I ran into too many trap parties all because I didn't know who was inside. I'm pretty sure some people here know someone they wouldn't want to farm with ever again on their server. Simply being able to only see the party leader isn't enough.

join > sees someone you dont like > leave
what's the problem here?
/Send tell to party leader: Excuse me, is X in your party? No? Good! /Joins
Honestly, does it matter? I've run with people that I did not exactly get along with for the sake of whatever group I was in. You don't have to talk to them; but better yet, you can talk and just overlook your differences. If you really feel that that isn't an option, then simply join the party and then leave if you see someone you don't particularly like.
This is really something that the individuals of the community should be able to address themselves. The devs should not have to spend time and development money on a problem that can be solved with a single button press on our part.
"Oops, sorry, clicked the wrong party. Good luck, guys!"
And then go do something else for a little while.
Wait, instead of bashing the OP, why can't this be implemented? What's the problem? It's not hurting or affecting anyone, and if they're going to leave the party anyway, how is it affecting the party by that person seeing their names?
I support, it would be a quality of life feature. I don't know why people are so against this.
Exactly. Maybe SE pays them? Or maybe it would really make their game unplayable?
"why not blabla?" - "why don't you bla?" - "bla bla?"
Why all this work-around when you could just look at the party set up? You guys really like to complicate things just for the sake of I dunno what...
But then nobody would join the parties I'm in...
Can you not mouse over the role icons to see the name? I could have sworn that was possible.
Its "random" duty finder. If you don't like it: Make your own party.
I hate duty finder, and curse whoever made it because it makes the game more antisocial because there are almost no consequences to your actions.
Reap what you sow; many asked for it; and you got what you wanted.
If you don't like the group? Leave and take the penalty.
This would be abused so much: I myself would just be like:
Group:
Paladin
Gunner
Gunner
Bad group, *leaves que*, *reques*
It can be implemented. But I think SE didn't think it was necessary at that time when they created this game. There must be a reason for that, because even after 5 - 6 yrs, we still don't have that system. They added new party finding/team making mechanic in patch 3.2 and we still don't have anything that show us players name, it's completely random. I'm sure they had a chance to talk about it. However.. I believe it's something about the privacy.
I was about to ask "isn't this what blacklisting is for?" but then after looking it up, it seems that blacklisting will only affect the party finder if the recruiter is the one blacklisted (greys out party), not if someone in the party is on your blacklist (maybe. I dunno).
And I think they'd be against the idea, because you joining, realising it's a trap party, then leaving, can then be used as justification for them to start badmouthing you across the server (actually happened to me, but for a different reason).
When ever I don't get along with someone, it motivates me to play my roll to perfection.
That way, if i don't mess up, i can call them out on it. Im very spiteful
I know, but you just have to know SE philosophy. It's not that I against it. I think it's a good idea. But why they haven't implemented it. When you join duty finder party, all the members are anonymous untill everyone get in. Same guess to everything, you can't even view that player unless you both are not in the same area. Then we have party finder. It's clear that SE trying to keep it private and so that everyone can join regardless of who they are or what they are. Again, I know what you are saying and I'm noy disagreeing here, but trust me on this. It's SE...
well, PF used to show full names of the host, now only the initial. i feel liek this is the opposite direction of what SE would want
