They mentioned that it might be tied to crafting, so it might even be the new high end gear crafters will use? They always get recycled models. Whatever it is, knowing Yoshida it won't be as simple as "It's now dyeable!"
I doubt it, I think it will be like the old Darklight gear. The primal weapons were upgraded for their special glows, but simply allowing gear to be dyed will probably simply be added to the existing gear. Darklight in 1.0 was not dyable, but after a few patches they allowed it and the existing gear gained a dye option, I'm confident that this will be the case for allagan gear as well.
Hopefully. Got the heal chest, bard chest and tank chest saved up and a few other bits and pieces.
What I'd like most is the heal chest in green like in syrcus tower those two NPCs.
They originally said they were going to be crafted recipes, so don't hold your breath. They've changed their minds before on stuff, of course, but I'd say it's more likely. If they're aiming to reinvigorate interest in Coil, using the old desynthesis mats as parts of high level recipes from Binding/Second Coil will do more to accomplish that than simply making the gear dyable will.
Well I don't mind if its tied to crafting but they better not require specialist crap or [ Insert That 5% Drop Onry That Will Cost Gazillions ] Material into the recipe for something that's for glamour only -___-
If it has some use like they did back then for the ilvl90/ilvl110 crafted gears, that's fine.
But in HW the crafted gear they came up with are either require expensive materials, difficult to make (2star for an ilvl180) or locked behind specialist. Here I'm hoping they don't have ridiculous requirements again if it's only going to end up as a glamour item, kinda make endgame crafting and getting the ilvl170 set serving no purpose anymore.
You must not be aware of how powerful crafted gear was in ARR. During FCOB, several of the i110 pieces rivaled i130 gear for BiS status. Since they're adding materia slots to raid and tomestone gear, it's fairly likely that they're going to position crafted sets as another path for acquiring the most powerful gear more intentionally this time, since it's going to be more powerful than the FCOB gear was.
I'll believe it when I see it.
Why not including the Dreadwyrm too? I want dye my Dreadwyrm Tonban of Healing :/
The part you quoted was sorta of a mini rant that I shouldn't say actually xD and yeah I do remember they mention somewhere about crafting gear better but anyway I think I rather they use a different new design for the new crafts and keep the allagan models somewhere more accessible to those who just want it for the looks.
I hope the brown part of the allagan healing set is dyable, and separate from the white part. I really hate the brown. I'd really like to dye it so it's on the same color palate as the ironworks healing set.
Honesty this is the last thing we need. I imagine they might make use of the npc that already sells the augments for relic gear and all you need to do is turn in left side pieces along with "augment items" similar to what we have done in the past. I prefer if SE doesn't pull a punk move and make all those farm runs that many of us did during ARR and HW a wasted effort then again they do have a track record of making most things needlessly complicated and sometimes redundant. My only hope is that they don't gate it behind specialists and put it all on one specific class similar to what they did with the augments and alchemists but I fear that is more than likely whats going to happen.
Transfer to my server so we can farm together! Everyone on famfrit only runs final coil which the gear is all so ugly.
It'll definitely be new crafts
It's gonna be specialist crafts that require some kind of desynth item as well as mats from at least 4 different other specialists. Gotta keep pushing those garbage systems.
Probably, can't just be something logical and not full of hoops and complications and so on.
Should either be added to the current gear retroactively, or at the most be another Augment item copy exactly... that is, add it to the Master Book (the blue scrip MB that is) and be a recipe using current materials and needing the base item -- Augmented Heavy High Allagan Coat = High Allagan Augment + Heavy High Allagan Coat -- None of this specialist garbage, or sixty tiers of token exchanging, or some Diadem 1% drop.
I hope so, I cannot wait till BC I, II, and IIIs become relevant again. I, despite the great lengths the Dev team put into making crafting the revolutionary metagame it is, abhor actually crafting. My bread and butter was grinding out my desynth skills and breaking dungeon gear down to reap the hq mats and demis.
It would be nice if they'd just change the existing items to be dyable, like they did with the Darklight gear and some of the old event items (Valentione's, Lightning/Snow sets), and SHOULD do with all the old dungeon and raid drops.
If they ARE going to make the dyable versions a new, crafted item, though, I'd want them to be level 1 all-classes glamour, though.
Indeed, hence why my first line was "retroactively make them dyable", but because we all know the dev's can't be sensible and leave it at that, I said "at most, augments" and the key part is "at most".
To clarify, in case you, or others are thinking I want to waste time and gil on Augments (I don't), even if a simple recipe.
Wishful thinking -- Let us dye the actual item. Realistic based on current examples thinking -- Augment with no BS specialist or obnoxious farming routine material recipe, just like the AF ones.
