Anima Quest Bug - 'Soul Without Life' quest given twice. Unable to complete

Steps:
1. Undertook 'Soul without Life' quest by handing in Zeta weapon to obtain crystals
2. Completed 'Soul without Life" Anima quest and received Animated Lunaris Rod
3. Upon receiving Animated Lunaris Rod cutscene finished
4. Ardashir had 2 new quests 'Toughening Up' and 'Soul without Life'
5. Accepted both quests and realised that 'Soul without Life' is the same quest I had just completed. )
6. As per quest I was sent to Rowena who then sent me to Syndony.
7. Syndony gave her speech about the crystals and the in game details about handing in a Zeta and FATES occurred
8. 'Soul without Life' quest icon shows as completed (green tick)
9. I then went back to Azy's Lla and spoke with Ardashir as per the quest
10. Ardashir has a completed quest icon above their head, when I click them they state "Welcome back, V'iuji. Were you able to acquire what we need?
11. I oress X on controller and text dissapears. Nothing else happens

Note: I have confirmed that 'Soul without Life' appears as completed in my Journal and I also have the Animated Lunaris Rod in my armory

Did you complete the dungeons on toughening up? I have both quests on as well and Toughening up continues according to the animated weapon you have equipped. Be sure to equip animated weapon when completing the dungeon it directs you to. If you activated Soul without Life again, it can be used for another animated weapon.

I am also on Tonberry and this happened to me as well.

I had Ninja toughening up in progress and handed in nodules to start paladin relic.

only the quest looped and now he wants nodules for paladin again. lost zeta, lost nodules ;u;

Tried abandoning ninja toughening up thinking it would open paladin toughening up option. nope.

2 zetas and 4 nodules gone. rip relic.

Not sure if this is a lead on to teh above problems?

I am on Phoenix server I don't have a zeta so need to get all crystals.

I have accepted quest from Rowena, and talked to Syndony who gave the speach about finding the crystals. As soon as I had read all the speach and all text finished it showed the quest as complete with the npc listed above, I warped to Az and spoke to the quest finisher and of course I havn't got all crystals but the icon is showing as a completed quest to hand in to. However I have only so far collected one crystal from Azy's Lla fates so of course the quest is not finished but image wise the quest text is showing the green cloud wth tick in it as if it was completed when it shouldn't show this till i have collected the required crystals.

You need to talk to the NPC on the terrace one more time and a menu will appear where you give her your zeta weapon to then continue to Azys Lla to finish the quest. It took me a bit of time to figure this part out.

I haven't completed the dungeons yet, however BLM is my only DOW/DOM that is at 60. Looking at the 'second' Soul without Life quest, it is offering the same Animated Lunaris Rod that I already have equipped...? I want to drop the qust as I think you are right and it can be used for other jobs, however I am scared to do so at the moment.

Is anyone able to confirm if the base given for other jobs is the Animated Lunaris Rod or is just BLM specific?

Yep, already done that once, handed in the Zeta, got the crystal things and then went back to Azys Lla and completed the quest. Now I have it again though.

It IS the same quest. It's a repeatable quest where the reward is dependent on what job you do it with. So you do the exact same quest to get anima weapons for your other jobs, or another copy of the one you already have (though you can't complete the quest for the same weapon until you have done the next quest with your current one)

It is job specific to some degree. As per the messages you get when you are logging them. Something about changing jobs will prevent progression on them. You are on the track to get another Animated Lunaris Rod specifically for BLM, so until that is cleared/cancelled somehow it will be hanging out there on your list to complete for that rod (can't turn in that quest on BRD to get the bow--you have to log it specifically for the bow to get the bow).

Ok, so I've now completed the dungeons and have the ilvl200 BLM weapon. The Soul without LIfe quest still won't allow me to turn in, which does make sense as I have already done it. I will try cancelling the quest now that I have progressed as I am shouldn't lose anything.

I guess the issue here is that I was able to accept a quest for a BLM Anima that I had already completed. I would expect a message similiar to 'You have already accepted/completed this quest for this Anima weapon'

I was also affected by this issue.

I turned in my Black Mage Zeta and Paladin Zeta. I received 2 sets of nodules. I used one set on Black mage and verified I still had the 2nd set on me. I did some dungeons and then logged off after getting the paladin i170 set. After I logged back in, the nodules were gone from my inventory.

So out Zeta and out nodules to bypass the stage to i200

The reason you couldn't complete the quest a second time, is most likely because you didn't get the nodules the second time. You still need to get a new set of nodules for every time you do the quest. You can't turn in items you don't have after all.

sorry to use this thread =/ anyone got any idea how to progress toughening up quest?

i have done everything equip the main weapon while queing up for DF/ tried solo cleared snowcloak yet quest log refused to progress next dungeon.

ive done this more than 10 times now its clearly a bug...no response from GM so idk what to do.

I can imagine two different things that may be happening:
1: You may be using the antiquated weapon instead of the animated one.
2: You didn't notice that it's telling you to do a different dungeon now.

If it's neither of those, I apologize. No offence intended.

Are you still able to collect crystals with the green check mark? Asking because my blm friend hasnt been able to get a drop in the Churning mist for about 2 days of playing ( about 2-3 hour sessions each day). Could just be bad luck.

You can, my quest has been set to "green" even before I handed the crystals back. I still got the crystals fairly easily (matter of hours)

And don't forget, you don't hand the crystals directly to Ardashir in Azys La, but to the NPC in Mor Dhona, whom will give you the nodules, which you then hand over to Ardashir.

This part is a bit deceiving tbh.

Don't recall it actually "doing" anything. May have been a brief message on screen at the end, but that was it. The note in your Journal and the on-screen list will change to tell you to run the next dungeon though. Double check the text there to see if it is telling you to run the next dungeon. After like the 3rd or 4th one, you get short script with Ardashir outside the dungeon. Shows up again later on the 6th or 7th one too.

I started the quest with my war yesterday. I already have Coming into its own on whm started but figured I could use a 200 weapon for war. Anyway I trade my zeta in then head to Alyz Alla and get the next quest. They give me the quest to do the dungeons but not the weapon to do them with. SO know I have Toughening Up for Warrior, but no animated Parashu to do it with.
I'm not seeing this as a known bug anywhere and I'd like my zeta back to start over it its a real bug. I put a bug report in yesterday but haven't talked to a gm or anyone since.

Thanks for the follow up. It was definitely a case of bad luck. Working on the 170 weapon now with my blm friend.
