Duty Finder can't find me a battle? 1 hour wait and beyond.....................

Now I understand Final Coil is not new content but c'mon now. I have waited for week, separate days, for at least an hour, not one other person joins DF. Now either I'm the only one interested to try or everyone is done and completed Final Coil. If they use statics perhaps they don't need Duty Finder, but what has occurred where this has become of no interest to anyone? What about trying to clear, just to clear and not care about gear? I guess I shouldn't have taken a 2 month break? :mad: :confused::(

Any coil I've queued for single... besides T4, is hours wait to be honest.

You definitely want to PF a group together.

You need to use the Party Finder. DF just wont work

I fail to not realize why? Duty Finder is the sole reason I play at all. Quick and easy to just try battles, who wants that complicated?

Party Finder won't really work either, Unless you know 7 people willing to join, You'll just sit there for hours, especially if you're on a low poppulated server, maybe getting 1-2 people and then they will leave if the wait is to long, Old content mostly has no incentive to do it.

Why would someone duty finder for content that drops the equivalent of lvl55 gear?

Also considering that most DFs group would die to Final coil due to the multiple 1 shot mechanics.

I agree with other use pf, or wait for hours in df for people to leave after the 2nd wipe.

I guess I see playing this game different then it is. Why is it based on gear and progression forward instead of challenging battles to conquer?

There are other challenging fights at lvl 60, why not do those?

People were pretty into fcob when it was relevant. The players who were interested have beaten it many many many times by now. There's no challenge to it anymore.

By the time I get to there (level 60, Endgame content) new content is out, and everyone says the same thing, "We all did that stuff months ago" ??????? beyond me

Beside thte fact that the gear ist outdated... Coil isnt something you wanna do using the DF - I did that back when it was new in DF (at anytime I was bored, after having cleared the turns with my static) and it was horrible. You dont only challenge the boss, most of the time you also challenge 7 adds (called your comrads-in-arms by the game to distracted you). Thats part of the reason everyone is doing it snyched now - some of those battles are, indeed, a challenge. But not a challenge for the DF where you might run into people who hasnt ever seen the fight before and who need to LEARN - 90 minutes (or let it be 120...) isnt enough for that most of the time. Except for the first 4 turns I'd say: Coil just isnt DF-content. And it was never meant to be after all - the only reason you can tackle these fights in DF now is that they've been nerfed down so much... I'm sorry but you're a bit late to the party here... and no, its not about the two months-break, if thats any comfort to you: You wouldnt have cleared Final Coil 6 months back with DF and your about 1 and a half year late for First&Second Coil ;)

The only advice I can give you: Try to find like minded people, build a network, create a linkshell... if you wanna do this content as it was supposed to be done: Find 7 other players to learn and progress with you...

Because the serious people about this stuff HAVE done it months ago. I've run Ravana EX IDK how many times the past 4 months. Beaten A1S 15 times (15 weeks of clears), A2S 13 times and finally am progressing on A4S after three A3S clears.

Coil was farmed to death in their relevant 2.x patches. Most of the fights you can 4-man without much difficulty, and 8-man unsynced isnt a challenge at all.

I never done coil thought it was a waste of time, which I was right in the end, the thing has story yes but gear is crap and I didn't have to deal with the drama of people fighting.

I would of liked to do it, though I read on forums about people fighting and blaming and going at each others necks even leaving the run so nobody could finish it.

There's still plenty of time before the next savage comes out.

Even if you for some reason really can't get to 60 by then: skip some stuff. This is a vertical mmo. When the next raid comes out everything from the previous one will be invalidated and the new entry gear will be handed to you on a platter. It's practically impossible to fall behind in this game.

Thats because most of the people learning it now expect to be carried, either by their gear, other people, or both. They don't want to really learn, just get the win to say they did it, but are too cheap to just buy a clear.

Yeah I wanted to try Coil 1 and Shiva EX but the queue times were 100+ minutes before I gave up.

Can't clear Shiva and continue my quest. :( In PF people are farming Shiva, not newbie friendly to help get a clear.

Oh I do play the content though you're right, Forums are a big reason I didn't play coil, too many people complained back then, that's when I made a choice to not even bother with it.

I am pretty sure others did the same as me, just skipped it and some people tried probably until iron works gear came out and just decided not to even bother.

I am pretty sure the story was good but coils story should of never been a side thing where people would of just skipped it, I think people would of then had to go through it to get it done.

Now its just a piece of content that's worthless, back then maybe not but now cmon.

i can see where this guys is coming from. In ff11 i did dynamis and sky simply to have content to do. I wasn't doing it for the shinies. And since WoW ppl ONLY do content for the shinies, not everyone starts at launch. I had personal issues preventing me from playing coil when it was relivent, and and those same issues are now why i have a new psn ID and had to start over.

