Request: Sleipnir mount rework

Hi guys, who thinks we need a rework in Sleipnir mount?

Its fair for the price we paid that Sleipnir shoud be able to fly, and if possible, for a complete rework, they could add the missings legs.

What u guys think about a petition?

Give a good reason why it should fly other than "money" and "everything else flies".

To be fair the tank mounts will be flying soon and they were never suppose to fly but because people have to be vocal about everything they will be flying next. Having Sleipnir isn't really that far fetched with every other mount getting "wings"

I don't recall Sleipnir having multiple legs in any FF game but I could be remembering wrong. I know he does in classic myth, but if FF is going to base everything on classic myth appearance, then Shiva and Garuda need to be turned into men. lol

FF really just takes general lore and makes their own visual interpretations. In this case they made Sleipnir just a demonic horse.

Actually a while ago they said that all the primal ponies and Sleipnir would fly. Not really sure why they still can't while things like the turtle now do.

Should have bought the other mount, then.

Sleipnir had 6 legs in FF5, FF7, FF8, and FF9.

Also, the horse looks a bit malformed, like a squat pony. Needs to be a bit taller... or something. It really looks off.

Given that Sleipnir has flown (or glided?) in other Final Fantasy titles, it's not too silly to imagine it flying. A turtle, bear, lion, panther and hourhound, though... I still dislike the flying turtle and Fenrir just looks lazy.

You're right. Seems to be a fairly even split between 4 and 6 legs.

In Norse mythology, Sleipnir (or "Sleipner" which is his proper name) could fly, so I'd say it would make perfect sense to turn him in to a flying mount.

Coming from someone who is cool either way on whether Sleipnir flies or not (Cause Twintania = Best mount)...It's still Friggin Painful when people ask for a good reason why it should fly, and Often enough I pray that individuals like Miles, Morzy, or the individuals that gave them their "likes" just sincerely don't know about Sleipnir in this Franchise.

Mythology aside, It has been shown in the Franchise itself that Sleipnir can indeed Fly. He's not running on an invisible road, and there isn't strings in the sky holding them Up...Sleipnir caaaan fly, so having Sleipnir fly in content that allows flying actually makes things more accurate, Unlike a friggin Adamantoise flying which doesn't even make sense within it's own franchise. Have not been shown to fly at any point in the franchise, and if it did and Im just not aware of it, Im pretty damn sure it's not by rocket propulsion. The ONLY reason that thing flies because its a joke. Is that a freaking better reason as to a mount flying ?

You people want reasons as to why Sleipnir should fly ?
- It Cost actual money to obtain. I brought Sleipnir without the ability to Fly during content where flight was not possible, and thats completely Fine (for me personally). That crap won't look appealing in the least for those that come in where it flying is a necessity. At the very least, not having it fly is not good for the product itself. " Oh snap Sleipnir!! wait what it can't fly!? ". Yea they will probably have some people who still buy it because come on...it's Sleipnir, but it could be better.
You all already established that this isn't a good enough reason though so I'll take it another step further.

- It has been established in the Franchise that it flies. That's not Odin flying through the air carrying Sleipnir...

Rather have that Sleipnir remains as it is. Find it one of the best and fun to ride mount in the game.
As it looks, it seems that the upcoming Pegasus mount is based more on Sleipnir, than on the current horses, so maybe that mount is the answer of SE/Yoshi for a request of some for a flying Sleipnir mount.

It was added in as a Japanese pop culture reference to Gamera, a turtle similar to Godzilla. It would be like a US video game making a reference to Bugs Bunny. And yes, the turtle uses rocket propolsion to both fly like with jetpacks and to spin around like a flying saucer.

In the Norse myths, Sleipnir is able to fly through the air, and the gap where the world tree lies. Surprised they haven't already have this in yet.

The mount (The Flying Adamantoise) is the Joke! Im not joking or trying to make a joke T_T. There is no form of foundation for that mount to be flying outside of that Pop Cultural Ref, nothing within this game nor the previous games in the Franchise (Please show me othewise as I have no problem being wrong. I want to be corrected if there is evidence that exists saying or showing that Adamantoise are capable of flight in this manner, or even flight in general). This Topic isn't about the Turtle though, but is used as a reason (Things that makes no sense and no business flying within the FF Franchise) vs Something that actually have some form of foundation for being able to Fly, but does not *YET*

i think the topic content answered ur question, beside the whole topic content, for myself, in past odin was the badiest ass "boss" in this game, he could "wipe" a entire server with one single blow

his mount was meant to be the bad ass mount ever, but now is more like a useless pony :(

at least to me woulda be awesome see sleipnir riding in the sky, maybe some discret black flames on his rail, (am i dreaming so high?)

lastly, i think should be fair with ppl who spent and who will spend 24$ in a mount who from the beginning came missing parts :(

What's the point of offering a reason why it should fly if you're just gonna go "this is FF14." and be done with it. I don't really care either way, but c'mon.

I still use it as my only ground mount in 2.0 zones (the music & like for Nordic mythology) if they make it flight capible then "woot!" if not then I'll keep using my broom cause I hate haveing to zoom out just to see when flying anything else (broom is norm size, same as it, I only like to "have-to" zoom out for battle as that seams more a nessesity)

Posting to support the request for the Sleipnir mount to be able to fly. It's already been pointed out that in mythology Sleipnir is capable of flight, and it has been pointed out that Sleipnir is capable of flight in other FF games. While the cash shop will never get my 24 USD for the mount, I still feel that those who own the mount, and future purchasers of the mount, should be able to use Sleipnir as a flying mount in HW areas. It's a fair, nongamebreaking, request.

Sleipnir definitely needs rework, it's a fat horse and makes females sit in really uncomfortable ways, I'd rather have a thinner evil horse just like primal ones!...

Now if they decide to redo Sleipnir they can also work on Paladin's Warlion which suffers from the same awkward sitting positions!...

Final Fantasy VII I know for sure cause I'm replaying that game atm, FFVIII, FFIX , XII: RW and Type Zero iirc, I might be wrong...
Odin's horse has had 4 legs more times that multiple though.

the devs can put a second Sleipnir into the cash shop, that can fly.

I'm less worried about it flying than I am about the idle animation. That 3 second hoof stomp gets annoying fast. Click...click...click....click....click...click. What has been noticed can never be unnoticed.

Not every mount needs to fly -___- Regardless if we paid for it or not.

I was sceptical about the flying turtles, but it is lore in the game, I'm forever sky fishing for turtles in Azys la, so a flying turtle mount really isnt that far fetched in this game

When you bought that mount, you knew exactly what you were getting. But now you're begging for more than you paid for just because u paid for it and feel entitled because you threw SE some money?

I would prefer it be reworked to represent the Sleipnir from Mythology.It should have 8 legs instead of 4.It should be able to fly also as Odin used the mount to travel between sky and worlds.
I think considering the amount of cash people spent on it though it needs to be a flying mount.All the other shop mounts fly.We have the bennu(reskinned zu) and those reskinned magitech mounts.
It would probably be easy enough to give Sleipnir some kind of similar flying animation to fenrir mount
