im just curious
There's nothing wrong with that.
There's a LS on my sever that I'm actually a part of that is somewhat infamous for doing it, although I'm not sure if they are ACTUALLY doing it or are just so infamous that they get blamed no matter what at this point.
Although they're also responsible for basically 80% of the S-ranks spawning in our server too. ._.
As much as people always say that this is an mmo meant to be shared with others and that people should show more respect towards other players i find it comical how many come to these type of posts to defend those that ruin the expierence for others.
I just love how everything thinks ppl waiting on the hunt should psychically know there are more people coming.
Also, it's always interesting how ppl point out that ppl who actively hunt and spawn the S ranks ruin the game for those who want to participate but no one cares about the fun or time of the 20+ people who have to wait an extra 5 minutes so 1 person can finish what they are doing, change jobs, fix their gear, grab their choco, teleport, shout for a party, look on their map to locate the pos, then cross the entire map after those people spent the time spawning it in the first place. You're lucky the tell anyone at all.
I think you are misinterpreting who is the selfish party here
Alright guys we don't need to revive the zombie horse again and give it another beating. This thread has done enough of that.
should do some hunts nowadays. Even if you wait 10 minutes, there will be always that one person that didn't made it and then cries over zone chat, forum, reddit or even creates a party finder like this: "XXXX is a scammer, don't invite to your hunt LS." or "Report XXXX for pulling hunts early its against tos."
Not even kidding, this game became the playground of the entitled and 3 years old. Hence my recommendation, get there and pull it. Problem solved lol
If you're actively hunting, you'll likely arrive with time to spare. If not you're probably going really slow.
If you aren't actively hunting, and had to finish your craft or finish putting stuff on the Market Board, then no it wasn't really an early pull. You don't need eons to get there.
If you're a pick up and drop off Hunter, then don't be surprised when you don't make it.
Let's be honest: There's always going to be people late for the party. Just because someone pulls at the moment you find out about the hunt doesn't mean the hunt itself was found at that moment.
What if you got the call 1-5 mins late, but you think the call was well timed?
If you don't want to lose them, there's an easy solution, be the one who spawns them and stop leeching off the effort of others, many of the S ranks are a big pain to spawn and most people just wait until someone else does the job for them.
30 seconds to a minute wait for every single person that wants to show up after they hear about it 30 seconds to a minute after the last person adds up really fast. There is no such thing as an early pull. Blame Square-Enix for the way hunts are developed if you have a problem with it.
In Gilgamesh, if you are not teleporting 5secs after a hunt is called, it's over. No matter how many linkshells you have.
With the 5sec teleport + loading + travel you have no chance. Because they are pulled so fast.
I've found hunts with NO ONE there. Then the train pops up out of no where. Waits 30secs or less and kills it. Watched it with my own eyes
This is how it always begins.
Lets wait 1min. Lets wait 4mins. 5,6,10,15... then everyone is here still waiting.
When will people learn... you simply cannot wait for everyone and their nan to show up. Hunts weren't designed to wait for 10 decades whilst the guy tells his whole family to log in for the A Rank.
Waiting a min or two happens often. But it's borderline ridiculous when the guys who are actively hunting are told to stand there for 10 years.
Leviathan has or had such a group, they would even reset the enemy so their buddies can get credit.
Called them out on it a few times. I no longer do shoutouts for A or S Ranks, best to just use party finder, lol
I mean i find nothing wrong with "early pulling" but why shout out a hunt and then pull within 10 seconds of shouting it....
On JP servers people dowsn't wait long, but instead Tanks holds aggro, DPS just auto-attacks and healers spamms AoE healing, that way the hunt lasts long and everyone gets full reward (since it depends on the aggro you make instead of the damage done)
That's why I always go as WHM. Spamm Medica 1-2, Cure 3 and boom, full reward for all my party!
I always wonder: How can there be one FC (or group) always be faster, if there are thousand other players who either use guildworks themselves or get insta-reports by their linkshells from those who use it.
E.g. since patch day I think I missed less than 10 hunts while getting my, idk, >8000 seals. (Not counting: the ones after I stopped caring, hunts popping while being in a dungeon/afk/busy, hunts I don't go for [Alectryon, Melt, Marraco far away for example]).
