Is Alexander raid missing something? Whole gear drops?

I thought we were suppose to get tokens from the new raid if we didn't get anything? Not lot against 7 other players for tokens, to unlock gear? I thought this new raid was actually going to be done right for a change, this is ridiculous! Not even completed gear drops, just tokens?

Guess I thought wrong, new raid blows.

Gear should be dropping after the boss, not tokens alone. Tokens should be given to the rest of the players who didn't receive a gear reward. You get gear or a token you're locked out from receiving anything else from that floor for the rest of the week, but you can still help. Maybe they could have added an option to not collect a token, so you could rerun the floor if you want to try and get a piece of gear.

They had a ok loot system and it could have been a lot better to keep it as it was and just add tokens.

One or the other people, not get loot and a token, you get a token or a piece of gear from the floor and are locked out from casting lots.

We could always go back to "this boss has a .03% chance to drop a recipe that has a 60% chance to succeed in creating your item" like Lineage 2. :D

my main grips with alexander token system is the number of different token... and the fact it will take you 4 week for get your body armor whatever you do.

the token system is nice, but how they have done it, it's quite bad!
when savage alexander will come out, we will get 7 more token, we don't have infinite space in our inventory and they continue to flow us with tons of item. they really need to rethink the token system.

ps: i know that you need about 5 week for get full stuff, that a good thing, but too many token for this.

I kind of wish these "tokens" would instead go into our "key items."

I'd prefer it to be like the new EX primals, everyone gets a token at the end of each run but apparently they thought that was a bad idea. Anything to make us grind more. >_>

So would you rather farm the boss over and over hoping for the armor you want to drop or just run it a few times to guarantee the armor? Note this is coming from someone who has yet to do it yet as I am working.

$2/month on top of your sub fee for more bank space.... that's how we fix inventory problems around here.

OT: Yeah... I wasn't expecting there to be so many different kinds of token, that's a little silly. Did body and legs really need to be different tokens? Did belts need to be different tokens than accessories? It's needlessly convoluted and it's an absolute disaster for your inventory space.

No, they're just looking to be rewarded for their efforts rather than their luck, which is not unreasonable.

I prefer the system Guild Wars 2 used, where every single person participating in the run receives dungeon currency for their time and effort, and you can save up that currency to eventually purchase gear specific to that dungeon. In this fashion, you are *always* making progress on your goals every time you go to the dungeon. It completely removes randomness out of the equation, and no time is ever wasted on a run that amounted to nothing.

That's a selfish loot system, honestly.
This loot system isn't bad, it's actually great for statics, because someone will always get something, which progresses your group as a whole, which is much better than everyone getting a little currency to grind.

WoW had the same thing, called valor points.

They got rid of them.

we could always just not have a normal version of Alexander at all...

I thought the loot system would be just like Ravana/Bismarck where you get gear but if you didn't get anything you get a token for your efforts and when you have enough you can get a piece but seems I was wrong.

How is that selfish? Everyone got a more general token that could be used to buy any piece of gear for that dungeon. It's just some pieces cost more tokens than others.

I honestly thought that the token system would be like GW2 but I see know that it's still going to be pretty irritating to gear up.

What, exactly, is selfish about rewarding everyone for a group effort?

You seem to be focused on the fact that this is (in your opinion) great for statics, and yet it stinks for non-statics (which happens to represent a majority of the people playing this content).

I'm assuming you're in a static and would argue that your opinion is both a little biased and selfish, honestly. Much more so than the idea of rewarding everyone equally with every run.

I'm still at work so I haven't had the opportunity to run Alexander yet, so can someone clarify something for me. Does a single token drop from each floor? So for a static, that would mean running each floor 8 times, with a total of 4 floors. That's 32 two runs a week. Is this correct?

Each boss drops 2 tokens but can be 2 of same type of 2 separate ones, so closer to 20ish.

The only thing I can think of that is missing from Alexander is DPS who know how to dodge.

I think the current Alexander is abit too easy to be dropping gear AND guaranteed tokens for everyone each kill like Bismarck and Ravana EX.
