This isn't anything against premade teams. Hell, do that more often. No, this is advice:

STAY. FOCUSED.

By that I mean, don't worry about if you're dealing with a premade team or not. I say it all the time; the moment you think of your enemies as anything more than just that, you give them the advantage. Yes, be aware of their strategies, pay close attention to the flow of battle, work together, and adapt as necessary. But do NOT get caught up in WHO you're fighting.

Please understand, the only benefit a premade can possibly have over non-premade is better coordination. Beyond that, there is nothing they can do that you can't. Their healers have the same cooldowns and vulnerabilities as yours. Your MNKs are capable of the same things their MNKs are. Theoretically, against a team of the exact same comp, it becomes little more than who can work as a team. And it IS possible to beat a premade, even if you are not. But the moment you hesitate or begin to worry that you're facing a premade, you've given them an advantage. Don't do that.

The problem with your assessment is that you assume the average premade player and the average PvP player are of the same level. I would argue that is not the case with the average premade player usually being way stronger. When you have a team of top PvPers banding together, the result is bound to be unbalanced however the other side is playing.

Now I don't say people should give up without giving a fight, but it's a steep hill to climb.

"Its possible to win against a premade" that may be true but thats most of the time if you run away from fights. Premades arent something you can deal with with a random group most of the time every single player in those premade have way more experience than "avg" pvp players that you get matched with. As soon as they farmed kills and got fevers your dps and healers dont stand a chance from my experience you win rarely against a premade in 8vs8vs8

Uhm...that's not a very soothing thing to say, considering this is pretty much the most important thing in a team based game. Which you, uh...happen to acknowledge four sentences later.

Plus, the psychological aspect can also go the other way: If you think of the enemy as a superior foe, you might think of it as a challenge and thus, strive harder than usual to overcome it.

Personally, I only even notice premades by their consistent, abnormal coordination, so I tend to just stop queuing or switch GCs when I see that, no big deal. Just don't come complaining about queues.

The people I saw complain most often about premades were their own worst enemy. If not Nex Cross, they died alone on the opposite side of the map from the alliance doing who knows what.

Not that they aren't much more difficult to beat when they're top players, but it's far from impossible. Worse is the fact that there's little competition, little community to get everyone banding together to coordinate, and little interest in real challenge.

Well but coordinated lbs is nothing u can counter with pugs also alot of ppl complaining about premades destroying the solo q which is right xD

Except that premades are also typically made up of the better/best PVPers on the DC.

Sometimes, but I've seen some pretty mediocre ones coming from less-populated servers (ie, Cactuar).

Although it's funny as hell when we squash one "top" pvper with a PUG group he comes back with a full party of 8 because he really isn't that good without his 3-4 pocket healers.
What's even better is that after you beat him a few times he does nothing throughout an entire match:

If there's anyone who doesn't deserve to be called a top pvper, it's that individual based on his attitude alone.

. . . Who have the same tools you have to work with. So again, it's not WHO you're fighting, it's how well you fight. And you can't fight at your best if you hesitate or become intimidated. Again, there's nothing they can do that others can't, and this includes forming your own premade. Even so, coordination, proper use of skills and the battlefield itself, and teamwork can overcome odds. Someone mentioned running away; tell me, aside from obvious cheating tactics which are punishable of course, is there anything considered "foul play"? Fair or Good strategy is anything that keeps you and your team alive and helps you achieve victory. If that means running, so be it. If it means aggressive offense, so be it.

The most important part is to not get caught up in the fact that you're fighting something/someone thought to be prestigious. Don't ignore the fact, no, but don't be swayed or intimidated by it. Consider this: did Muhammad Ali ever show doubt or fear or concern over WHO he fought? Or did he get in there and fight at his best, regardless? Psychological warfare is a very real and VERY effective part of ANY battle. Focus. Fight hard. Win against any odds.

So? More satisfaction when you backhand them for daring to come out of base in the first place.

If they're not an 8-man premade, they're not that hard to beat. Just two decent Adders working together is enough to get a winning streak against GCs with only a few big names if you can outmaneuver them as a GC. We've done it.

Although there was one really annoying 5-healer premade from Zalera (I think). Their AST killed our BLM after a skirmish... just chased him down with DOTs while he ran back to me through caves shouting in Discord.

All of this was a hell of a lot more interesting than Shatter.

Gonna have to agree with the OP on this one.While, ya premades can be difficult to deal with simply because their reaction time/aggression seems quicker/larger (more faith in team mates means bigger plays), no, theyre not impossible to deal with. They bleed too. What gets me sick is hearing my own teammates use that 'We can't win against em since they're a premade' line. Really makes me wanna punch em in the mouth. If thats the way you feel, keep it to yourself and go hide ina corner cuz saying as much does nothing benificial for the team.
