Having lag problems after 7 pm

I am having a lag problem. What is strange about this problem is that it only happens on this game and only after 7 pm. I have verizon FiOS and I my character is on the Diabolos server in the primal datacenter. I live in northern virginia.

I have done a tracert and I always have hops disconnect when I am lagging. I don't know how to diagnose it and I have no idea what it means. Is there anything I can do about it? Anyone else have lag issues?

I too am having horrible lag issues for the last 30? minutes. Perfectly fine and now me and a few fc members are lagging so bad, our skills won't go off and we have to use them a good 2-4 times. Everything else but XIV runs fine, sort of like last week? when tons of people on Aether couldn't even connect or would get d/ced within seconds of getting on.

Same issue here... Though today was the first time it's actually been unplayable for me. 1~2 sec lag on actions with AST sucks @_@

It's getting to be unplayable at this point. I hope the problem resolves itself somehow. Tonight I can't play at all with the amount of lag on every action I try to do.

Been lagging on Cactuar. Tanking a regular dungeon was really annoying. Skills not going off and standing in AoE I'm clearly not...

Bout this lag it is real on my end as well... did Alex 1 with friends static... seen in video of a friend later I heal-LB1ed pretty much at start >.< Never seen that on my screen lol

two days in a row, at the exact same time, 20h30 paff 90ked and takes me around 10mn to get back in. I will just do with this as I read there seems to have been some problems with instability on servers as they said in their front page

looks like congestion prevention measures are kicking in at some hops... so many not responding. If you run a trace during a more stable time of day you may see some of those same hops report an address and response times. If so... you pretty much have your answer--too much congestion along the route you have been assigned by your ISP.

And surprise surprise... Level3's car2 hops in Montreal are going haywire again (they frequently show highly erratic responses).

I've lived in MD and now DC with Verizon FIOS and you will always have this issue during primetime. The game is unplayable without using WTFast (or another tunneling service). I've been playing FFXIV since launch and these issues are still present.

I've opened tickets with Verizon and they make the excuse that "they have no control over the data once they hand it off".

So your options are to either get a new ISP or use a tunneling service. My only other option is Comcast, so I opt to use the tunneling service.

Had the same problem yesterday once I logged in, I was worried because I just changed internet provider yesterday too, and was wondering if it was my internet, now I see that it wasn't on my end.

Maybe they are having a lot of congestion at that time so the servers kinda get clogged?

Gilgamesh, west coast, Cox Wireless. My connection seems stable (insofar as Cox is ever stable) but I've been lagging in the evenings too suddenly (over the last 2-3 days).

Been my issue the whole time as well. In Delaware with Verizon Fios. Game is stupid laggy without WTFast. I NEED to use it, or the game just runs like garbage, lag wise. Perfectly smooth and quick with WTFast though.

It has nothing to do with SE. It's the path the data takes to get to the servers, unfortunately.
