Anyone else think that mages in pvp when using sprint should burn their mp instead of stamina? Kind of silly that they can use sprint with pretty much zero repercussions.

You can interrupt their casting with a sneeze so no. It's fine as is.

its fine for me with caster sprint but they should add one to melee without losing TP
It is balanced also all ok.
Most problem is, players don't know your own skills.
if we were out of those cooldowns, then i guess were screwed?
melees can already destroy us badly, especially as blm, sprint is our hope to run away from you. if you're also able to run, then were doomed.
edit: my bad, i don't mean that they can defeat us that easily, it just depends on the situation. (and mostly talking from a blm Pov.) waltars right in that case.

no when im playing SMN melee just like T7 renued you can destroy melee with garuda / bio / rain 2 / swiftcast bio 2/ energy drain / fester / wither / aetheric brust ( you really dont need to cast )
sprint is our hope to run away from you?
what about sleep? you really dont need to worry about runing away from melee when you playing blm

yeah, smn has better survival success, as to why i mentioned mainly blm in my reply.
well, i guess it depends on the scenario, but if there was one going on, then i'd use swift+sleep, if the melees still have their purify, then its all in vain, especially if they are able to stun, then surecast is also not going to work either. we could try to bind you, but the skill itself takes a few to cast, and you can still interupt that easily by throwing a small range attack on us.
although, there's still manawall, but that nullifies only two physical attacks. with a less experienced melees, i think we'd be fine, but with someone more experienced it'll be tough.
and don't the melees already have the ability to run? not exactly, but run + enliven works.
although it could go different...maybe swiftcast+freeze, have them waste their purify and then sleep.... it could work. and hopefully having nightwing and equanimity available, they have quite a long cooldown.

you have 4 instant cast defensive skills and a really powerful kiting spell when you combine it with high crit, phantom dart and the double damage proc
yeah, if all our skills are available, then were definitely going to be fine.

actually, it would be interesting to see a video of blm vs a melee with equal skills, there's one for the smn, but none for blm. ( unless i missed it somewhere. )

Mages are overpowered but it's not because they can Sprint (often).
It has a cooldown and they aren't allowed to sprint/move while casting (most spells) so I think it's fine the way it is.
Physical attackers definitely are at a disadvantage though because they use up the precious TP to Sprint when they need it for other abilities. If anything they need some kind of buff, instead of nerfing it for casters.
Personally I would like to see a buff to Enliven, putting that on a shorter cooldown would bring it more into balance in my opinion. 4 minutes is just way too long. It is also not a priority for spending your skill points in.
You could always use the feather items but I haven't really incorporated them into my gameplay well enough to know how reliable they are. At a glance I am dissatisfied with their cooldown as well. Do the 2 different items have shared cooldown timers? I don't even know.
Well i do not really see those melees skilled at all. If SMN can kite them like that melee dps is not using full potential of their job. Melees can use spint + enliven or sprint + invigorate or sprint + tp potion and believe me that 500 tp is enough for the kill your opponent. Even without sprint they can weapon throw and remove sprint then just jump on your target and it can not escape anymore if they do not use bind or garuda knock back. Against cc you can use fetter ward and then you are immune against cc. I do not know about other melees since i have only dragoon myself but if dragoon know what 2 do there is no way SMN can have even chance kite it like that if you use ur skills properly and know what 2 do. Probably tanks have pretty horrible situation because they have not so much mobility tools for it but melee dps is pretty good situation 1v1 against casters.

I'm ok with sprint burning MP pool in PvP, if you're ok with every melee skill taking a full GCD to land, and being interrupted by a faerie sneezing on the other side of the zone.
Sprint is the only advantage casters have otherwise they are at a disadvantage in 1v1 against a melee becasue every melee attack interrupts casting. If equalibrium, surecast and swiftcast are on cd than a caster is a sitting duck.
Sprint: 30s cd

(These cds are of course for people who are having trouble keeping up with mages.)

The fight between a melee and caster shouldn't even last that long, but you get the idea.
Nope. Let them sprint. Casters in PvP rely heavily on their cooldowns to be effective (when they're being attacked anyway) and sprint is totally one of them. Any changes to it would mess them up good.
