So maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any mention of the new relics being added in the 3.1 update on November 10th through the official trailer that was released. Does this mean that they will be added in 3.15 instead? Thanks in advance!
-Cheers!

yeah new relics are going to be added later in 3.15

Zodiac weapon-related adjustments
Adjustments will be made so that soul resonances and soul attunement can be earned even when clearing content with an undersized party.
Additionally, the next Zodiac weapons will be known as “Anima weapons,” and they will be introduced in Patch 3.15.
If you've already completed a Zeta weapon, you’ll be able to get an advantage towards an Anima weapon of your choice. If you’ve completed two Zeta weapons, you’ll be able to get an advantage towards two Anima weapons.
I still have to complete my Curtana with materia..
I was about to put just anything I have in order to get to the light steps..
But idk if we get a new PLD weapon (or any new weapon) besides the one we have..
if yes, then I could just meld any materia to it, not caring about it..
if not.. then I'll have to follow the process more carefully..
Yep, have to wait until December I'm betting on the 3.15 patch. Maybe even next year O.O
Ho! So you can only use that benefit on any weapon of choice but only ONCE! Thx for that clarification I was about to go wild and get every relic for every class I have
So are they doing this and pushing it back, just to make the weapons from KOTR relevant for a month? Lol.
Does the materia in the relic even matter anymore? Since the old relics aren't required for the new ones I'd imagine that the materia is obsolete now and we'd likely get a chance to redo the stats on them when 3.15 hits. I want my nirvana but I don't want to waste money on materia and don't want to waste time spirit bonding if its likely a waste of effort with the new weapons coming.
Simple. If you went through the pain of making 1 complete Relic AKA Zeta
(Base Relic -> Zenith -> Atma -> Animus -> Novus -> Nexus -> Zodiac -> Zeta)
Then you are eligible to skip the first step of one 3.15 Relic of your own choosing, among any jobs you have unlocked.
If you've done that twice (WHM and PLD weapons for example) then, you can choose to skip the first step of MCH and DRG if you'd like.
There you have it. If you are still unsure, make all Zetas from all of your jobs, and then you'll be fine 3:)
Can't wait to see the looks of them! ^^
i200 weapons wouldn't help people clear A3S or A4S more than the i200 eso people already have, so not i200. At least i205.Quote:
Basically. Though I have a feeling the KOTR weapons will be ilvl 200 and the new relic will be ilvl 210.
I heard from the last Duty Commenced that the first step will be something, like, 10 hours worth of work. So I got my zeta before 3.1. Because even if it's not hard, I'd rather not have to wait THAT long for my Anima. XD
The temptation to just grind out the rest of my MNK's weapon is there, but I know in the end it's not worth it ^^;;
Still leveling three classes and playing super casually while waiting for 3.1.
The anima weapon will almost definitely be a grind. It's not something you will have complete on release day for most people. Expect it to take a couple weeks at least for the average player if not more.
I'm almost positive the KOTR weapons will be 205. Making them any less would essentially be pointless.
Aren't they pointless, period? 1 month or less will not make them relevant in the long run, right? It's not like this is a content gap of 3 months or more... I just think it's silly if the only reason they implemented these was to push a small % of players through the last stages of Savage. Unless the difficulty for Thordan is nowhere near what's been said, I don't see a reason for that. Might as well wait another month for a 210 and push it then.
I guess everyone has their own idea on what pointless is or would be in this game. Myself, I don't see a reason to implement an entire weapon set for less than 5% of the player-base, only to completely make it useless in a month with something else that's going to likely beat it out in stats and ilvl that EVERYONE can do, and use. Seems like a huge waste of time on their behalf in terms of development time. If anyone and everyone can run Thordan HM after a week or so of learning and just faceroll it, that just drives my point home further.
Only 5% of the playerbase CAN do A1S (not *have done* but *can do*)? Getting a static is the hard part, but Thordan isn't likely to demand 2 hours a night 3 days a week for a couple weeks to clear for i195-i200 people.Quote:

I never set foot in Savage, I got i196 on Summoner. Will have i198 by the patch. If I can get 8 people in my FC to go, we can clear it.
I consider the Thordan weapon will be good for my non-Summoner jobs, like Scholar, and as glamour for Summoner. I don't care if its worth it only very shortly.
Edit: swapped my week and day
It was a gross exaggeration on my part, but I understand what you mean. I also agree that the static is the tricky part. I wish I could get in there and have a go at it, but unfortunately my schedule doesn't allow it.
199 was easy to obtain for myself. Unfortunately gearing in this game is really nothing but THAT. Easy. I don't consider loot being locked behind weekly timers or RNG, hard to obtain. That isn't to say the content included isn't difficult.
Here's hoping the fight is at least fun, and the weapons are worthy of glamoring.
I wish the WHM relic is beautiful. Thyrus was awesome, but I didn't like Nirvama for one thing: too much minimal details. In a game with poor antialiasing, Nirvana looks like a tangly bunch of pixels with glowing wings.
Yoshi noted that Thordan extreme is rated at a difficulty around AS1 and AS2, he added that the weapon rewards will also help players currently attempting AS3 and AS4.
Presently players are having difficulty clearing AS1-AS3 with i200 esoteric weapons, with this evidence i am speculating that the weapon drops from Thordan extreme will be i210. In the past, relic weapons have either matched or were one level below the foremost raid content, i assume the new relic weapons will start at i200 or match i210.
The reason behind the itemization, players that wish to avoid any potential grind design the relic questline is known for, can do so by committing to Thordan extreme, and vice versa.
People who can't clear with between i200 and i205 average are not just having dps issues. Some people die and everyone wipes. Pretty sure.Quote:
Aren't people having issues with savage because of the dps checks and NOT mechanics?
from an unofficial translation...
"New Relic is 3.15: Titled Anima Weapons
-First step will not be difficult
-Yoshi-P himself recommends not to go back and get Zeta and to instead just do the Anima Weapons themselves
-Zeta will have an advantage on the first step
-Advantages for Zeta will not be job-specific to what you completed the zeta on. If you have a BLM Zeta you may still gain an advantage on doing the Dark Knight weapon for example."

And even if the first step is not 'that' easy, I will not go back to Zeta. I'd rather save my Gil since I'm not rich and feel like spending what I have on just a weapon glamour.
Remember you need to have it equipped before the dungeon, trial, raid, etc ends. Whatever you toss on it can all be nothing higher than grade 1 or 2 materia as long as its still functional for light farming. Also it looks like they are making light farming easier by letting us spam the heck out of the easiest dungeons while undersized. If I'm right Zeta refers to either Excalibur 125 or 135. You might as well light farm while undersized while doing the KI farming in the dungeons if you already finished your first relic. Then start saving up gil for those craft mats and items to reach Zeta rank.
I've been done with Pld Zeta for a while and four mahatma left for my axe. I'm stopped at on light farming for Dragoon to do tanks first. but farming gil for the craft items is the most time consuming part. By the way it was written you'll get a pass for each Zeta weapon in one stage for the new Anima weapon (possibly the starting stage). Considering Dark, Mach, and Astro don't have Zeta. I'm guessing if the relics are not job locked you can use one toward either of those three's Anima weapons. However in the long run it might be better or faster to start anima from scratch than spend all that time farming a Zeta from scratch. Unless you're already at Light I or near Light II's stage on a second weapon etc, or you really want to get those achievements.

I am curious if Anima refers to the Anima from 1.0 or if it just literally means "soul weapon" and no reference to anything else, including Bleach.
