The patch notes are not available yet. Give it another hour or two and they should be. They will likely include AST changes.
I really hope to see something today for AST :) can't wait for patch notes

Lightspeed is awesome now.
YEAAAAAHHHHH!!! TONIGHT IS A FREAKIN GOOD NIGHT BABY!!!!
...gona pretend CU change isnt there.
That... Doesn't really change anything in a meaningful way.
"We've heard that Collective Unconscious and Celestial Opposition are very underwhelming, so we're going to... do nothing about it. Also, there's even less reason to go Nocturnal."
But what we did get is pretty cool.
I expected them to change more than that...
Especially the Nocturnal Sect for Collective Unconscious and Celestial Opposition. T_T
These changes are nice but are kinda "meh".
How can you say this? Lightspeed is now a great cooldown, there is no reason not to use it, Ewer and Spire are both useful under almost all circumstances.
RR changes dont have a huge impact, and spread/shuffle is a pure awesome buff.
CU..well lets say changes couldve been better, potency buff wasnt exactly the issue with the skill.
I was hoping for changes to noct sect as well. Lightspeed shall have a spot on my hotbar again ^_^
But but...lightspeed still got bottlenecked at recast time :((.
Well, AST now has become a class which can refresh both MP and TP with a beefy 35s tick...
It's on a 150 second cooldown, and lasts for 10 seconds. Inside those ten seconds, your GCD recast time is unchanged, meaning that you can cast four, maybe five spells, and now save 25% MP on them. That's equivalent to a single free cure, every two and a half minutes. It used to be a cooldown so bad that using it actually actively made you a worse healer. Their idea to improve it is to make it technically beneficial instead of detrimental, in a way that doesn't really matter.
AST still has no options for increasing their healing output, the way that a WHM can use Divine Seal or Presence of Mind, or a SCH can use Rouse and blow through Aetherflow stacks.
The card changes are nice - now there's only one terrible card, where before there were three - but in addition to buffing the cards that sucked, they needed to make some changes to the underlying mechanic of drawing and playing cards. A 30s reduction on Shuffle does not begin to scratch the surface of that.
AST was in need of the sort of overhaul that Warrior got going from 2.0 to 2.1. Instead they got a little band-aid fix that repaired maybe 2/3 of the skills that were actively terrible, while leaving the others just as bad as they were to begin with, and without adding anything that would actually make it into a strong class.
While I am disappointed at the CU change, I have to admit that I didnt want to lose the coolest channeling animations in the game, the idea of drop and forget change on CU never really did appeal to me.
Wonder what they could do to make CU a better utility..
I don't get why people are acting like we didn't get any buffs at all. What we did get is awesome. And it's not like they said, "these are the only buffs ast is getting, ever." I'm sure nocturnal sect buffs will come eventually.
Well its now another skill benefits from Spear, and if by the one terrible card you are referring to Spear, I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you, its the one card that allows me to keep up with other healer in A4 espeically during last phase.
Also 4 spells do not equal to one free cures, assuming that Helios also benefit from lightspeed. 10 seconds could be buffed to 15 with CO, its a great combo to use spear+LA+LS+CO.
People seem to fail to see they did in fact address fundamental problem, and made changes in "an Astrologian like way". The idea of AST is to pump out more heal at a lower potency, the problem with that before is that mana becomes a problem.
Now not only do we get LS, we even got the Ewer buff. I do not know how these changes will affect my gameplay until i play the game, but i certainly feel like SE is address the weakness of AST in a proper way.
For the record, im not one of those "AST is a fine healer" derp knight, but these changes are nothing to be sneeze at, just because we didnt receive a numerical potency buff doesnt mean we didnt get a buff in healing output.
And im going to end my pro-ast buffs with this post before i become of the dem derp knight, from other thread seems like people arent at all satisfied.
Personally im really happy to see these buffs, and think that most are expecting way too much for the buffs(and the subsequent disappointment.)
I think i'll use Lightspeed now for resurrect people (-2,5 seconds and -25% mp reduction will save my MP so hard). 10 seconds for heavy healing will be useless because the GCD. You will cast 3 spells (or 4 if you are fast) with the same amount of healing potency.... (oh but you can move! (very situational)).
The change is ok but not impresive.
Easily. Most of the buffs are nice, but they did nothing to fix where we were hurting. We will all log on today a bit stronger than we were when we logged off, but the lack of emergency healing, the chance to waste a CD to get literally nothing done (shuffle drawing the same card), the issue of diurnal being better than noct in literally every situation (and now even more so), and the fact we do less healing overall than both other healers are all issues that will still be there.
We do not really do less healing then other healers overall. Every parse I did on A4 in Duirnal sect I was around 1950 hps to the white mage 2k-2100. Noc sect lets astrologians become emergency enabled healers. I managed to aspect noc shield myself and absorb 3-4 orbs while saving other people who tried to eat 2-3 at once with fast timed shield and essential. a near 1k potency heal on 40 second cooldown along with the fix to light speed puts astrologian's on par with white mage and scholar now. Scholar has lustrate and emergancy tactics. We have synastry and lightspeed along with essential. White mage has Benediction and Terra along with a potency boost ability.
What I really was hoping to see was some changes to celestial unconscious in nocturnal stance, possibly in diurnal as well. Even though SE said that they won't change potencies and will make more "astrologian" changes, they in fact change nothing on CU.
I think changes are in great direction, but i still rather see some skills become useful from useless.
Now what is going to happen - TP cards will be used for range buff / spear will mostly always will go for duration increase for ewer on yourself to change some mana, rather than using it to reduce cooldown on luminous ether.
And still the whole nocturnal stance issues are not adressed - regarding time dilation, celestial opposition - two skills in 50-60 range that synergize with nothing in nocturnal stance.
New Astrologian changes:
Job ability | Game-too-hard:
Cast time: Instant, Recast: 30 seconds, Mp cost: 100
For 30 seconds beams of light and cards emit from your body. Keeping the party's hp capped while giving continued buffs to the entire party.
This is what astros need to satisfy this forum.
Hope to see more AST love :) Thanks SE!
