around to crafting those other items even though I'm capped. I mean why bother if you don't have the unidentified stuff. Now I'll just be doing it for myself.
Bring on 3.4, I need that reclamation timer to come back so I can upgrade to a Medium!
I'm working on an Anima weapon. As a person who is pretty new by most standards to HW that only plays 3 + hours max every couple days. Shit is getting really old. PotD killed Nid/ex, not that Nid/EX didn't kill it self in PF. Alexander is more useful this patch(upcoming) then it ever has been. Still Lore capped for some inexplicable reason. What the hell do you all do and enjoy in this game? TT vs Rewena (Shoots foot off).
Nothing of interest in this patch for me.
Started playing about 6 months ago. Took two months just to get to 210 and now all that gil I spent on the HQ items has become a bitter memory since I can just buy the nq things with seals now. Damn them for making it easier for me to get my WAR anima.
Holy Bloody Hell Batman! That's one Major Nerf! O_o!
Buddy I'm Working on my anima weapon too. I just got the WHM staff to 200 last week and started working on 210 this week. I saw posts that 3.38 was gonna nerf the 210 step so decided to wait and see... From what my FC has been saying the Crystal sand is more of a headache then this lol. This is the norm of FF14 and for the record the 2.x Relic quests are nerfed to hell as well. So I don't really see why your complaining for minor patch. When in 2 patch cycles they nerf it down for everyone else to catch up.
Maybe this will lower the AH price if those items are still there. Good thing I kept that penny and farthing from last week.
HAHAHAHAHAHA i feel so bad for the millions of gil wasted on anima weapons.
Hello there!
I just read the patch notes and i've a problem (or doubt..)
I was taking my time to take the 80 objects needed for the Anima Weapon, and i was going for 1 at a time.
At this point i have something like 20 Bones, and 17 Seeds, what am i supposed to do with them?
(I only have 1 class at 60, and i don't think i'll ever do another Anima Weapon..)
Are they complete garbage at this point?
Ehh, I wouldn't go that far. This more or less turns the 210 Step into a complete joke. Fine when it's nine months old, but had they done it initially, you'd basically have a Savage equivalent weapon for a fraction of the effort. That being said, pre-nerf was far too monotonous.
If you really never make another anima, then yeah. But I recommend holding onto them or storing them if you have the space, just in case you change your mind.
Playing other classes can be a nice change of pace. Or maybe you'll just see a weapon that you think -looks- really nice. Glamour is the true endgame for many.
Dang it SE, I was just finished with my WHM and now you tempt me to get another one.... ._.
This is the reason they make it time consuming.
A4S was broken in mechanics, and A3S was brutally difficult, balance is required in content when comparing similar Ilevels from different areas in content. Releasing a weapon with the same Ilevel as the Raid Weapon and it's simple to get compared to the Raid weapon will ruin the game for the majority of raiders. It will remove the whole point of even doing it.
Edit: The main reason why they moved the Raid weapons back to 5 Ilevels higher compared to highest weapons in the current content. Working down a Raid boss isn't as easy as it looks when you attempt to progress the final floors. Well, ignoring this current Raid patch (Except A8S) and Final Coil.
Knew it. This is precisely why I benched my 2nd anima weapon @ this step. Stopped gathering tokens at about 10 each and refused to pay for the overpriced HQ crafted items (not like the mats are even hard to come by) when I knew that at the very least the items would be NQ trade-ins (and now it's GC token-able as well).
No gil wasted, no surprises here.
So basically nothing new on this patch, huh ..
Oh well, guess I'll go back to grind Chocobo Helmet.
"Patch 3.38 brings a number of additions and refinements to the realm, including adjustments to the anima weapon and more!"
..and more! Ok no, you're right, it's just adjustments to lore/anima weapons and nothing else. Time to collect more weapons for glamor because I'm crazy @.@
I won't be. I don't want the relic weapons, any of them in fact. I happen to think the relics for my main jobs (pld and drk) are absolutely hideous and as a result I don't want them. That being said, I did look in to the grind for the relic out of curiosity and I stand by my assertion that the 200 -> 210 step was absolutely ridiculous along with the fact that SE took the player feedback on NOT making the relic too grindy and threw it in to a furnace.
Still their not going to make it simple to get compared to a current Raid Exclusive weapon. Grind or not, they have to make it time consuming.
Was fully expecting at least a 50% cut to the unids, didn't foresee all the other nerfs LOL. So glad I didn't bother putting any more effort into that disgusting step.
Hum,
I got 2 weapons on last phase (spirit feeding (well one is feeding the other is waiting)),
Good thing i kept 99 of each tribal money, this mean 3 weapons finishing this step (and was 1/3 of a weapon before this patch), and some craft to do too.
Guess the next bottle neck will be oil now (need memoquartz for feeding more than buying oil).
By the way, nobody noticed something special on this patch release calendar?
No?
like just in time for game anniversary?
If you remember last time we had a special event in game to enter in Development team room.
I believe this is the wrong mindset to have in regards to the relic. I'm going to go ahead and say it, it being equal to a raid weapon at that early point in the xpac is irrelevant (not to mention the fact that if you were a raider you got the 210 weapon way before the relic was out anyway and since you got it first, people having a 210 weapon later shouldn't matter), the relic steps should have been designed on the time of release, i.e. the first relic steps should have had an incremental difficulty increase from the beginning and gotten harder later. The excessive and painful grind should be saved for the mid to late stages, the earliest stages (up to the 210 point) should have been the easiest out of all them and THEN ramped up as you went to the 230 and to the 240.
