I will agree with you on this! Although you know it'll eventually become extremely expensive synths (or perhaps they'll come from the new airship encounters)...
I'd be behind this, I really dig the Valerian maiming gear. I'd like to be able to color the orthodox gear too.
Yes, yes, yes. Maybe they'll drop from the islands..?
Everything needs to be dyeable >.<
Valerian Healer robe in Black though...*dies <3*
I wish Valerian gears were not all male gears and ninja was ninja, not rogue.

I don't understand SE's obsession with not letting us dye things.
Please don't dye my stuff, I like it void black.
its probably coming as a reskin dye-able set of crafted gear in the next upcoming patches like all other dungeon gear.
please look forward to it
Well, I figure it is initially undyeable due to essentially being the armor from Tactics Ogre. I believe that was the first game that art designer Akihiko Yoshida worked on, and this was the 20th anniversary of that game and of Yoshida's employment at Square. So having it in the game is similar to having the Warror of Light armor in crystal tower, or any of the other classic armors, most of which were initially undyeable.
We'll probably get dyeable versions later, but for now I'll bet they want to celebrate the history of the designs and their creator.
I don't mind it being a crafting recipe as long as I can dye it!
Then why can we dye Cloud's Armor? Its iconic.
Why can we change certain hair colors? Its iconic.
Why can't we --... Just because something is iconic doesn't mean it can't be personalified. Your speaking of a single player game vs a MMO. Its not fun to see 39 people with the exact same looking outfit as you.
It might actually have to do with licensing the art. SE bought Quest out and therefore owns the Ogre series, but Yoshida, Matsuno, and even Sakimoto are now freelancers. They don't work for SE and SE may not own the rights to manipulate the art at will.
So, for example, if Yoshida - or whoever owns the right to the designs - requested that the armor not be dyable if used in-game, SE would have to comply. This isn't uncommon in Japanese games with cross-overs.
Meanwhile, SE definitely, absolutely has an iron grip over everything FF.
3.2 3 stars Valerian Steel / Valerian Thread and Valerian Leather gear. Also Wait for the Augmented versions of them AND augmented AF2.
Yeah, except this is an MMORPG. When you add something to an MMORPG you have to go by the logic of the game, if something is dyable or can be made different it should be put into the game. If it can't then it should of never been added in the first place.
Its basicly a tease and actually hurts the armor's value because nobody likes "Attack of the Clones."
Totally with you, Nektulos-Tuor. If people want to wear "iconic" gear, then they can wear it without dyeing it. Typically in MMOs with a dye system, when you get an armor you... dye the armor. But no, in typical SE fashion they decide to overcomplicate and artificially restrict things related to a player being able to make their character in the way they want.
It'll be dyeable later like much of the gear we've received in dungeons. The only question is when: next patch, 2 patches from now, next expansion? I personally don't agree with the method and would rather dye the armor right then and there or at least have a way to create a crafted lvl 1 equivalent (in the same patch) that is dyeable. The problem we run into though is that when we do get a dyeable version of the gear through crafts, some jobs end up being completely excluded when they could have worn the non-dyeable version.
idc where the gear originates from, all gear needs to be dyeable, please se dont add any that isn't in the future.
Release the titans grip on fun plz
