Admittedly I'm not one of those people that use party finder often. Except for when one of my fc mates needs help with something, I really don't use it, but asking around it seems like 9/10 farm parties fail even when no one is new to the content. Has anyone else noticed this?

Usually a 50/50 for Balmung parties. If I host'em...I put "Call loot after first clear" so we don't waste time talking about drops just to wipe several times before splitting. <_<

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I leave after three attempts if the group can't clear it in one shot. I'd say about two-thirds of the parties I've joined were actual farms and we were there for an hour or more.

Back in ARR, most farm parties I joined were actually good enough to farm for quite a while until people started getting tired or lost concentration and we started wiping enough to disband.
No idea about HW content though, I stopped using the PF since the expansion came out. -

The funny thing is, I've seen way more successful farms that grew out of a clear party then I have ever seen a successful farm party.

I can't speak for everyone, but I haven't seen a learning party not one or two shot the whole thing for a couple months now.

I've joined two Bismarck clear parties the past week. In one of them I was top dps (DRG) but the tanks were #2 and #4. In the other, I was #2 on WAR. The other dps are decently geared but not pushing good numbers. One of them was full eso and was the lowest dps. -_-

While this isn't the first time this particular topic has come up, people seeking to be carried often think farm parties consist of people overgeared 'to there and back again' for what's being farmed. Whether true or not is irrelevant to them, who farms content 'at iL'? I try not to join farm parties as most of the time what's being farmed isn't something I want to farm. I do wish learning parties weren't so bloody rare, though, as there's still content I need to beat.

My farm parties have a pretty good track record cause I don't typically farm unless at least 2-3 friends want to go with me.
Otherwise, I'd just rather find something else to do than deal with 7 pugs.
I have seen some pretty fail Bismarck EX clear attempts, though. -

But I also think that seeing "farm party" automatically makes people more relaxed...it's similar to having done and perfected a task and then goofing up simply because you've become too comfortable with doing it effortlessly. I joined an Alexander farm party and we wiped...three times, I believe it was? And that was only on A1. After that, though, everything was seamless.Quote:

So shockingly we actually cleared the duty and then the leader decided to leave. Turns out he needed the clear, and even though we got it swimmingly, he didn't want to stay to do more runs. His excuse was he accidentally typed farm in the PF when he meant kill group. This annoyed me more than the constant failing groups on PF cause he basically just used 7 people and then wasted everyone's time after.

I don't usually post but... it's like "farm" parties aren't even a thing. I've been trying to farm for Ravana EX weapons for alts recently, and I can't even get a party to clear the damn thing once. It's usually three attempts then a ragefest from one guy, because no one can do double prey right. The dps hasn't been too lacking since the shields get broken, but it's like no one can do a simple mechanic (i.e. running to a wall so you don't get pushed off). I'm too afraid to even try for Bismarck EX to get some glamour weapons.

It's like what people said before, once you get your clear no one try's anymore.
An example would be the Ravana Ex clears we were trying to do in our FC. Some members like myself practice and spent hours in learning parties and watching videos to become borderline experts, while some members get there clear the first or second time without the same level of practice and they still go "derp" on the mechanics. Long story short, there were a ton of wipes for just trying to clear for "2" people. -

If you find good people in pf for something you want to farm lots start a linkshell. It'll save you a lot of time.
Lots of people will buy carries, then attempt to join farm parties as soon as that law bonus doesn't show up. I've seen people who have their clear who have no idea about any of the mechanics. One rav ex party had a healer who had absolutely no idea how to do any of the mechanics. They MUST'VE bought a carry, or in their clear died early and had an extremely good solo-healer.
Most of the legitimate population of my blacklist consists of the people who've joined my farm parties that explicitly say cleared only and don't admit it when the law bonus pops up. I know learning a fight is frustrating, but for most of us who got to the point where we do farm parties, we put in the hours of wipes in pf. It doesn't make us "elitist" (which I got called preceding a much, much worse word in a t10 farm party by a guy wanting a carry), we paid our dues and want a party with people of similar skill level.

There's a duality of issues here.
The first is terrible leaders who can't actually lead or farm. This is often a major problem for people because they clear one time having other people handle mechanics and then think they are perfect.
The second is the lax attitude of leaders. When I put no bonus, I don't make exceptions. When I put clear, I quickly replace weak links. My girlfriend and I also remember the bad players and kick them often. -

There are farm parties that do work fine. Pony farm parties in ARR (before expansion) for example, sometimes.
There are people that join farm parties when they have a clear or two, but not enough experience to have the fight in farm mode. You need several clears so that you reasonably know you will clear every time with no problem (= farm mode.)
A different thing is that people in Party Finder may have never played together and it takes maybe some time to get used to each other.
Some people do join farm parties to get a clear (I hope a very small part of them.) -

People often forget it's a game. You're meant to have fun. And some of the greatest laughs I got was when people that were farming made the silliest mistakes possible. -

I tend not to compare any farm party to bis ex lol that fight is just stupidddd (the mog ex of HW lol)...imo Ravana ex is wayyyy easier lol...
But then again Bismarck requires individual exceptional dps out put where is Ravana is more so individual survival (with a dps check not hard to meet) but the survey clearly shows ppl are way better at running around then actually playing their job correctly.
