Hey guys,
Not sure if this has been discussed before. If it has, sorry for the spam!

I just don't think parley is the greatest mini game the ff series has seen.. by far..
To be honest they should take out Parley and make a minigame that's actually fun.
I am absolutely TERRIBLE at parley (I gave up trying to parley-win Toll of the Warden after an enormous amount of losses and just solo'd it) so I don't really care for it, personally.
I guess I'm in the minority of people who actually like it and think that it's fun!
...I do think that it could be /more fun/, though, or that they could implement a minigame that's more fun than Parley could be. I'd like to see it used more often, but not if it being used more often would cause people to get frustrated.
hell no...... throw it out
Parley has potential to be fun, but just like everything else in the game, it is horribly incomplete. If they made it less reliant on luck (hmm....that sounds familiar...), added some sort of progression system to it, and give us reasons for doing it (right now there are zero), the game could potentially be fun.
Oh, gee, instead of making something thats already there better people want it axed because "right now its not fun".
I'm glad none of you design games.
Parley is making it in for 2.0, and it's going to be great.
I have an idea on how they could fix Parley. Make it into tetramaster *vanishes*
That is just adorable, or outright delusional. Where was it said that parley is going to make the cut? Parley is a lingering vestige of a time when FFXIV considered combat and crafter/gatherer classes to be on equal footing, a concept that is itself going out the door. And given how much ass parley sucks, I hope the former takes the latter with it.
Hire Infinite Interactive to do the Parley.

Win.
Kill it with Fire/Ifrit >_<
The problem with Parley is that it has more in common with the card game 'War' than it does with something requiring strategy like 'poker.' Not only is it 100% up to chance, but the only skill is in picking the largest point value out of what you can see.
parley is cool as hell. I hate it when people get frustrated and say they dislike it just because they aren't good at it.
I’d like to see not only an expansion of Parley, but more and varied mini games throughout the game world; Tetra Master, anyone? How about some form of Three-card Monte, Dice, or shell game from back alley street venders?
This may not be for everyone, so these don’t have to be a required part of the quest line, but it’s the little things that make the whole of a game great.
Mini-Games, new Development Tag please.
The Parley system is incredibly boring even more so than crafting.
My thoughts exactly. Parley itself is not a bad idea, it's just incomplete. I wish you could go into a goblin polis and use Parley and trade different kinds of crafting materials, materia, consumables, and so on (not only with gobbies, but also with other beastmen).
Burn Parley, the house it lives in, and all of it's family.
That is all I have to say about this matter.
Parley is a lot tougher than it seems, and I think it would make an interesting thing to play against other players. It even has the opportunity to be played against more than one person depending on how you tweak the scoring. It has that mixture of luck/skill that makes it a game that you could replay infinitely - someone mentioned poker, which is effectively luck and bluffing, and it is hugely popular of course.
I can't tell you how many times I took the highest scoring thing I could, only to see the cards line up perfectly for the opposition. Oops. Once I started actually putting thought into it, it was a lot more enjoyable. If anyone played Vanguard, they had a similiar idea in the Diplomacy card game thing but used it for a lot more (still came down to luck of the draw mixed with strategy) and allowed you access to bits and pieces within the game you otherwise couldn't get.
Remember when they added the option to Parley certian NPCs to win stuff?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Gimme Triple Triad and rare card drops from mobs.
'Quite enjoy Parley, for my part, and I'd rather like to see it iterated on. Soo... yeah.
The one big gripe I have about parley itself is it takes forever for it adjust the cards. Such as if you score a combo, it will move one card at a time to the next empty space.
Not sure if other people noticed, but there are also abilities you can use in parley. Not sure what conditions are required to activate it though. You'll see it on the bottom of the parley window.
I once got the option to flip the fill direction. It didn't really help me in any way, though.
There is an element of skill to Parley because you have to watch how your pick lines up the remaining slots for the opponent's turn, however, a lot is still decided by hidden information and the current scoring system is designed for PVE and does not work for PVP.
Personally, I think Triple Triad is the best mini-game Square ever invented. Tetra Master was less good because the cards had a random element, so you could never know for certain how your play would affect the board.
Don't want. Tetra master please. The end.
make it non-madatory and i dont care. i hate it.
Parley is the lamest thing EVER!!!!!
I'm not even kidding.
Parley is super easy. It takes no skill at all. There's some degree of luck, but beyond that, there's no challenge. The only skill at all (beyond basic pattern recognition) is deciding whether to go for the highest-scoring option, or as others have mentioned, going for an option more likely to leave your opponent with no good options.
Parley isn't bad it just doesn't have enough to it. It could be developed further and bee more interesting, but it feels like one of those things they half finished and never came back to.
