I really want to enjoy these 3.0 leveling dungeons but....

is it even possible with such pitiful exp rewards? I'm pretty sure Aurum vale gives more exp than most of the 51+ dungeons which is really sad considering the monsters in the 51+ dungeons also take twice as long to kill. Hopefully we get some big exp buffs in 3.1 to make them at least worth running over the level sync'd ones.

They're more fun than AV, if that helps.

The post 50 leveling experience is horrible period. Sure the first one we had quests to help us out but it seems once you hit 50 the exp needed per lvl is insane compared to the exp per hr we can earn. And still have no idea whats with no exp in lvl 50 dungeons, that should have been fixed or implemented by now.

With queue times stabilizing and with dps queues easily hitting 20-30 minutes again, leveling a second or third job is just becoming a pain. They either need to up the exp or reduce the exp needed per lvl. 800-something-k I believe to hit 50 jumping to 3.8m in 10 lvls is just ridiculous.

Remember, you are also getting actions every 2 levels instead of 4. They wanted this to take as long to get from 50-60 as it did to get from 1-50. This is how. You get actions at smaller intervals, but it takes longer to do each one.

Didn't seem so bad to me the second time around excepth for getting from 58 to 59. The rest was pretty easy.

Dungeons are great to practice your new skills into your rotation and also has the bonus of possibly getting awesome new gear.

Only someone who doesn't care about repetition and enjoys it will choose to do AV over and over again instead of the new dungeons.

I just leveled arcanist to 60 as summoner almost exclusively with the new dungeons, and I can't wait for my WHM to get to them(at 47 now, f AV).

It really wasn't bad. Tab out and read forums or do dishes while in queue.

AV is literally an XP pinata after the first room. Each seedling is worth 2351XP with food, and they're so easy to kill--why wouldn't you want to run AV over Dusk Vigil or the Aery?

Yeah, I don't understand why people have issues with AV. It's really not that hard.

Luckily I did my Bard first and am now leveling my Scholar with with I am getting sub 5 minute que times every time. Oh and I just remembered that this auto levels my Summoner at the same time nice...just need to go do my Job quests and get my abilities.
But any way I am currently at 56 and doing dungeons almost exclusively...just do FATES in Northern Thanalan in between ques to keep the xp rollin' in...LOL. You only have to do like 5 dungeons to get 2M XP...so it doesn't take as long to level each job to 50 as some people are making out...the ques times would be the only hold up.

If I remember right its a combination of what AV was like in 1.0 (which is also where the DD hate comes from too I think), and when 2.0 intially came out AV had a good bit of lag too for everyone. Might have been something else too involved with it beyond Coincounter. At the very least by the time I started in 2.1 it was better even if it left a bad taste in many player's mouths.

It's only really a pain with a new tank. They tend to chain pull several packs and kill the party, and especially eat the mechanics on the 2nd boss, getting insta-gibbed. Still, I'm a patient person and I always tell them how to deal with the dungeon, but sometimes people don't listen. ^^'

3.88 exp required from 59 to 60. The level 59 dungeon gives 500k exp per run. Not including bonus. That 7ish runs, the lesser dungeons scale down accordingly. But it's easy. Unless you want to level alone at which point mmo why?

It's insanely quicker to lvl gathering and crafting 50-60 than it is dps. Like a ton easier.

It's not that it's hard, I just hate being level synced and losing my abilities. That and I just find the whole aesthetic of the dungeon really...urgh. Whereas you've got the Heavensward dungeons with fun mechanics, no sync (while levelling), aesthetically pleasing environments and monsters (Bibliothing, last boss of Library <3), and level appropriate loot.

To cut it short, I prefer to have fun, not be as efficient as possible.

There are lot of people who seem to not know or forget that they meant for 50-60 to take about as long (if not a little less) than 1-50, so of course you wont be getting a level every dungeon run or two.

People 50+ are running AV for exp? That's news to me. I know once the Vault opens up, people are running that and its good exp which is great. Group content SHOULD provide more exp then questing/soloing. Logic wins here. You fight more difficult shit, the rewards should be greater.

But it's not "great", it's "okay". A seedling is worth 2351XP, compared to a Halonic whatever in the Vault giving ~3500XP. Look at the time it takes to burn down the entire seedbed, versus killing an equal number of Halonic trash in the Vault, and you can see why the effort/reward ratio favors AV.

Edit: Also, it's a problem that Dust Vigil and the Aery are complete trash compared to just running AV or low roulette, and your first real equivalent dungeon is the Vault.

Its really easy and fast leveling only using the last HW dungeon available to you, and you get yourself with the best equips you could get at your level, i dont know why people are complaining, you want to do the dungeon 2 times and level up ?

No, but I would at least like them to be a more efficient method of leveling than dungeons 4-8 levels below them. The problem is that the 100% armory bonus sub-50 makes AV better than both Dusk Vigil and Sohm Al with their 50% bonus.

This is how I do it.

Chain run the highest level dungeon available. From 16-60.

And AV sucks with new tanks, old tanks that forget how big a bitch it can be, and Coincounter. No matter how far away from that glare I am, I still get hit. Every time.

You shouldn't be getting the 100% armory bonus.

if you are, it needs fixed.

To my understanding it was originally hated because of the last boss, if you had a SMN or SCH chances are you were screwed because the stacking debuffs affected pets, once they patched that it was fine, Plus some DDs and WHM didn't know how to AoE but that's all cleared up now for the most part.

I ran it again after you said this and you're right, although Stone Vigil still seems to give around the same amount of exp as AV does with 50% bonus. I guess the next dungeon should hopefully see a decent increase.
