I feel like Mystic Knight/Rune Fencer and Red Mage may very well be squished into one class. I'd love to see a Geomancer, but I feel like they'd be very similar to a DPS'ing Conjurer.
Red Mage without a doubt. If it could DPS with bard like utility, that would be great. Using En-spells to augment melee attacks, while having buffs such as Regen, Refresh, Phalanx and perhaps access to Tier III spells. (By the time it(if) releases blm will prolly be on Tier IV or higher). One can only hope.
The thing is, I feel like En-elemental spells are Mystic Knights forte. I don't think they should fuse classes.
Blue Mage, without a doubt. The system for learning and 'slotting' learned beast abilities is already in game with the cross-class skill system; it would only need a few tweaks.

There's massive balancing issues with the Blue Mage. Imagine being a BLU who has slotted Death Sentence, Revelation, Giga/Mega/Terraflare?
You'd have such an unfair advantage over other players who are unable to get to the specific content to use the "Best Abilities".
Also, Ctrl+f "Blue Mage in this link, where you can read Yoshidas opinions on BLU http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/191993
Back on topic, I'd absolutely love to see the Geomancer!
Blue Mage balance can be mitigated by making anything more potent than Flare/Holy a "slotted" limit break effect. Limit break comes in 3 levels, so it allows powers that are normally restricted. I've heard of a limit break doing over 27,000 damage. By hiding high level powers in dungeons with i75-90+ gear requirements, you can also keep blue mage power scales comparable to other classes.
Still, while Blue Mage is obviously DPS default, it would be interesting to think of them in terms of a Tank.
Blue Mage, if FFXI a 14 year old mmo can make it work why can't FFXIV do it.
Blue Mage would be awesome, always been my favorite class. I think it'd be interesting to do a Wrath-like mechanic. Doing physical combos (Vorpal Blade! Expiacion! Sanguine Blade maybe?) builds up whatever blue magic stack, when you get to five you can blow it on a spell. Maybe five lets you do big ones (Heartstopper? Bad Breath?), while fewer are necessary for healing/support options. Put cooldowns on them to make White Wind more like Second Wind than Cure in terms of frequency, so you aren't suddenly a healer class.
A huge amount of the fun of BLU in FFXI was hunting down the spells (and yes, I had them all, and yes, I fully acknowledge my rose colored glasses), and I don't really see that happening in our current FFXIV state. It'd be learning spells from job quests still, just with the veneer of "hunting down monsters".
I'd also love to see Time Mage. Comet, Demi, Meteor, Double, Triple, Old, all awesome spells.
If they did blue mage they should do it like mundras, where each button is a different type of creature. Like one button could be bird which would give you helldive and a button for demon which would give you condemnation, but if you combine them you get eyes on me from an ahriman(bird+demon). Just my idea! :) I think learning blue magic like everyone wants them to add like they did in 11 in unrealistic for this game, and would cause to much drama and kicking. "You dont have xxx spell from this gated content? Then gtfo!" type of situations.
Red mage
I'd like to see a Druid type of class, where you could turn into a wild animal as a melee type of dps class.
Geomancer, blue mage, and red mage. I would really like to see a caster DPS that uses earth wind and water. I hope they come up with some really interesting playstyle mechanics for a new caster job whenever they finally add one.
I think Geomancer and Blue Mage would be quite fabulous! Though for Blue Mage I wonder how the acquisition of monster abilities could be implemented. It would be cool to go around Eorzea fighting various mobs and collecting their abilities.
Summoner, the current Summoner class is more of a Primalist, using the powers of the Primals, not actual summons. :P
No one is asking for Primals as a permanent Pet most people would like it to be a 20s Limited Pet.
My point is let's keep the SMN debate to threads dedicated to it. No need to have the same discussion again and again on a multitude of different threads, it's not doing us any favours.
So on that note. If Blue Mage was added maybe it's job quests could work similar to the SMN's Austerities trials, where you would battle a unique form of a certain mob type and defeat it to gain it's monster ability.
