This new bard play style blows.

Change it back. Also, If you want us to be "support dps" Add regen/magic resist songs. Give us more songs to play with, and to help groups besides raiding songs. That would give more flavor to bard than turning them into mages.

Common sense is lost.

I wanted to play as a BRD not as a 3rd rate caster.

This is not the first time it's been mentioned. It's not even the tenth. Please, just give it a rest. It's been noted by everyone here, Yoshida, hell even Hydealyn probably is looking into it.

How about no? The fact that it got changed in the first place, shows a lack of understanding what players wanted from the class. The fact that they go from saying we are a Support dps, than change mind saying DPS, and back to support dps. The left hand does not know what right hand is doing.

So the more threads, and the more it is talked about the better. So if you don't like it. Don't read it, or answer it.

How is SE supposed to understand what players want when players don't even know what they want? For every bard that wants mobility and support, there's one that wants to have competitive damage.

That is the problem. Bard players are also confused because of what SE Said about the class itself. At one point, they said "No such thing as support dps" and now They are saying "Support dps". The fault is with them.

If this is a support dps class, the lack of support options outside of raiding is laughable. They changed the limit break, and made us more of a "mage dps" yet, they did not give us better tools for support.

Like I said, the devs don't even know what the class is. How can players?

Nah that is ok. My own thread is just fine.

Machinists also didn't have the class they liked turned into something very different. The basic functionality of bard was completely changed. I didn't think it was that broken before HW that it needed to be redone.

And that would be why you have a casting stance you can't get used to or refuse to adapt to. Must suck, huh?

Honestly? I've gotten used to it already.

I had to shuffle my hotbars and I kept hitting Wind Bite instead of Heavy Shot for a little bit because of it, but I've got my rotation more or less standardized now. Making WM a 15 second toggle is great because you can dump your burst damage with it up at the start of a dodge heavy boss, then pop it off.

I guess I had less trouble adjusting since I had 50 BLM and SMN as well. The rhythm change was jarring since I have to wait a second before smacking an OCD action, but I'm getting better at it now.

All I can say is, the less bards there are because of WM and its changes, the more spots for me in a raid. Wheee!

Geez OP why do you have to be so snide to people who aren't even disagreeing with you? Calm the sass dude, you're just making your point less valid when you scream bloody murder at people who are trying to point you to other topics where people are agreeing with you.

I don't like WM mechanics either, but spamming the forums and calling riot isn't going to get you anywhere. At least WM and GB aren't an active detriment anymore- I think both Bard and Machinist could still use a lot of work, but I'm super happy that Machinists like me aren't being booted out of PF anymore at least. Just... if you wanna complain man, try to be constructive about it. When you rant and rave at people who are just trying to help you, no one is going to support your cause.

And yet some bards have said they are jumping ship to machinist just to play almost the same play style they are saying they hate because mch is not listed as 'Bard'... Goodbye logic, if it was ever there in the first place....

and OP, give it a rest please. making your own thread doesn't make that much of a difference, you're probably one of the people who scanned the other threads too and then tried to make yourselves look like a bigger bard complain population than you actually are.

If there's a legit problem then SE is looking into it, one thread should be enough to spam with concerns. No one needs x10 of the same topic just for attention seeking reasons. -.-

He's just upset that some people don't agree with his opinion. Anyways, two thing can happen if he continues to derail: his thread gets locked since it contributes to nothing. (Him insulting others is not "General Discussion") or he gets temp banned for reason one.

I don't really care if I get reported to the mods. I don't see myself not acting civil. I see myself asking people if they don't like what I have to say. Stay out of the thread. They kept on, and wanted to talk about skill.

I have been very Civil. I just don't feel like I should have to explain something as simple as, if you don't like the thread. Ignore it.

Except you're also losing two extra skills and also taking time to reapply dots with two skills instead of one for more TP... while another bard is saving that time to do actual phys attacks, the cast time is more or less around the same amount of time as GCD too plus you can just swap it off when you feel like it's a better situation for AA or mobility...

So all you're really losing is AA until you decide to turn it off unless blood letter resets, then you're losing a bit there in the middle of cast...

But I agree, AA does make up for a lot of DPS round ups however I think the skill is ok, it just needs more fixing with it's kinks.

You apparently don't know how forums work. They aren't a soapboax or complaint box for you to simply shout your opinion to the rooftops without any reply/disagreement. That's what blogs are for. If you want to just whine and not have people challenge you, then make a blog and disable comments (or delete ones you don't like).

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the new BRD skills. All these stupid claims of "I don't want to play a BLM" are ridiculous. It's 1.5s of having to stand still. And in exchange we get 30% damage boost. Perfectly fair/balanced. Does it change the playstyle? Not really... not unless you were one of those annoying, bunny hopping BRDs that ran around for absolutely no reason. And technically those BRDs can still do that... they just can't take advantage of the new skills.

For my personal point of view WM is not a DPS stance it's just a Burst stance while your DPS will slowly drop little by little, you can have massive dmg with EA + buff opened (Normally starting fight) but your DPS will drop due to your cast time and no auto attack. You can burst ADD with EA, but not for high DPS run and nowadays BARD are less needed for Bis EX, they more prefer MCH instead.
