Level 51+ DoL abilities I'd like to see in Heavensward

I'd like to see more QoL abilities for gathering certain finicky items.

Toil of the Mountaineer/Pioneer II (600 GP): Uncover a Hidden item at the selected node.

• Useful for forcing seeds/soil to pop at a node, if slowly.

Master Moocher (500 GP): Use the currently hooked fish as bait.

• Because ARGHHHHHH why can't you mooch with NQ fish.

Alternatively, or in addition to the above,

Big Haul (400 GP): The next fish you land will be HQ. Can only be used on fish 10 or more levels below your own.

• Equivalent to Leaf Turn/Solid Reason from BTN/MIN.

Secure Line (500 GP): Prevents "the fish gets away".

Can you tell I've been Big Fishing recently? FFS.

Hell, I'd be happy if they'd make the Truth abilities auto-activate like the ones that reveal the standard nodes. Or better still, took them all and made them traits instead of abilities. It just seems weird the way they did it. I'd also like an intermediary HQ chance booster, call it 200GP for ~20%. Cordials could stand to have their cooldown drastically reduced, too.

TBH I'd be happy for any attention given to DoL at this point....

lots of wasted opportunity to make these classes more fun and interesting.

Plus where's our new DoL class or DoH even?

I don't see a particular need for more DoH or DoL classes but I would like an expansion of their current roles. The specialist/local lore systems should help a little bit but currently Big Fishing is a complete waste of time for no reward, so some of my proposed abilities are oriented toward alleviating some of the most frustrating parts of it to make it more in line with the reward (i.e. nothing).

I would also love to see some actual GP consuming abilities for fishing. Right now it's a completely wasted stat, despite it existing on fishing specific gear.

Mining / Botany:

Abilities:

(Insert Ward name here) II - Increase (Insert Elemental Shard/Crystal/Cluster) Yield by 4. (600 GP)

Deep Vigor II / Brunt Force II - Increases the chance of obtaining regular or HQ items to 100% and increases the Yield by 2. Can only be used after Chain #5. (0 GP)

Prospect II / Triangulate II - Surveys the land for mineral deposits and rocky outcrops / mature trees and lush vegetation and adds their locations to the map. (Toggle ability, 0 GP)

All or Nihil / Reckless Abandon - Switches percentages of obtaining regular and HQ items. Cannot activate Sharp Vision III/Field Mastery III while this ability is active. (100 GP)


Traits:

Enhanced Stealth IV - Increases the range of enemies avoidable when using Stealth to level 60.

Master of the Land - Automatically activates Prospect II, Triangulate II, Sonar II, Truth of Forests, Truth of Mountains, and Truth of Waters when class is changed to Miner, Botanist, or Fisher. Must have Prospect II, Triangulate II, Sonar II, Truth of Forests, Truth of Mountains, and Truth of Waters as abilities.


Fishing:

Abilities:

Sonar - Survey the landscape to locate fishing holes. (Toggle ability. 0 GP)

Sonar II - Survey the landscape to locate fishing holes and add them to the map. (Toggle Ability. 0 GP)

Golden Net - Increase Fishing and Mooching Yield by 1. (Duration: 240s. 300 GP)

Golden Net II- Increase Fishing and Mooching Yield by 3. (Duration: 240s. 500 GP)

Golden Net III - Increase Fishing and Mooching Yield by 5. (Duration: 240s. 700 GP)

Perfect Cast - Increase probability of catching an HQ Fish to 100%. Does not work while mooching. (Duration: 240s. 300 GP)

Perfect Cast II - Increase probability of catching an HQ fish to 100%. Does not work while double-mooching. (Duration: 240s. 500 GP)

Perfect Cast III - Increase probability of catching an HQ fish to 100%. (Duration: 240s. 700 GP)

Truth of Waters - Further surveys the landscape for unspoiled fishing holes. (Toggle ability. 0 GP)

Toil of the Sailor - While fishing, you may select a specific non-mooching fish previously caught. Probability of catching that fish is increased to 80%. (Duration: 15 minutes. 500 GP)


Traits:

Terminology and Errata:

Unspoiled Fishing Holes: These are fishing holes that are, like unspoiled nodes for Mining and Botany, only be accessible in a secret location for a limited time. Unlike unspoiled nodes, however, these will be active for 12 in-game hours, or 30 minutes.