Not using guildworks, only linkshells and teamspeak.
How could I reach all those hunts???
There's a FC and a very specific guy in my server who used to pull as soon as he got there every time (I don't know if he does it anymore as him and his FC are the reason I stopped hunting at least for now), it didn't matter if there were 3 people or 50, he would instapull. He belongs to an Italian FC and has his own linkshell but his members are spread across many others linkshells to make sure they can leech every call. Basically, if they are the ones spotting the hunt (and the person who spotted does not have GW) they won't tell anybody but between them, however, if there's a call from some other person, they won't hesitate to come and pull instantly.
"Early pulling"? Normally people who are finishing a craft/PS3 owners/react too slow to the call or the call is late, but the above scenario I described isn't any of these.
There was this one on Odin. Not often the same guy but early pull
Every
Single
Hunt
Cause it's not the people who are trying to share with others and who are waiting for them that face pull the hunt mark the minute they arrive. These early pullers are rarely involved in spawning the hunt and arrive there like many others by hearing a shout or relay in a hunt linkshell.
I think you missunderstood me. The person I replied to, I totally disagree with them :P.
Also on my server when I found hunts or my fc did, I always waited 1-2 mins then pulled. Was like 2 years when hunt was new and I logged on after 1 week and half, people shouted I ''ninja'' pulled 2 s ranks day before and I wasn't even home... I was on a vacation. Doesn't that tell people how salty the get over a person who doesn't want to wait for their family to show up? Seriously if you are late, you are. Especially leechers, just stands around and take while doing nothing, then cries when it's pulled. Meh.
If there are enough players to kill the mark, then there is no "early pulling." You just got there too late.
It's old content, why does it matter at this point? It could be worse, could have been like hnm back in the days of XI where if one person pulled it, the only players who could fight were that player's party/alliance, they'd have to decide who got a single drop, and if they killed it, you went back to waiting 48-72 hours for the next random spawn to fight over claim again.
Probably because it's the easiest way of upgrading current gear. It's not that it's old content, it's actually always been somewhat relevant.
Now of course that being said, if people really wanted to do this they'd be out there hunting down the mobs and triggering spawn conditions themselves. You miss something, you are more than likely just too slow. There's no such thing as an 'early pull'.
There is no such thing as an 'early pull'.
If a group of players believe that they can take the mark, then they are welcome to do so, that's how the content is designed. It's not designed for entitlement players who believe that if you don't wait for the entire server to show up, you committed some crime.
To answer the OP's questions without getting too involved in the debate in this thread:
In Carbuncle server, no, there are no LS or FC who partake in what you are talking about.
There are some hunt LS who go around spawning mobs and searching for them. However, these people always advertise the hunt in the Party Finder, shout it, and wait 2-3 minutes for people to show up.
They even have someone go to the nearest main city and shout it there too!
The only time I have ever witnessed "early pulling" is when there is 1 or 2 people who were NOT part of the original group AND do NOT want wait for anyone else to show up. (And I've only witnessed this twice) In other words, they pulled the mob before the time specified by the group who spawned it (both times S mobs)
The LS and people who do hunts on our server are well-known and well-respected members of the community for actively involving others in the hunts that they found / spawned.
I really love the folks in my server because everyone thinks and cares about everyone else.
this is how i do it
-Walk around Eorzea, i see an A rank.
-Nobodies around and dont feel like shouting in the linkshells and waiting for 1 hour.
-I summon my chocobo and kill the A rank with me as a WHM
thats what i have been doing rogue kills and i report them ofcourse on the hunt sites if i dont forget
All I know is I noticed several time that there are people who come-pull. I have been with an uncomplete spawning team and was one among the first to arrive. And while we planned to wait, someone come and pull. Just a leecher who have decided to pull, like that, just because he doesn't want to wait, just because he find fun to pourish other players game experience. These are are the ones who have been blacklisted and kicked from hunt LS.
PS : I don't consider early pull for A rank, they have pretty too low life. I consider only early pull for a S rank.
