Will Lightning Strike Thrice?

With the upcomming release of Lightning Returns on PC are we liekly to see a return of the Lightning Strikes event this December?

It's already struck thrice I believe, maybe a fourth time. I believe that would be the most likely time for it to come back, but then again they could sell it on the Mog Station when that releases. SE has gotten greedier over the past few months with the Optional Items store.

I don't care if she strikes again, i just want a way to get her stuff.

It is rather unfortunate for those who have not got Lightning items but like others have said it has come back multiple times already even though it started off as a limited event.
Who knows it may very well come back

I'm guilty of buying the Minfilia outfit just for the hair, so...yeah. I'd probably do it with Lightning as well.

And I don't even like the characters. I just dislike almost all the current fem-Miqo hair options.

I want to say yes just to stop it but then a month later new people will join, then get upset that they missed the event and want it the hair as well. Honestly, I really want to say let them be marked as rewards for being such long time players of the game cus if we don't let EVERY thing be accessible, then people who join tomorrow are going to complain about yesterday.

SE just needs to do this and be done with it, so these threads stop being created. Beccause I assume most people could care less about the event and just want the items.

Yeah, because if it comes back itll be the end of the world for those who have the hair. Theyll start boohooing about how it wont be "SPESHUL" anymore while almost every femqote on my server has the hair.

I'm guessing yes because if you didnt youd want it to come back. The majority of the people who dont want it back have it so they dont care about anyone else but themselves.

I lean more to the side of some things should be exclusive and the event happening three times is plenty, but I wouldn't care if it was available through some other method (even the Store, despite my dislike of that route). Snow's stuff is pretty nifty, but I can live without it and it's doubtful I would pay real money for it, same with the FATE; I would do it if it were available, but my level of care is pretty low (more to do with me not liking FF XIII or its characters).

I think most reasonable people would say "Oh there was an event before I joined? Shame I missed it, maybe with luck it will come back instead of crying about it"

I'd rather them add the outfits and hair to the cash shop/another in-game method and spend more time designing unique outfits as well as new events and event items. This is coming from someone who doesn't even have the full set - I was still rather new at the time and ended up with everything but the top. However, I'm the type of person who likes my character to stand out and be unique in her own right, rather than a clone of a previous character or NPC, so I wouldn't have used the top anyway. However I do understand the desire for them and they should be made available - but I'd rather see new content instead of bringing the same fates back for a fourth time.

Least Bards get a similar coat, plus the new sky pirate gear for them looks like Lightning's top.

Why not give us a whole new Lightning event instead of just using the same one again ... New event, same rewards, maybe something new.

But.. since SE has started a tradition of putting past event items in the Mog Station, I think its more likely that the outfit + hairstyle will be sold via the Mog Station. I dont know if the weapon will be sold aswell, but if they do.. then this might be the start of special weapon skins via Mog Station only. Your question will be answered the end of November, since FFXIII:LR will be released early Decemeber, so if there is no event or news of the items being sold via Mog Station, then its likely they wont be released.

Either way, it will be obtainable for you, but I hope via ingame and not Mog Station.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the shop as long it is reasonable in pricing. At least then I can have it on all my characters on various servers instead of having to juggle around each one of them during the event.

Gods, I hope not. I liked Iromi more, and I've never played FF11 and had zero clue who she was.

I played about 30 minutes of FF13, it didn't hook me, and the characters -- mainly Lightning -- made me say, "Um, I don't think I want to play this."

Iromi > Lightning

Shantotto > Lightning

Cloud > Lightning

Squall > Lightning

Terra > Lightning

Kuja > Lightning

Keffka > Lightning

Because the less development time spent on that horrid character the better, if they were going to spend dev time on a new crossover there are plenty of far better options... even if it just rewarded something like a hat.

New players arrive on the daily, even if the event lasted an entire year you can bet that only a week later there'd be someone saying they missed it. Obviously the solution would be to place it either in the Gold Saucer for a hefty amount of MGP, or on the Mogstation.

But Japan loves limited edition things. I'm pretty sure there'd be even MORE of them in this game if it weren't for the large western population it's pulled in.
(In fact I'm about 99% sure my favourite soda ever, 桃ファンタ, was a limited time special seasonal flavor and I only got lucky enough to try it when over there due to the stars aligning. I've been asking my friend for YEARS to send me more but he only just found one bottle this last fall.)

There's very much a "if you weren't here for it then too bad" vibe.

I agree. We will forever see people complain they missed it even if the event comes back. Would solve the problem if they make it available to all via MGP or Cash shop. Granted we'll then have the complaints that others got it for free, but hey ho, don't want don't buy.

Taking the ending of XIII-3 into consideration, I don't really think that that would even be an option.

SE, please, for the love of the Twelve, just put the Lightning/Snow/Dragon Quest/FFXI/Moogle Outfit/otherwise unattainable items into the Cash Shop already and be done with it. It's not like there isn't precedence *cough*Moonlet*cough*...

Probably true. Western audiences tend to loathe limited exclusives with a passion. Personally, I've never seen the benefit of it myself. Toss the items on the Cash Shop and it's still bonus for those who got them free.
