I never knew how much i wanted it until* my Smn got it.
That would be really neat but I don't see it ever happening.
Yeah let's make it so all we have to do is hit one button and make things super easy. Reason smn got that skill was because one they're a dps class and two their primary damage is dots.
Our primary role is healing. Not DPS. Healers were not created with DPS in mind so getting this skill in all likelihood will never happen.
Well...maybe something similar but for heals? I mean, Deployment Tactics is a Healer version of Bane. Maybe a 120s recast oGCD ability that Cures 450 potency/Galvanizes/Removes Ailment/Eye for Eye on a single target. Call it Tetra Guard instead of Tri-Disaster!
It won't happen. It's not an ACN skill, it's a SMN specific skill that should remain SMN only.
Would be funny if Selene was turned into a tank-type pet like Titan (since it's Summon II) and you had her tanking tank busters and shit XD
"If you're targetted by Ahk Mourn, get behind the fucking fairy!!"
*Bahamut Prime Ahk Mourn"
/ac "Fey Cover"
*Imagines Judge Dredd*
*Imagines Judge Dredd dressed in a Carby suit*
*Imagines Sylvester Stallone dressed in a Carby suit with a Law of Levin smashing your face in screaming "I AM THE LAW" as green numbers appear healing you*
Well... That was an interesting train of thoughts >>;
I'd rather have a cooldown that makes miasma and energy drain not miss.
YES I WOULD HAPPILY DEDICATE A COOLDOWN TO THIS.
They totally take this into account with how they release content before it's possible to clear without healers dpsing.
They aren't that stupid....
Having to explain this fine distinction over and over again is exhausting.
Yoshida specifically addressed healer DPS in raid scenarios, describing how it was not used for calculating what the dev team deemed to be the minimum clear requirement for a given ilvl.
None of that means that healers were not created with DPS in mind. The selection of DPS skills they receive up to and past level 50 highly suggests otherwise.
Pretty much my interpretation of all these comments from Yoshi-P is as follows:
- You don't need to DPS as a healer to succeed if your team is of appropriate ilvl strength
- We have given you the tools to increase your DPS potential if you choose to make use of them
- You shouldn't begrudge other players for how they want to play
Comment #3 is directed to players on both side of the coins.
I will admit though, it a secret blessing that the whole DPS vs Not DPS debate has pretty much disappeared for now with the outcry of AST discussion these past couple of weeks.
Hmmm, a fairy specifically for dps would be great , lol
idk I kinda like that rush when trying to get all 3 dots up on a risky massive pull while saying to myself "omg......this could wipe us.....YES! Bane and tank still alive" /lustrate spam
As important as I think a healer's DPS skills are, I'm really wary of the idea of a DPS fairy since she would either kill or be killed by Selene in group content and would infringe on the SMN's identity as pet DPS.
Don't get me wrong; I'd love to watch a fairy throw sparkles of doom at enemies, but I don't think it would work out well.
I dont think Scholars should get the new Tri-Disaster, if anything getting the old Tri-Disaster, Tri-Bind now would make more sense. While I am aware that Scholars are the DPS healer, they are missing moves like a bind, I know they have a silence with Selene but its not viable like the other silence/stuns, so I see no issues giving them Tri-Bind. As for a DPS pet, I'm on the fence about that. I would like Scholars to get another pet but I do feel it would encroach on Summoners territory. If anything, regardless of getting a third pet or not, adding a DPS move seems okay, but the move would have to be turned off when on obey, since Embrace should be the only move on auto. That being said, the DPS move should be like Assize, and deal DPS and heal the party/party member (though party is better) for a set amount. But the move would have to be a decent potency to make it viable too; Assize is affected by Clerics Stance and a fairy can't switch like we can.
SCH player here....and...no, just no.
Tri-Bind is almost completely useless in PvE, and my guess is that the PvP community wouldn't welcome another caster with ranged AoE root.
SMN can keep that one, too.
no just no
Instead of a fairy that could deal DPS, they could add a fairy that could enfeeble the boss. Lower the boss defense/magic defense and a move that worked like Hawk's Eye, ensuring that every attack landed. If they add a debuff healer in the future, those moves would not stack (and they wouldn't stack with things like Trick Attack or the MCH moves).
The last thing scholars need are buffs.

...as long as she doesn't get the laugh.
One thing I have noticed is they pretty much created a healer job that you really don't want to DPS on. When I don't feel like DPS as a healer I play my AST since their DPS is so abysmal that you can become a hinderince due to mana costs. And I'll play SCH when I just want to get crap done quickly.
AST DoTs are unmatched (Well, combust II anyway) and have no accuracy check. You can spent a lot of time out of cleric and still do pretty decent DPS. WHM can do better DPS but you basically have to full time cleric to do it and losing even a GCD or two to healing, or even misses, will see your numbers plummet.
Now healers can pull better numbers but AST, you can get by with just 2 GCDs in cleric stance, heal the rest of the time, and still sustain pretty OK damage for a healer.
