Heavensward fates

I am told doing a fate in Heavensward gets you 18k per and a fate in N. thalaran gets you 21k and is shorter.

I would assume this is working as intended but i fail to see the purpose here. Can anyone explain me why HW fates are bad?

EDIT: i just got 12k for a 50 fate in C. western at best score.

FATEs in NT only net you 14k, not 21k. There are only two FATEs in NT that give you 21k, and they are both very long spawn/rare.

FATEing in general is not a good way to grind (and SE has been trying to disincentivize it for years, hence why the numbers are low). The new HW dungeons are by far the best and fastest way to level. FATEs, Levequests, and Hunts are what you do in the meantime while waiting for your queue to pop.

Oh ok. This is about playing the way SE wants me to. Nothing i haven't heard before. Can't say i agree though.

I do get like 20k exp at higher level hw areas though, and because no1 does them, their difficulties never get scaled and I clear them real fast. Am I alone?

The 21k comes from people who already have a level 60 job, the armory bonus adds 50% to the 14k.

N. Thanalan FATEs are actually a very efficient method to level. You get around 400-500k exp/h in N. Thanalan with the armory bonus. It is by far the easiest way to reach level 55.

Or you could have just answered with this rather than making something up... I agree its not the best way to necessarily grind. But there has been zero indication that they are trying to "disincentivize" anything about it.

Nothing in there contradicts what I said. Yes, they are fixing FATEs in HW areas, but they have still never intended them to be the primary form of grinding. Ever since people first started using them for such in 2.0, Yoshi-P was surprised and buffed dungeons in order to make them more appealing for leveling.

Since then, they have buffed dungeons and roulette even more, making dungeons, by far, the best and fastest form of leveling.

Unless you're a DD, have fun with the queue times. With a premade, it is the fastest, no doubt about that.

Unless you queue up for a specific and unpopular dungeon, queue time for a DPS is not sooo long.
My queue time as MNK for a roulette is between 3-10 minutes (resets because of withdrawals not counted).

Maybe on your server, but "Sove92" is on Shiva like me. Even during prime time, (when there's a log in que), DPS classes have a long que time even in roulettes. I sat in the trials roulette for about 25 minutes or so earlier today when it told me I had an "average wait time of 5 minutes". The wait times for HL, LL, and Expert can get even worse. If you're not playing in prime time hours, then expect about a 40min to hour long wait if you're going in solo as a DPS. If you're quing for an individual dungeon or trial, with the exception of one or two, you're going to have a long wait no matter what time of day you're trying to find a group......

Actually I've been on Phoenix for 1½ weeks now, because it's impossible to get a serious progression group on Shiva, unless you speak German, guess the forum doesn't automatically update it for now. It's still the same datacenter, though, so DDs still have quite long wait times, my MNK friend consistently reported 60min queue times.

And surprisingly, it did update the server now.

Duty Finder is about server groups, not single servers. And Shiva and Ragnarok are both in the Chaos group.
There is also a difference between melee dps queue time and ranged dps queue time, i think