First of all run buying and selling in my personal opinion stupid, cheapens the game and the community.

And second, content becoming irrelivent, outdated, <insert comment> is a player created concept. Just because you don't need anything from it, doesn't mean other don't. Just because you "farmed it to death" new players haven't touched it.

content relevency is subjective to the players, if your new the content is new to you, its irritating as a gamer to read comments like that, they come off as smug, like everyone playing has played since launch. That is and never the case fir any mmo.

It isn't a matter of being cheap, you shouldn't need to pay for any clears, that is for lazy people who truly do not want to learn anything, I even mentioned this in another topic Jps do not ever charge people to clear content, they teach and help them. This is an NA Scam that continues to work.

But things like Coil and Tower runs are all optinal content for extra story, Because they have no other use for the main game people don't bother and skip over them. and are far less likely to want to do them, even if they haven't finished.

Oh, Ill do content just for the heck of it at times. Dont need anything from Alex EZ Mode, yet ran it a lot yesterday because I was part bored, part extremely ticked at the idiocy of my GC in PvP. If I get asked to do something, and am not already busy, chances are I'll help out.

But, expect me to carry you, and you;ll just get dumped and blacklisted. Dont have time for those kind of people

The thing is...at least 75% of buyers arent willing to learn. Dont even try to join learning parties, look up anything...nothing. They literally just want to sit and get carried to either get the gear at the end or just to say they did it. Ive seen so many buyers then brag about how they earned their clears and the work they put into the fight...sad

Yes, and this is why NA/EU data centers have a very high failure rate for most endgame content, People walk in, "hi, i'm new, what do i need to watch out for?" No respect to research and learn the fight first, just "please carry me, i'm lazy" and what do lazy people love to do? Buy their way out if being carried fails.

This is also why the "join only if you cleared" parties also fails, because they get people that didn't actually learn the fight, just lie dead on the group while the rest of the group carried them to victory. But at least they got the clear.

Even if these people were on servers with tons of learning parties...theyd still want only to get carried and buy clears. Maybe theyd join a learning party or two...but still would go in expecting to be carried.

And from what i see, most of those parties fail because people dont want to adapt to different strategies, rather than being unskilled.

I agree, most difficult content probably isn't great for Duty Finder, being the experience difference in the fight. Probably there is time to catch up to the newest content, but newer content will probably take over. I guess skipping things, so one can play at all would be the best move.

But Shiva unsynced is easy enough that you can't really kill the party, unless you're MT. Might be able to pull people into a PF for a chance at a pony.

For coil.. Yeah, due to timezones issues, I never got to try when it was relevant. Looks like I can probably get the story through unsynced runs with my new FC, though. Trying to recruit for a coil LS may be the way to go.

If you were on Odin I'd see you into a LS especially for "old content". It most likely wouldn't be synced but I'm sure we could pull something out of the hat!

When people talk about the content being irrelevant, they specifically mean that it's no longer relevant to progression. This is a vertical progression MMO, so old raids and trials and the like are really only good for glamour gear and other drops (ponies, etc) or lore. The gear that drops in FCoB is roughly the equivalent of the gear that drops in the Aery. Nobody's trying to be smug. It's just that the content is no longer required to progress in the game. It's effectively gone from progression content to being side content.

You're telling me that nobody has ever once sold content on any JP server? I find that incredibly hard to believe. (inb4 'sure but it must have been an American playing on that JP server' or some other such garbage) As to the claim that it's a scam, I offer this - my static used to sell runs on Fridays and do learning parties on Saturdays. We were always so busy both days that we ended up having to turn people away. Even knowing that we would be putting up a PF to teach any fight in the game outside of SCoB Savage on Saturday some would buy on Friday, and not just farm runs; there were tons of clears too. Even when the chance is there to learn, there are those that just don't want to. They want the shiny without putting in the work, so they offer gil. There's no scam. A scam involves deception, and good run sellers thrive on trust - repeat customers are actually pretty frequent. Hiring someone to clear content for you is no different than going to a restaurant for dinner. It's a service. If people weren't willing to pay for it, it wouldn't be a thing.

I've actually run many people that are newer to the game through all of the Coils for story. We're actually planning to do a full run of all of the 24 man raids at some point as well because I know those are very difficult for people to get into via DF.

@OP - Even when FCoB was relevant to progression, DF was an awful place to actually complete it. Since we were given the option to run them unsynced, people just jump into Party Finder groups of 5-8 people and absolutely wreck them for the glamour items.