Geomancer! As a natural extension of conjurer class!
I'd like to see Geomancer enter as a tank, and Time Mage enter as a healer/support (reversing time to before wounds were taken, and haste buffs)... so not DPS.
That said the obvious DPS choice is Red Mage.
Blue mage or red mage. Both would be incredibly cool, but seeing as casters are the next job type that needs reinforcements I guess blue mage (since red mages would function as a magic-damage melee job). If done right they could be a very interesting job to play and I'm told they work well in FFXI.
Geomancer looks so... Cute LOL. I can hardily picture how would they implement them but I really like the idea with bell as weapon and very graphic skills. I'm looking forward to it!
List of feasible Final Fantasy series Jobs for FF14:-
- Geomancer (We already have basic wind/ earth-based magic ingame, so why not build upon it.)
http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...-Geomancer.png
- Red Mage (An iconic FF job, however, it would need some nuance added to it, in order for it to be unique. The only way I could think was to make it similar to Mystic Knight.)
http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...F5-RedMage.png
- Dancer (A good example of a wholely unique FF job that could add to the support role, as well as provide another job with a unique play style tempo.)
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...FF5-Dancer.png
- Blue Mage (Again, it's unique. It could have it's own niche within FF14, however, it may be difficult to incorporate into FF14, on accounts of having to 'learn' from mobs ingame. Solely learning new abilites from non-boss mobs would be pretty dull, and add no 'wow factor' to the Job, at least in my opinion. Also, actually 'learning' abilities may be difficult to programme for an MMO.)
http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...5-BlueMage.png
- Time Mage (An interesting FF series job that has potential to add support (via haste buffs), as well as inflicting spell/ skill speed debuffs, and/or other enfeelabling magic to enemies.)
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...5-TimeMage.png
- Mystic Knight (Essentially, just a sword wielding DPS job that en-magics it's weapon to deal magic ascpected damage to foes. Not really that interesting if it's solely based on FF series lore.)
http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...sticKnight.png
- Necromancer (We already have somewhat macabre elements ingame, in the form of Haukke Manor, Tam-Tara, etc.. As to how the job would act, and also fit, in terms of role and purpose, I don't know.)

Blue Mage.
They could play up the copying aspect more heavily than the learning aspect.
It would still be cool if they could collect monster abilities and equip them as cross-class skills but I'd also let them temporarily "learn" other party member abilities, like when a Bard is playing Foe's the Blue Mage can copy it and can pick up playing it when the BRD is done, or they take a stoneskin buff from a player that still has it and copy the effect onto the tank.
Maybe a Mimicry skill where you duplicate a party members last 2-3 actions, an ability to copy those 'damage up' buffs monsters apply onto yourself along with a spell to duplicate them onto the party.
Less of a focus on permanently learning what you're seeing and more copying and duplicating it in the heat of battle...
It's not really the traditional 'learning skills from monsters' Blue Mage, but I doubt we'll ever get that in FFXIV. Got to think outside the box :).
I'm not sure how you'd handle their regular rotations though. I was hoping we'd get Musketeer as a class with a Blue Mage/Gun Mage style job for it.
I really want to see what FFXIV can do with the Illusionist job from Tactics Advance.
I would be perfectly ok with this. Kinda figured that if/when we get blu it would come from radz-at-han (spelling?) With an expanision for that area. Also how would the following sound:
Hysteric barrage - lamia
Healing wind - puk
Cocoon -crawlers
Amorphic spikes - flans
Goblin rush - gobbies
No one remembers Flintlock from Final fantasy Tactics A2? It was bad because he had to charge every time he wanted to use a spell. But I think it would be a cool addition for the game as a DPS. Elemental shots, some MP/TP regen shot that regens in an area or Shield shot that buff resistances too. Some CC like a blind shot or something to push the enemies. He would have the longest range of the game and he would deal a lot of damage, but he would need to charge everytime he uses an ability.