Toil of the Sailor: I designed this ability to act similar to how Mining and Botany act already, but making it impossible to fish for "unknown" species, instead imparting the experience a fisher has with catching a specific kind of fish while avoiding all other types through using special techniques.

Master of the Land: As someone who has mastered all three DoL jobs already, I would personally find such an ability convenient. However, for those that don't, these abilities can be disabled by right-clicking on them or however players with controllers would otherwise remove buffs.

I'd like to see a trait or gear bonus that improves the GP recovery rate.

I'd like to see that be a percentile recovery rate without being a trait or gear bonus.

Recovering 600 GP at a rate of 5 GP per second is horrible.

Some really cool ideas here. I REALLY like All or Nihil. That one is fantastic.

I hope they add open world monsters that are level 61+ so we can't just stealth through EVERYTHING, just most things.

Also, they really need to make Blessed Harvest / King's Yield work on Rare/Hidden items. I'm tired of sitting on 600 GP when gathering only seeds. Let us use it on something!

Would love some added abilities to play with for the DotL Jobs

Swift Stealth: Increased movement speed while in stealth mode

Swift Harvesting/Mining: Use TP to increase harvesting/mining speed

Random: 500GP to forgo all slots and to mine/harvest one random item (Chance for rare items obtainable)

Mooch Pouch: Use HQ fishes in your inventory to mooch.

Tackle Box: Stores all lures and baits

Sounds like Fishing is the one that should be getting buffs. MIN/BTN are fine as is.

This would actually be 3x better than what we have currently and I would be totally OK with this. We get 5GP back per tick, and ticks are 3 seconds long.

I wonder if they'll add GP recovery targets. For example, while gathering, a Rare/Hidden item will randomly appear which will recover a set amount of GP if struck successfully. That would be useful I imagine.

Fishing needs more skills out of the 3 DoL, there are some pretty awesome ideas here. Now about the GP recovery, perhaps gathering a HQ restores 10GP or 20 considering how awful RNG is sometimes...

Also, since im here, i would like to point out to remove EXP from shards after level 20, certain... individuals.... benefit from this hugely.

DoL abilities I would like to see:

Miner / Botanist:
Ability: Wide Swing - Your swing uncovers one out-of-reach item and attempts to harvest from the node. - 300gp
Ability: Perfect Rhythm - Each successful gathering attempt increases the HQ chance for that item by 5%. Will not increase chances for items which start at 0%. - 200gp
Trait: Blessing of the Twelve - increases shard, crystal and cluster yield by 2
Trait: Ward of the Twelve III - Gathering wards double the current yield.
Trait: Enhanced Stealth IV - Increases the range of enemies avoidable when using stealth to level 60

Fisher:
Ability: Throw bait - Significantly increases chance of getting a bite. - 100gp
Trait: Once bitten, twice shy - Releasing a fish will greatly reduce your chances of catching that type of fish again for a short time. (HQ and NQ treated as separate fish)
Ability: Superior Mooch - Use the fish already hooked to your line to attract even larger prey. Works with NQ fish. - 400gp

More than a skill, I would like to be able to eat food while fishing, so I don't lose the buff in those locations that need long time preparation to catch a legendary ^_^

I definitely believe we need some GP skills for Fisher. Absolutely, positively, undoubtedly.

I think a tackle box would make a great off hand item :)

Here is my idea for GP use, and more fun Fishing:

New Ability: Tension I: Use after Hook, but before the Fish is pulled in.
--Sliding scale opens up (similar to the sliders on some of the punching games in the golden saucer). Pressing again in a success regions increase various aspects of fishing. Pressing hook again finishes with current results.
--GP drains over time AND for each attempt...so time delay, GP max, GP regen are important!
--Success regions shrink with each subsequent success.

There could be multiple success regions on one slider. Such as blue increases success rate, yellow increases chance of fishing up more than one fish, and green increases chance you'll catch a particular fish. Thus you can mix and match.

It gives us reason for GP/regen, and more engaging.
